  2. A few major issues I have... -Yes, Fisher and Harper's numbers were close in the years you specified, but Harper was a MUCH better player. He was bigger, more versatile and created matchup problems. Not to mention you completely ignored FG % and only look at 3pt %. Harper shot 9% better overall from the field than Fisher, and that is a much bigger difference than Fisher's edge in 3pt shooting. Also, Harper took a greatly reduced role with the Bulls. He was a 20/6/5 player the year before he joined Chicago. To give you an idea, the Hawks gave Joe Johnson the biggest contract out of any FA this summer for virtually the same production. Harper was a much better player than Fisher. -How in the world is Artest a better defender than Pippen? Pippen was arguably the best perimeter defender in NBA history. When Artest was in his prime you might have some ground to say that, but he's not the same defensive player he once was. Even though awards are overrated, in 1996 Pippen was in the middle of a string of 7 straight All-Defensive First Team selections. Meanwhile Artest has made only one All-Defensive team in the last 4 seasons (and that was only a 2nd Team selection). Artest is also NOWHERE NEAR the offensive player Pippen was. Pippen is what made the offensive attack so versatile and dangerous. Artest doesn't make anywhere near the impact Pippen did, and so the advantage for the Bulls in this matchup is enormous. -I would say Rodman/Gasol is a push. You are severely underrating Rodman's defense just because he didnt block shot. He was arguably the greatest defender and rebounder in NBA history. Even though he was undersized, he would have given Gasol fits with his speed, toughness, hands and IQ. Not to mention he dominated the glass more than any player currently in the league ever has, including Dwight Howard. That alone would help take away one of LA's biggest strength. -I would have given the Bulls bench the edge. Much more consistent and the 3pt shooting was lethal (Kukoc over 40% from 3, Kerr at over 51%). You never knew what ANY of the Lakers bench players would give the team on a nightly basis. With the Bulls, there was stability. Look, I understand the Lakers have talent, but we are comparing them to a team that was #1 in offense and #1 in defense the same year. We're talking the most dominant single-season team in NBA history. Some stats from the Bulls' 1996 season... -The Bulls outscored teams by THRITEEN(!) points per game. -The Bulls outrebounded teams by over SIX boards per game. -The Bulls averaged FIVE more assists than opponents. -The Bulls forced 3 more turnovers than they gave up. -The Bulls shot 48% from the floor and 40% from 3. -Three of the five starters were selected to the All-Defensive First Team in 1996. -Against Shaq's Magic, Zo's Heat and Ewing's Knicks in the playoffs, the Bulls lost one combined game. It goes on and on and on...

  4. The immaturity of some of these members are one of the reasons I left and never really came back. I don't see the point in fighting over the internet, or fighting in general. If you guys don't like what someone said, simply IGNORE him/her. There is absolutely NO reason to attack the member. Maybe he doesn't know basketball, maybe he's completely biased, or maybe he really is stupid...but do not, by all means, make fun of him, talk trash to him, or start an endless argument with him. The two choices are: 1; you leave the stupid idiot alone, or 2; you reply with a kind, knowledgeable, and, most importantly, MATURE post. The fact that you guys all pointed fingers at each other in THIS THREAD is even more immature. I don't know how you put up with all this crap, Brandon...you're a warrior. With such an amazing and dedicated owner, OTR could be one the best basketball-based message boards on the web. What's holding it back is people like you guys, and people like me who don't want to be apart of it.

  7. In other words, the Hornets won't be trading Paul to the Knicks unless they get Amare in return, because the Knicks have nothing that interests them other than STAT. And if the Knicks deal Amare for Paul without getting another big (ex. Okafor), they will struggle even more due to the fact that they won't have any defense up front...like Amare actually plays defense to begin with, but he still has the ability to grab d-boards and contest shots. ------ Of course, the kicker is that the Hornets will want to trade Emeka as well...and this could be a good thing for the Knicks, if they can snag Paul without trading Amare (which is the idea, according to the topic title). Emeka isn't the offensive player he hoped to be, and he's not Dwight Howard on defense, but he's still a better defensive player than Amare, and he's also more of a center. If the Knicks want Paul without trading Amare, I assume the Hornets will try and shove Emeka's contract down their throats. Good for New York.

  11. Toy Story 3 *Nomination for best Animated Feature of the Year* http://i.tmi.tc/images/p/13079.jpg Let's face the truth, Pixar is the most successful studio in the business today. Every single movie they make is a hit. In fact it almost seems as if the Best Animated Feature Academy Award should just have their name written on it every year (btw they've won it the past 3 years and 5 of the 7 movies that have qualified for it have won) . A quick look at all the movies they have made will show anyone just how successful they are. Toy Stories 1 (5), 2 (4), and 3 (5), A Bugs Life (5), Monsters Inc. (5), Finding Nemo (5), The Incredibles (4.5), Cars (5), Ratatouille (5), WALL-E (4.5), UP (5). All but 2 of them are ranked on the IMDB top 250 list right now. It is no surprise to me that they wanted to clean up the one blemish they had with TS2, which was let's face it CRAP, compared to the original. Still a great movie (I just don't give away 4's), however we all know they could have done much better. If you didn't and saw TS3, you definitely know because they did. Toy Story 3 is nothing short of a masterpiece to cap of one of the greatest series's of movies that I have ever seen. Those of us who grew up with TS and feel a connection to Andy in the movie will probably agree with me, btw I don't blame those who cried in the end, it was quite emotional, in a happy mood too which is awesome. In TS3 Andy is going off to college and the Toy's are wondering weather or not they will be thrown out or stored in the attic. When they wind up in a day care center they realize they need to get back home, but is it too late? Not much more I can say that hasn't been said, another Best Animated Feature Award for Pixar. - 5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKP-9BtBNEQ

  12. Kick [expletive] http://i.tmi.tc/images/p/12312.jpg The first thing I must describe about this movie is the actual fact that is a serious movie, meaning there's a deep plot behind and it actually is a pretty gory movie. That being said it only kind of makes the movie weird in my opinion. I think they would have been better suited with the disney channel, not a lot of blood approach. This way entertains as well though. The movie is about a teenager who decides to dress up like a super hero and might crime. However at the same time a father-daughter crime fighting duo is taking down the kingpin of a gang. Thus the self entitled "Kick-[expletive]" finds himself in a bit of jam, behing hunted by the mob. The movie is pretty much a straight up action/comedy. The realism is obviously thrown out the window if you watch the trailer you can see a little girl going god mode dodging bullets down a hall way, etc. Mediocre acting and a weird attempt lead me to give this a lower grade then it could have gotten. - 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfq3yJtTdhU MacGruber http://i.tmi.tc/images/p/600/16287.jpg Before I begin the review I want to thank Smitty for making a guest appearance in this movie Now, if you've ever seen the SNL skits or even the commercials before you pretty much know what to expect. MacGruber is a spoof on Mcgyver. Basically the special agent is very unorthodox but gets the job done, for the most part. The movie is great if you are looking for a laugh, terrible if your expecting serious movie. Still it's pretty hilarious!! - 3.5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqySbDqTGGc Robin Hood http://i.tmi.tc/images/p/17296.jpg If I had to pick 3 movies that I thought would be great this year, this would be in it. If I had to pick 3 movies that have disappointed me greatly, this would be in it. The acting is on point, the story line is good, however the production is off. The scenes have no flow at all to them, the movie seems like a jumble. However if you're able stay with it, still an awesome movie. The movie is not the actual Robin Hood storyline, it is pre-robin hood and the events that lead up to him becoming Robin Hood. Honestly, the worst I could have ever given this movie was probably a 3.5 simply because of the story line and Russell Crowe. Definitely a disappointment though. - 3.5 Get Him to the Greek http://i.tmi.tc/images/p/13000.jpg Get him to the Greek is a movie about a guy who works for a record label. When the label has money trouble, P. Diddy's character ask for suggestions. When he like's Johan Hill's character's idea, he is sent to London to bring Aldous Snow, the rock star from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, (Russell Brand) back to LA to the Greek theater, what ensues is madness. The movie is pretty funny, although some of the humor is crude, and some of it is lost on me. In the end the movie just doesn't work for me, it was funny but I think the plot is murdered somewhere in the middle of drug load cigarettes and chicks with mics as pubes... - 3 The A-Team http://i.tmi.tc/images/p/17590.jpg I PITY THE FOOL, who paid over $5 to see this movie, even though I did. The A-Team, as most of you know, is an old TV show of ex-army rangers who went around helping people. This movie is pretty much the formation of the team and a mission of theirs. After they are locked up when a mission of theirs is completely botched and their general ends up dieing they are all sent to prison, after breaking out, they all go after the man who set them up. It's a great movie with a lot of action and Jessica Biel. However the realism is worse than Kick [expletive], all 4 characters are completely god mode and the [expletive] they pull of and survive is beyond comprension. If you don't mind that 1,000,000:1 shot coming through every time aspect then raise my grade up a full number. - 3

  17. Ask them. I was referring to the actual quote (Wade was misquoted in the original post): "We enjoy the bull's-eye. Plus, there's going to be times when we lose 2-3 games in a row, and it seems like the world has crashed down. You all are going to make it seem like the World Trade is coming down again, but it's not going to be nothing but a couple basketball games." But under the pretense that Wade did say losing basketball games would be like 9/11, if you don't see the wrong in that by now then you never will. lol, stupidity and morality are not mutually exclusive. And a little off the point: though the 9/11 misquote is quite sh-tty, I still don't think "morally wrong" is the appropriate term for it. Insensitive and poor judgment (and of course moronic) are more applicable, but that's getting into semantics. They're two examples of censorship, but the comparison is not valid because, again, they are completely different forums with different intentions. I'm sure Einstein would've understood why he shouldn't compare sporting events to catastrophes.

  23. March Releases Alice in Wonderland http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/ff/Alice-In-Wonderland-Theatrical-Poster.jpg Scary? No. Freaky? Yes. Depp? Yes. Burton? Yes. Good? ....no. I guess this is really just an acquired taste the movie altogheter was just hard to follow and dumb, in my opinion. Alice in Wonderland is supposed to be a childerns movie, this is not a childerns movie. Infact it's almost quite the opposite. I don't it might be cool to check out just to see a Tim Burton film but I did not enjoy it. Still a decent movie I guess. - 3.0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCM4JiJ6B2I

  24. February Releases From Paris With Love http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/61/FromParisWithLovePoster.jpg Didn't want to see this one, originally, me and my friends were deciding which movie to see, I wanted Shutter but someone thought that was a scary movie. So if someone would have just saw Shutter I could have avoided wasting ten dollars of my money that night. The movie was not bad but it was not good. Travolta goes way too far over the top with his character to the point that it somewhat annoyed me. Not to mention the fact the storyline is somewhat boring. Avoided a 3.0 with a good ending, I wouldn't suggest it tho. - 3.5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sLG0owba0E Shutter Island http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/76/Shutterislandposter.jpg I'd be lying if I didn't say this one disappointed me. Honestly I knew the end right from the beginning, no lie. 5 minutes in I called the ending to the movie. If not for the people telling me how predictable it was I may have had second guessed myself, so I'm sorry if this ruins it. Basically this stars my boy Leo as a US Marshall who is sent into to investigate a mysterious disappearance on an island. What ensues is craziness. This movie overall was excellent, aside from being slightly predictable to the keen ones. Ignorance is bliss for this one folks.- 4.5 The Crazies http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/8a/Crazies_ver2.jpg Another disappointment. Timothy Olyphant is probably my favorite actor, him or Matt Damon. I was really excited to see this when I saw him in it. Movie is about a town that is infected with a disease that makes you go insane. Olyphant is a the sheriff who discovers what exactly is going on and tries to get his wife out of there. Movie was okay, cool concept ruined by [expletive]ty ideas. The ending was like wow are you kidding? The very end should make you smile if you understand whats happening. Decent...better than Paris. BTW, love the Mad World in the trailer . - 3.5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEMZwQulT1Q Cop Out http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/07/Copoutposter.jpg Bleh...originally I thought this was going to be a lot like 'Showtime' with DeNiro and Murphy but it wasn't. The movie is about 2 cops that ruin a case and are taken off of it, stop me if you've heard this one before. Then end up getting mixed up with the case anyway and yeah you can fill in the blanks. All I can say is bleh really. I mean what more can you expect from a Tracy Morgan film? It has it's funny parts, quite a few and it has it's boring parts. Funny movie for those just looking for a laugh. Bad movie for those looking to watch a good movie... - 3.0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6t0dWo58jg

  25. January Releases The Lovely Bones http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/9e/Lovely_bones_ver2.jpg I got to admit what originally roped me into this movie was Marky Mark . For some reason I'm a big fan of his even tho I used to hate him. Anyways saw the Previews, saw Marky Mark so I checked it out. Peter Jackson does an incredible job directing this, awesome visuals and scene cutting and editing and w/e but the movie flows and the movie does an excellent job with transitions and yeah Idk how to explain it you just have to see it to realize it. The movie is about a girl who is murdered by her neighbor and when she dies instead of going to heaven she tries to remain in the pathway between heaven and earth. The movie gets very confusing onto how she communicates and frankly the idea of her helping her father solve her murder is completely false, in a way. Anyway I'm not going to give anymore a way, it's a confusing movie but the directing is fantastic and the storyline is very new and interesting. So confusing but great overall. - 4.0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikUWKi0W5_g The Book of Eli http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e3/Book_of_eli_poster.jpg Obviously the main attraction to this movie is Mr. Washington, who if anyone read my Pelham review, I'm a sucker too. Denzel does another top notch job in this one. This movie is a sci-fi movie about 30-40 years into the future. The Earth had gone through another hole in the world and been destroyed so much that the atmosphere could no longer protect the Earth from the sun and the sun was destroying the Earth. You had to wear glasses when you left the house or else you would go blind. Anyway interesting movie regarding religion and it's importance. Would have been a 3.5 if not for the cool twist at the end . Oh ya and Mila 'badass' Kunis . - 4.0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKfZrbS79To (sorry for those with bad speakers) Edge of Darkness http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/4c/Edge_of_Darkness_the_Movie_poster.jpg Can you say weak? This movie makes me annoyed that Mel Gibson and Maverick used to be my favorite movie, still may be. Ugh, maybe some will like this but I had the movie figured out in the first 5 minutes. The fact that they could kill everyone around this guy and not him was just retarded. Big fail, not a super fail because you can still enjoy it but I do not suggest watching this movie. Plus Boston sucks! - 2.5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxK__2MGm7A

  26. Brooklyn's Finest http://www.wildaboutmovies.com/images_7/brooklyns_finest.jpg This movie is a crime drama about 3 cops in Brooklyn, 1 is an undercover cop (Don Cheadle) trying his best to keep from going under, and trying his best to get out of the position he is in. The second is a veteran cop (Richard Gere) who is one week away from retirement and wakes up every morning and puts a gun in his mouth and pulls the trigger. The third (Ethan Hawke) is kind of like swat force I guess he breaks into the houses and takes down the drug operations with a team of guys. He is trying to get his family of like 18 kids and wife into a new house. Movie is directed by the same guy who directed Training Day so those who watched that movie can expect much of the same, obviously he got Ethan Hawke again who has a better performance in this move than he did training day. If you think the trailer looks interesting you should enjoy it. Fan side of me wants to go 4.0 because I love Don Cheadle but realistic side of me has to go. - 3.5
