I certainly don't agree with that list... as the best big three we ever had is not even on it. As a matter of fact the best big three ever is definitely Magic-Jabbar-Worthy, the showtime Lakers big three, I don't see how that can even be arguable. Well you could make a case for Garnett-Pierce-Allen, as it's the only big three whose three players used all to be leaders of their teams once, but the fact that they only won one ring together doesn't help their case. Besides Magic-Jabbar-Worthy dominated the 80's, the Golden Era of basketball, and won 3 rings together. They were all of them named MVP of the Finals (only big three in the history of which every player won Finals MVP), they're the big three with the most All Star appearances (19 for Kareem, 12 for Magic, 7 for James), the only big three of which the players are at least top 5 of All Time at their position, the big three with the most MVPs (and by far !) with 9 MVPs, etc... It's just totally impossible to make a case against them. Also I don't consider Jordan-Pippen-Kukoc, Jordan-Pippen-Grant, O'Neal-Bryant-Rice and Bryant-Gasol-Bynum as Big Threes... They were/are rather duos (Jordan-Pippen, O'Neal-Bryant and Bryant-Gasol). Horance Grant is one of my favorite players ever but he was never near a superstar, he was a star but not a superstar. Besides he made the All Star only once... Kukoc was a was important as a sixth man for the Bulls but he was not a star... The kind of player who was fantastic one day and horrible the next day... Besides he was a terrible defender and rebounder, especially for someone his size. Jax spent his time yelling at him to motivate him. In LA, Rice was no where near the player he was when he was a Hornets/Heat, he never reallly fitted well in the team, at the time he was just a scorer and nothing more. And Bynum spent too much time on the injury list to be even considered. Besides he's been very disappointing in the playoffs so I don't see how he's even mentioned here.2 points

Back a couple of years (06-07), I was really into making jersey switches for basketball sim leagues I was in, so here are some switches I've done in the past. The jersey numbers may be weird because I was using the jersey number that the game generated for the player. http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/5453/ppswitch.pnghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/PierceSwitch.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/KobeSwitch.png (Can't find original picture) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/GillySwitch.pnghttp://img694.imageshack.us/img694/9315/u4345p6t12d4790739f1286.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/LeBronSwitch.pnghttp://img502.imageshack.us/img502/6585/lbjswitch.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/ShaqSwitch.pnghttp://www.lakerswire.com/images/history/shaquille-oneal.jpg(can't find a bigger image...) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/BrandSwitch.pnghttp://img3.imageshack.us/img3/1706/w020060710282264567105.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/BenGordonSWITCH.png (Can't find original picture) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/BynumSwitch.pnghttp://img820.imageshack.us/img820/4818/andrewbynumdatingrihann.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/KiddSWITCH.pnghttp://img262.imageshack.us/img262/4708/nets43resize.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/ReddSwitch.png (Can't find original picture) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/bengordonswitchJAZZ.pnghttp://img202.imageshack.us/img202/3235/gordon300070104.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/KiddHawk.pnghttp://img51.imageshack.us/img51/2189/250pxkidd1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/RedickHawk.pnghttp://www.glogster.com/media/2/5/86/49/5864923.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/GregOdenSWITCH.png (Can't find original picture but it was after the Blazers received the number 1) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/KevinDurantSWITCH.pnghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a230/dd51/durant_kevin_120206_300.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/Switches/WadeSWITCH.pnghttp://img535.imageshack.us/img535/9200/dwyanewade.png All switches were done by me regardless of what anyone on the internet says, I've got all the PSDs on my external hard drive that is in storage. There are a lot of them looking back at that I think are very poor (LeBron, Shaq, Brand, Gordon Bulls, Bynum, Yellow Kidd) and if I wanted to, I'd go back and fix them and make them better. I was really into making them but just lost interest in them. Obviously my Wade one is the best one as I actually spent quite a bit of time on it, though even looking at that one, I find flaws on it. Anyways, let me know what you think, these were all made back in 2006-2007 with Wade made probably in 2008.1 point

Smart move by LBJ, why pay when you have the spotlight on yourself and other companies can profit from your marketability.1 point

Damn, gotta agree with Oliver P. Magic-Jabbar-Worthy should be on that list! And Jordan-Pippen-Kukoc, Jordan-Pippen-Grant, O'Neal-Bryant-Rice seems way too much like an 'artificial' trio - a trio created by those so-called analysts... <_< Edit: Trio added to poll: Kareem Magic Worthy (1980's Lakers)1 point

Just about what I expected, perhaps maybe a bit better.1 point

I have tried to get excited about this game, but it's kinda hard considering that's all anyone ever talks about. The NBA is so focused on the Lakers, Heat and Celtics that they ram it down our throats constantly. There could be a game that goes into triple OT and is won by a buzzer beater, but ESPN will have a 5 minute segment on the Heat after they get beat by 20. Just like the other day there was a good game and instead of showing more highlights/talking more about that game, they show highlights of the Lakers getting beat by the Bucks by like 20+. then they continue to talk about Kobe, This, Kobe That. I love the game of basketball, and I love my Spurs but the NBA is [expletive]ing terrible. There is a reason why NFL>>>>>NBA1 point

I don't find a lot of those bad "young" teams fun to watch or progress along. I'd venture to guess 70% of those teams with potential have a ceiling of 7th/8th seed in the playoffs (like the Grizzlies), and the other 30% maybe make it to a 4th or 5th seed tops (Blazers, Thunder). Generally speaking, the most successful teams are those who actively pursue talent via trades and free agency as opposed to simply letting a roster loaded with "potential" try and come into their own. Either way, if you take off 3 teams from each conference, the level of talent for the remaining teams gets much, much better. Give teams like Milwaukee and Indiana guys like Griffin, Love, Evans and Wall, and teams like OKC and Chicago guys like Landry, Hinrich, etc...they will get leaps and bounds better. The benches will be deeper. The level of play and competitiveness WILL increase. It gets boring to me too...but we aren't talking about a 10 team league. 20-25 teams would still be a lot better than 30 teams. I agree to an extent, but you are looking at it wrong. Even though there will still be a hierarchy of great teams, the level of talent for the lower level teams will be significantly higher than it currently is. And as a 20-25 team league evolves, the upper level teams will also get stronger. As talent has gotten better over the last 5 years or so, the top level teams are a LOT stronger talent-wise than they were in the early-mid '00's. IMO, and I think as the ratings show, in most people's opinions, this is better for the league. That will only get more profound as the league evolves with 5-10 less teams. Also, with less teams, that means less guys that have to play like superstars. A ton of players who are currently #1 or #2 options that should be #3 or #4 options will get a chance to play that role. The product is fine...but it would get better under contraction.1 point

Ahh, c'mon! It's a home game! You guys can do it!! This new Magic team is completely reinvigorated!Plenty of options on offense - remember that sick alley-oop: Hedo to J-rich last night? Look for more of the same...1 point

If anything, I'd be more in favor of the league expanding. The reason why some of these players put up such big numbers is because they're on bad teams. Place them on contenders such as the Lakers or Celtics, and suddenly they look a lot less impressive. Expansion creates more interest in the league. I don't see how that's a bad thing. So what if the majority of the league has no shot of winning a title in a given year? A lot of people (including me) love to support their hometown team. That's where the pride in the city comes in. I haven't witnessed one 50 win season for the Wizards in my life, but I will always support them. Sure there are some markets that have no business in owning a team, but there are a bunch of untapped markets doing fairly well.1 point

Anyone know when the last time the big marquee Christmas match-up was also the NBA Finals match-up? Last year, it was LA and Cleveland. The year before, I believe we played Boston. We played Phoenix in 2007, saw Boston in the Finals. The Spurs didn't even play on Christmas in 2006. Miami played the Lakers in 2005, met the Mavs in the Finals. Spurs didn't play on Christmas in 2004. Lakers played the Rockets in 2003, lost to the Pistons in the Finals. No Spurs in 2002's Christmas showdowns (do the Spurs EVER play on Christmas?)... The dynasty Lakers played the Spurs, Blazers and Sixers (in that order) and didn't play them in the Finals the same season. Second dynasty Bulls didn't play in 1995, then the Pistons and Heat the following two seasons. Houston played the Suns in 1993, nobody the following season. First dynasty Bulls played the Pistons, Celtics and Knicks on Christmas. The 86 Celtics played the Knicks in 1985, beat Houston in the Finals. The 82 Lakers played the Suns, beat the Sixers in the Finals. In 1980, the Celtics played the Knicks, then beat the Rockets in the Finals. I'm stopping there. Since the 1979-80 season, the two Finals teams were not the two that met on Christmas Day...and it has probably never happened in the history of the league (tired of looking). Last year, we lost to Cleveland. Devastating. Cleveland was nowhere to be found in June. I think a Lakers/Celtics match-up would've been much more interesting.1 point
