  5. It really depends on a lot of things. A running back-by-committee can be very effective behind a good ZBS O Line. A #1 WR can be effective even when the OL isn't playing great. Taking into account the landscape of the NFL (a more passing league now) along with teams like the Redskins and Browns, I think a WR is a more valuable commodity. Serviceable HB's can be found anywhere, especially in a system like Shanahan's who has a proven track record of turning average HB's into stars. I still believe a good Oline is the hardest to acquire commodity in the NFL, but WR's are right behind them. Plus, who was the last elite "feature back" to win a Super Bowl or a Super Bowl MVP? Jamal Lewis? Marshall Faulk? An elite WR stretches the field, takes the safety out of the box, helps QB's perform better (young or old), and typically have longer, more productive careers than RB's.

  9. ^I agree with the confident cocky part. Brown is a great teammate and locker room guy. This is not to say J.R. is a cancer... when he goes "nuts" he doesn't bring the team down like most cancers, e.g. sabotaging a game... this is because I can say without bias that J.R. tries to be the player George Karl wants him to be, but due to GK's crazy scrutiny on him, he tends to fold under pressure. I do believe J.R. just happened to play with 2 coaches (Byron Scott in New Orleans and George Karl now) that don't tolerate him much. I do believe GK has a strong bias against J.R. In other words, he tries to make too much over little stuff when J.R. screws up. And probably Byron Scott did too. In Portland game, we saw how Billups jacked up a contested 30 footer 3-pointer with 13 secs left that cost us the game. GK always complained about J.R.'s shot selection, and yet he did not say anything about that Billups shot, and Billups (shooting career worst 31 3PT% this season, including about 33 overall FG%) has taken many ill-advised shots since last year. I do believe J.R. can thrive and at least become a 20 ppg scorer under the coach that pushes the right buttons with him. Coaches that are patient and hold their own emotions in check when dealing with him, yet those that demand respect. Phil Jackson comes into mind. George Karl just doesn't seem to have any interest in getting out that diamond from the rough or take any "crap" from J.R. Despite the baggage, I'll take J.R. any day for many reasons: - He is a scoring threat that EASILY creates his own shots, be it half-court sets or full-court sets. - He passes like a PG, he can pass so well that he is one of the few non-PGs that actually have that chance to be a full-time PG... Despite his disdain for J.R., it's not uncommon for him to trust J.R. enough to run the team's plays even when Billups/ Ty are on the floor at times. He has not only passing skill but also the court vision of a PG. He can be a SG version of LeBron, one that scores but also facilitates the team very well. He passes so well that I rarely see him commit a TO from his passing. He can do pick and roll and bounce passes through tight spaces of defense better than most PGs in the L. He can penetrate and kick out flawlessly. He can dish alley oops off dribble in transition. Unfortunately, there's not many youtube videos of his passing as evidence... all I ask is if you doubt my opinion on J.R.'s passing, please watch and observe more Nugget games. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0A2zfItzJAw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmEPwMke2sA - When he puts his mind to it, J.R. is actually a good defender... I wouldn't say he is All NBA Defensive Team, but one that is clearly above average J.R. is not my favorite player by any means, so I can say with certainty that I said all above without bias.

  10. They can snag a playoff spot if they keep it up, but I can't say they will contend for a ring this season. I haven't watched all of their games, but from those that I've seen (including the Heat game), they need to convert on those drives to the rim and hit those mid-range shots. I know they can make threes, but they just need some offensive consistency. I'm not too surprised that they are playing pretty good defense, probably a top ten defensive team in the NBA. Granger will always be a decent to good defensive player (and he is, this season), but I'm shocked that Hibbert seems to have improved on the defensive end. The Pacers just need to get Collison on the same page, because he's having trouble...partially due to the injury, but he's had trouble for a while now, even in New Orleans (he was pretty bad, defensively, when he was in NOH, so I guess you can say he improved as well). The one that sticks out the most is Dunleavy, but you won't fix that defensive problem anytime soon. Boston, Orlando, Chicago, and Miami would all beat the Pacers in a seven-game series. After that, though, it's hard to say.

  11. This. Basically, they just don't have the talent, depth or experience to compete in a 7-game series against any of the first round opponents they'd face in the post-season.

  12. I want to see Brown when he cools off a bit, and see how he adjusts his game. Right now, Brown is clearly playing superior basketball. I do feel JR is probably more talented, and he is a better passer and slightly better defender, but right now Brown is plain stroking it from deep. With this new-found confidence, will he go the JR route and keep jacking up 3pt shots when he's ice cold in the near-future? That's the situation I'm looking for before I can fairly judge Brown's play.

  16. Love this W, .500! Amar'e had a ton of blocks tonight. I was watching with my buddy who asked if the Knicks were any good, I said 'they are always up 15 and end up giving up the tie, who knows if they win'. That was in the 2nd quarter, it came close enough to true Fantastic game for Felton, super heady play at the end of the game. Up 2, 11 or so seconds left, Gallo missed the 2nd freethrow... Felton snuck behind Jackson and stole the ball, saved it in bounds, and got Gallo two more free throws. Went up 4 and iced the game. Go Knicks!

  20. When it comes to my safety whilst traveling 35,000 feet up in the air, I don't want it to be a 'competition' of who can get the most people on the plane the quickest.

  23. After listening to it front to back at least 10 times since Monday. 1. All of The Lights - That interlude is amazing and then when the song starts, its my favorite part of the album. Even with Fergie's part its still the best song on there. 2. Dark Fantasy - Nicki on the intro is awesome and he kills the opening track. 3. Devil in a New Dress - most underrated song on the album. 4. Gorgeous - Love it. Cudi is perfect on the hook and Raekwon's part is dope. 5. Blame Game - Could easily be number 1. The Chris Rock part at the end is hilarious. 6. Hell of a Life - Awesome beat and the song just flows. 7. Monster - Nicki steals this one. She went haaaard. 8. Runaway - Another underrated track on the album. I love Pusha's verse. 9. So Appalled - Doesn't really fit the album, but Jay's part is dope. 10. Power - Old, but still a hard [expletive] song. 11. Lost in the World - Too 808's-ish for me but I like it. Not one bad track on the album and easily the best album of the year.
