He had the right to leave, he did it the wrong way, but the Cavaliers failed for 7 years to put a championship caliber team around LBJ, there was no upside... he did take the easy way out goign to Miami but you cannot blame if he had chose Chicago/NJ or even NY with Amare and some solid young guys in Gallo/Chandler there as well. I think this decision really just represents where the NBA is now, everyone is friends, there is no competition.... guys like LBJ and Wade should be going toe to toe in the ECF, not alongside one another, there is just no pride and competition anymore... the only guy that really has the fire these days is Kobe.2 points

What a surprise. The biggest Kobe jocker, troll, and unnecessarily bring the Lakers into every conversation posted makes a thread like this. .2 points

Yeah, I'm sure Miami fans are SO concerned about LeBron's career post-season averages of 29/8/7 and resume of taking the worst supporting cast in NBA history to the Finals. Or his crappy 29/19/10 triple double in a game he quit in against the Celtics. Whatever mess LeBron leaves, D-Wade will just clean it up anyway...2 points

Gilbert has EVERY right to be pissed. Lebron didn't even tell them he was leaving until like 20 mins before the show. Seriously, if he made up his mind up in the morning, why couldn't he call the teams and tell them he's going to the heat? Lerbon is a fricken prick, and I hope the Heat don't make the playoffs. Awesome job Gilbert.2 points

Maybe it isn't even his decision, everyone needs to quit looking for reasons to hate on the guy, honestly.2 points

The thing is in Chicago he would've of been THE GUY there. In Miami he is 2nd behind Wade. And what LeBron has said in the past is a slap into the face of Cleveland and Cavs fans for not keeping his promise and like Charles Barkely said this guy will never and should never be in the same sentence as MJ, Magic, Bird, Russell, & Kobe as greats to do it on their own. I just ended this thread [/thread]1 point

No one would care? Memphis was a "whatever" basketball city, yet people were punching babies when Pau Gasol was actually traded to Los Angeles, even going as far as saying it was a conspiracy set up by David Stern, or that it was all Jerry West helping LA when, actually, West wasn't even the GM. A 42-45 win Los Angeles team brought in Gasol, and we never heard the end of it. A similar Heat team brought in both LeBron and Bosh...for free. I don't know what you expect here.1 point

When T-Mac was 25, he was a back-to-back scoring champ who put up LeBron-like numbers with 32/6.5/5.5. By 28, he was a slightly better Joe Johnson. Now he's a veteran's minimum player at 30, still a second-round virgin. KG said it best...loyalty is great and all, but you can NEVER get back your youth. And you can NEVER predict how a player's career will pan out. LeBron has the MVP's and put up legendary stats already, now it's time to win. Instead of praying that the Cavs could do something that they were unable to do in 7 years, which is build a championship-level team with a bright future, he went to a team that has a chance to win multiple championships for years to come. And I stand by the fact that in a few years and few championships later, no one will really care about this. No one looks down on Shaq for bolting to LA from a Finals team in the Magic at a similar point in his career that LeBron is at. And he did it for far more selfish reasons. If LeBron wins a few rings and plays at the same MVP level (maybe not 30/8/8 stats, but still MVP caliber), he'll be remembered in a more favorable light than if he didn't win in Cleveland, even if he does have Wade and Bosh.1 point

I think we are going to be an exciting team to watch next year, our ball movement is going to be like it was in 07 and our offense will be more balanced, I want us to win 15 games and get a top 3 pick but I realize BC/MLSE won't allow that, but we are going to be an exciting team... if Demar and Sonny can start sinking long range jumpers relatively consistently that would be beast. Jarret Jack is going to have an awesome year too.1 point

T-Mac was my favorite player, I watched him religiously since since like 2001. I know his game well. I agree he has amazing court vision and passing ability, but last year he had a very hard time getting to the rim, couldn't shoot the ball with any kind of efficiency, does not move off-ball (why he didn't work with Adelman well), can't defend with the loss of athleticism, and he's not a guy who does all the "little things." All of those things will be necessary playing alongside 3 of the top 10-15 players in the league who all need the ball in their hands to be very effective. I'm not saying the Heat shouldn't sign him, because at this point they are going to really need to dig around to get quality players around Wade/Bron/Bosh, which will be tough to do with their salary situation. All I'm saying is that it wouldn't be a good fit on that team unless T-Mac changes his game; something he seems to think he doesn't have to do yet, and something he hasn't had to do since he was a teenager. Honestly, T-Mac would be a much better fit in LA, even though I don't even know if that's the best idea in the world.1 point

Where did I say anything about assists? Where did I say anything about him being a good passer? Who said anything about him playing 36 minutes? I have to say, you have me confused. Not because I don't understand what you're saying, I get it, you don't like Chris Duhon for some reason, but I don't understand why specifically you're saying it. Did you just feel like posting something so you wrote the first thing that came to your head? Because nothing you wrote had anything to do with what you quoted me for. And who says 'lol @ you' anymore? Your attempts at being condescending are frankly a little embarassing since I now have to reply to them. I'll make it simple for you. I said he's good with the pick and roll. David Lee and Chris Duhon actually rated as quite an efficient pick and roll tandem. Sports journalists all around agree with me: "What the team is left with is Chris Duhon, a player whose pick-and-roll ability is right on top of the league in terms of efficiency" - that was from SNY.tv and there are a host of others. I feel like I'm a reliable poster, but if you'd like a link to where that's from, I'll gladly give you one. Also, google "Chris Duhon - Pick and Roll efficiency" and you'll have a whole number of articles to sift through about Duhon's efficiency. You wont do it, but it's a suggestion, at least. Adjusting from giving the ball to David Lee to giving it to Dwight Howard in pick and roll situations shouldn't be a difficult task, either. For four seasons now Orlando has been built around pick and roll offenses and players chucking threes. That's our bail out plan. In Orlando, if you're shot isn't falling, keep throwing up threes. You may not like it in New York (but who are you to talk when you've lost 50+ games for 9 straight seasons), but in Orlando, we like our players to shoot threes and to shoot lots of them. The skill and efficiency of our three point shooter (to which Duhon will not be a part of given his .362 three point percentage) is the backbone which helps us win games. You can badmouth Duhon all you like, but Duhon is actually going to be an important player to us next season. You can mark those word if you like. Didn't New York just pay a 100 million for Amar'e Stoudemire for 5 years? And you have the nerve to criticise a four year, 15 million dollar deal? Sigh, where do you idiots breed?1 point

@LD2k LOL. Things are different now, of course, but that still got a laugh out of me.1 point

Good signing, but the Heat should've used that money to get a center or a point guard. Miller won't be logging many minutes playing behind Wade and LeBron.1 point

No but I do believe after the blowjob he received from Pat Riley with his big fat dick sucking lips......he knew Miami was his choice.1 point

So Cleveland fans can now agree that Lebron is a pompous [expletive]. Great. If Lebron announced he'd return to Cleveland, Cavs fans would be riding his dick. hilarious RIP CLEVELAND CAVALIERS 20101 point

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Seriously, LeBron landed in your laps because you sucked so bad, he single-handedly brought them back to prominence, gave them major media exposure, a Finals appearance, 60-win seasons, multiple MVP worthy seasons, possibly saved the team from bolting to another city...give me a break. Ya'll knew this day would come and made the wrong moves to build around an all-time talent. He did what was best for he and his family. Classless. Absolutely classless. LeBron is still a young guy and is only one person. That's not to excuse his actions, but by making this statement you are bringing down your own franchise to an even lower lever than he is.1 point

Just be happy you got the 7 great years you did get from him. A Finals appearance, back-to-back MVP awards, 60-win seasons...I can't imagine how it must feel to be a Cavs fan right now, but be happy you got to experience the kind of success in the last 7 years many franchises have never seen,1 point

Real men recognize when it's time to move on and make the best of their opportunities, which is what he did. He doesn't want to be like KG and stay loyal for absolutely nothing. I think it's dumb people are hating on him for WANTING TO WIN!!1 point
