  1. I'm just getting word that Hamed Haddadi proposed a toast during the party stating that he's going to take his talents to South Beach to form the big 4. http://www.cantstopthebleeding.com/img/1254888986-84191189_10.jpg

  10. I just wanted to say that I'm really happy to be posting on this forum.. I mean, I know I'm a bit random but I just wanted to tell everyone that: 1) this is one of the only forum where you come talk about the game you love in peace. 2) No trolls 3) quality posters and a lot of members knowing their game. I mean.. Otr is the best NBA forum on the internet right now and I wanted to thank everyone.. especially RD for bringing me back in. Way better than any other forums even though they're more active (you know which one I'm talking about!)

  11. We were under the impression that the league was going to be dominated by point guards this season. Has anyone else actually noticed the numbers these PF's are putting up? Amare Stoudemire - 26 PPG, 9 RPG, 3 APG, 53% FG Dirk Nowitzki - 25 PPG, 8 RPG, 2 APG, 56% FG Pau Gasol - 20 PPG, 11 RPG, 4 APG, 51% FG Kevin Garnett - 16 PPG, 10 RPG, 2 APG, 54% FG Kevin Love - 21 PPG, 16 RPG, 2 APG, 45% FG Blake Griffin - 20 PPG, 12 RPG, 3 APG, 51% FG David West - 19 PPG, 7 RPG, 2 APG, 53% FG Luis Scola - 20 PPG, 9 RPG, 2 APG, 51% FG Zach Randolph - 18 PPG, 12 RPG, 2 APG, 49% FG Lamar Odom - 16 PPG, 10 RPG, 3 APG, 58% FG Chris Bosh - 18 PPG, 8 RPG, 2 APG, 50% FG Josh Smith - 16 PPG, 9 RPG, 4 APG, 50% FG Al Jefferson - 17 PPG, 9 RPG, 2 APG, 47% FG Elton Brand - 16 PPG, 8 RPG, 2 APG, 52% FG Carlos Boozer - 16 PPG, 8 RPG, 2 APG, 50% FG LaMarcus Aldridge - 17 PPG, 8 RPG, 2 APG, 44% FG David Lee - 15 PPG, 10 RPG, 4 APG, 45% FG Tim Duncan - 13 PPG, 9 RPG, 3 APG, 48% FG What player(s) stand out the most for you? Pau Gasol, Kevin Love, and Blake Griffin are the three 20/10 players out of the bunch (Gasol is at 19.6 PPG though). Dirk Nowitzki and Lamar Odom are the two shooting over 55% from the floor. Pau Gasol, David Lee and Josh Smith are the three averaging four assists per game (of course, numbers are rounded off, Lee is at 3.8).

  12. Okay, fantastic argument. Cuban is usually the person to listen to in these situations, so I'm convinced.

  14. I wasn't around during those times when Magic and Larry hated each other or whatever, but I wish everyone had Kobe's (or Durant, to a lesser extent) mindset, at least the best players in the league. The Heat basically sum up the current state of the NBA's competitive flame. I mean I don't blame the players though, you would probably get fined 25k for getting in someone's grill these days.

  15. BTW here's what I got so far, it's a slimmed down 2nd draft: Yo lemme tell you of the story of the kid AsIll His life is like a movie, reminisce of past stills He was born in November, the 18th day The spirit of a saint, innocence washed away By the hand of God his parents sparked new life But his soul started rotting thought his bid was trife At the age of eight, though his life was great His mom started drinkin, then she’d come home late He sat and wait, minutes, then hours went by As the clock ticked, he screamed why then cried Mom arrived blacked out, he thought she dead When he looked in her eyes, not a word was said He’d bring her peanut butter spread out on bread Felt helpless and alone, he picked up the phone And called his dad screaming in a high pitched tone “Hey daddy, mommy’s dying, what should I do? Can I wake her up, I tried, I ain’t got no clue” Later that month dad filed for divorce And was granted full custody by the courts He told his son don’t cry baby cut your loss But hatred built up through AsIll’s veins Is mom dead, not sleepin, yeah that’s real pain They moved 3 times in 3 long years “I’m switchin schools again, what about my peers?” He was told to man up cuz life’s real hard Still he felt empty, youthful heart was scarred His dad remarried to a cold hearted [expletive] Just thinking about her face still makes him twitch And his mom was in a struggle, she almost died twice Never in her life did one drink suffice Besides family stress, why don’t you guess At school he’s picked on, always seen as less At home his family hated him, degraded him His room was in the basement, far away from them The [expletive] was too much, so he bought a dutch Broke up all the weed, and then rolled a blunt Addiction kicked in, goin outta sight Poppin e pills, lights shined so bright In 6 months he [expletive]in lost 50 pounds His head was immersed by the pounding sounds Of 2Pac spitting Death Around the Corner It became his anthem, a fandom caused tandem Every night he was tortured by demons The nightmares set in every time he was sleepin His family found out he’s just like his mom They kicked him out the house, mad [expletive] gone wrong Losing in faith in Christ, he took a knife and sliced Both of his wrists, son rolled the dice He was locked in a hospital like a caged rat The shining son had fallen and he can't turn back Ten days, post-attempt, got released in peace Didn’t cease using drugs, in fact he feast A rebel, no cause, stupid little martyr Disease accelerated, he started goin harder Blowin grams of coke, buyin stamps of dope Felt like he’s in the crosshairs of a sniper scope Overdosed on pills, facin death at will All of life’s beauty didn’t fit the bill A few months later, slipped and got arrested Probation is a [expletive] and patience is a virtue If a mirror passed he smashed the glass Shootin up dope, throwin spikes in trash He started scheming ways to make cash fast Dealin out buds, [expletive]ed up, then crashed Another arrest, a step away from jail His whole [expletive]in life was like one big fail But his views have changed, now the chemist in a lab Finding dreams can had through the mic he grabs For the first time ever he feels alive Survival of the fit, only the strong survive

  16. http://www.otrbasketball.com/beat.mp3 You can sort of tell where I merged it, but that's because of the song and where you asked to restart it from. And, I added a fade at the end, song is around 5:30. http://www.otrbasketball.com/beat.mp3

  18. I am not saying it's all on Kubiak but it starts at the top and the coach always gets the burden of success and failure and you can't spin it in a favorable manner for Gary Kubiak. He's a nice guy and all, but I don't see anything wrong with criticizing him it comes with the job. He's had his chance and unfortunately for him lack of execution has made him look like a questionable coach in certain situations, at the end of the day the Texans have yet to make the playoffs and will end the year taking a step back no reason to defend Gary.

  22. Activity is better on other boards, for sure...but that definitely doesn't matter much to me. I'll take the general NBA knowledge we have. That's the entire point. I'd rather discuss basketball with Phil Jackson and Gregg Popovich, just those two, than 200+ football or baseball fans, all in the same room, that have never watched a single NBA game all the way through.

  26. No, but threads like these are extremely annoying, at least make your motives a little less transparent. You can express your enjoyment for a board without name dropping others. I am not even on that other board, it is just annoying when kids do stuff like that. You edited his post though at least.

  32. He's not a free agent. Here's the thing, though: what does that do for Denver? He's letting them know he wants just one team, and that he's leaving regardless. So, basically... "Hey, Denver, trade me to the Knicks before February (even if it means you're going to get ripped off), or lose me to the Knicks and get nothing in return come July. The Nets will give you Favors and picks? So? I don't want to go anywhere else, so deal with it." I would let the punk leave in July, so he is forced into signing a 70% deal, and two years shorter, after the new CBA screws him over.

  41. You just proved why the Lakers don't need to beat every opponent by saying that yes, the Lakers are the defending champs. The Lakers have already proven that no matter what happens during the regular season, they have what it takes to get it done in the playoffs...Twice. They're back to back defending champs, what have the Heat done? They're the ones that have a lot to prove. They're the team with 3 super star players. Like I said in a different topic, the Lakers could finish as the 8th seed in the West, but they'll still make it back to the finals waiting for the Celtics, Magic, or maybe the Heat. The Lakers have nothing to prove, the Heat have a ton to prove.
