  2. "They should make shot-blocking illegal, because a player could come down and elbow another in the eye, tear the retina, and cause serious eye damage for the rest of that player's life. Probably stealing the ball too, depending on where the ball is held (ex. 6 inches near the face), and to be honest, maybe all players should be forced to play with their hands below the neck. Nothing but granny shots (with no follow through) and the ball must hit the floor before a rebound, and all players must be at least two feet away from each other at all times during a loose ball." - 2040 NBA Commissioner Chris Bosh

  4. I wouldn't even classify the Clips as a bad team. In the last 13 games they've gone 9-4, with wins at Chicago, against the Suns, Nuggets, Heat and now the Lakers. They also beat the Spurs, Thunder and Hornets earlier this season. Since 11/20 they are a .500 team.

  5. Decided to scrounge it up... Picked from the top 60 post count members, and only used those with 100+ reps. #1 - Nitro (1,801 posts, 297 reps, 6.06 posts per rep) #2 - Erick Blasco (1,635 posts, 177 reps, 9.24 posts per rep) #3 - Yugo the Impaler (4,940 posts, 443 reps, 11.15 posts per rep) #4 - Guru (2,817 posts, 221 reps, 12.75 posts per rep) #5 - IllWill21 (4,386 posts, 332 reps, 13.21 posts per rep) #6 - Built Ford Tough (2,237 posts, 147 reps, 15.218 posts per rep) #7 - Check My Stats (3,516 posts, 231 reps, 15.221 posts per rep) #8 - trutrojan8 (2,155 posts, 144 reps, 15.97 posts per rep) #9 - AboveLegit (2,270 posts, 137 reps, 16.57 posts per rep) #10 - Real Deal (11,891 posts, 693 reps, 17.16 posts per rep) Just thought it was fun to see. You have guys getting massive amounts of rep for their tremendous basketball knowledge at the top of the list, and guys like BFT, CMS, AL, and Real scattered throughout as well. Nice to see that basketball conversation still dominates this board even though there is such a wide variety of topics on OTR today. Yugo, Guru, trojan... No idea how we made it up there via subforums (mainly), but cheers anyway

  15. Let me give you an analogy. I worked at a CVS for 2 years, and had all kind of customers; very nice ones, annoying but tolerable ones, complete [expletive]s, etc... In my mind, like you said, I was trying to just keep my job and do my best with each. However, when I had the ones who were complete [expletive]s, I might not take a coupon that expired one day ago, may not scan the $1 off coupon on a pack of cigarettes, etc... However, with nice, polite customers, I would do those kinds of things. The NBA is similar. Fouls are subjective, and even though there are general guidelines, each foul is based on a referee's judgement. Let's say you get the equivelant of an '[expletive] customer'...you think those refs are going to give him the benefit of the doubt? Probably not. There are so many layers to it, and so many different analogies I can make, but basically what I'm trying to say is that referee bias is not just conscious, it's unsconscious; meaning, you don't even know it's happening as you do it.

  16. This game was frustrating as [expletive]. The major problems that pop out are: 1. Brady has sucked in the playoffs recently. He's lost his last three playoffs games, with him holding a lot of the blame in the last two games, both being the Patriots first game of the playoffs. 2. The Jets kept getting great field position all game. 3. Every time the Jets ran the ball it seemed like they would get about 5 yards, and the Patriots couldn't get any yards when they rushed. 4. Mark Sanchez stepped up and played very well. 5. I know Alge Crumpler made a nice play running down David Harris, but he dropped an EASY TD which I think could have been a major turning point in the game. 6. Everyone else on offense was invisible, and Brady kepy holding the ball too long. 7. The defense didn't play great, but they were put in terrible situations all game long. They did decent for the most part, but they let up a few HUGE plays. 8. The Santonio Holmes catch was an absolute killer. That may be the one play that was the most frustrating. 9 Tom Brady sucked. 10. Tom Brady sucked. The one thing that really stood out today was the lack of a real deep threat. I know the offense has played great all season long, but there's only so long you can go without a legitimate deep threat. Get me A.J. Green or Julio Jones NOW! Anyways, I am very disappointed, but trying to put a positive spin on it, no one really expected the Patriots to be any good this year, as it was supposed to be a "re-building" year, and they still went 14-2. I'm looking forward to the draft and seeing how they can improve their team even more. The O-line should be healthy next year, along with Leigh Bodden (starting CB) and Ty Warren coming back. They need to get a deep threat on offense, and they need to bolster the defense up a little with some legitimate pass-rushers.

  20. Bears have a good shot at winning it all this season, Martz and Lovie have both led their teams to SB's before, they know what it takes. And they can definitely beat the Packers at home, especially if the offense is clicking like it did against the Seahawks. But I'm still rooting for the Packers next week, should be a great game.

  28. I tend to agree with this. We don't know the entire story, we just saw that 5 second clip. If he realized the situation and processed it in his head and still decided to just walk right by, then it's a dick move. But we don't know if that's what happened. So lets not crucify him yet. Oh wait, that's already happened. Media FTL.

  32. LOL, we've been losing to bad teams all year long. No big deal. We do it every year. In fact, I probably would've posted a similar picture if I hadn't seen it in here. Good play, though. I know you were just dying for that one.

  33. I love Clay Matthews! btw, I'm hoping that ARod just didn't notice with his headphones on. If he truly did it on purpose, I have lost a lot of respect for him. I hope he makes it up to her and invites her to the game this weekend.
