Well, I'm not trying to say everyone should be like me. I run OTR because I'm obsessed with basketball, and that's basically it. I like to talk about it, learn about it, teach it, whatever...and it doesn't matter the team or player. I can go another 20 years plus doing this, as long as I'm in the middle of it, taking in and dishing out basketball knowledge. That's not originally why I put the board up back in 2005...but that's why I've actually kept it up for six years, and because of the posters that still frequent. If that means I'm the last one posting, on the last day, so be it...but being 27 years old, I don't party as much as I was when I was 19 or 20, watching games with a ton of friends and talking about them. I don't have high school or college. When something goes down, like a big trade, I would rather run to OTR and talk my ass off, and that's probably how it will always be. This topic wasn't created because I'm concerned about the site dying. I'm sure a few other site admins were stewing in that. It was created to poke at where we are in terms of activity, and how everyone else here feels about it, nothing more. Use the ideas? Sure, they will be considered, as always...but it's not that big of a deal. We are just fine where we are today. OTR has the best basketball minds among all other message boards out there, period. Someone can argue it...but they are wrong. That's what I care about. More activity means more distribution of that knowledge, which points to a growing community of knowledgeable members...more is always better. I'm thankful for what we have today, but you guys know me...I reach until my arms fall off.6 points

I should've mentioned...a really good way to do this quickly is to pick a division (ex. AFC West) and then start selecting the boxes of those topics that are about the Raiders or those other three unimportant teams nobody cares about in the division. You can then hit the next page button after you do that, still having those selected, and go through that page, so on and so forth until you've selected probably 15-20, then go to the bottom again and use the drop-down to move them all at once.2 points

Chris, Thank you for the letter. Sorry I couldn't reply to this last night; I was showing Andre how to keep his distance from 3-point shooters if we're up by 4 points at the end of the game, and plus, the site's CAPTCHA was too confusing to read (some of those letters look like lines and scribbles), and by the time I decided to register, everyone on the plane was sleeping. We are doing our best. We are taking care of Tony Battie's knees as much as we can. I think we'll still get about 6-10 minutes out of him for the rest of the season, but I can only pray. Allen Iverson keeps phoning me from some weird telephone number, leaving messages about how he should be starting over Jrue, not sure what that's about. Oh, and I'm happy to tell you that I had a dream about Michael the other night...we won eight championships together, he decided not to retire in 1993 because I was still there, then we ditched Chicago and suited up for the Sixers as teammates in 1998, dominated the league and got married one year later. Marcus Jordan looks just like his daddy, but has my forehead! Do you know we're the 7th seed in the East? Holy [expletive], I didn't know that, either. Time to get ready for the Bobcats tonight. I hope Michael is in Charlotte, waiting to greet me! Sincerely, Doug2 points

What are you talking about? The position that the Raptors are the strongest at is the power forward spot with Bargnani, Davis and Johnson all being solid players as well as guys like Dorsey and Evans (when healthy) who can give you a solid effort on the glass. Unless they are getting an All-Star caliber power forward, that is the last position that they should be looking to add to. Iguodala is a 3rd option role player who makes borderline franchise player money. What exactly is he going to do to help the Raptors? Not only would he not be the wing scorer that the Raptors need, but he would eat up all of the cap space and flexibility that Colangelo has managed to create in the wake of Bosh leaving. Why throw all of that away for a player who isn't even good enough to get you into the playoffs in an absolutely [expletive]ty Eastern Conference? The last thing the Raptors should do at this point is throw away all of their flexibility for an overpriced veteran, especially one who isn't even good enough to get them into the playoffs. Lastly, why trade away more draft picks? I know that it is only a 2nd round pick, but what exactly is the point in trading away 2nds when you are rebuilding? I can understand if it is a throw in when acquiring a decent young player (like a Bayless or something) but they shouldn't go around shopping any draft picks at this point in time. Amir Johnson shouldn't be traded either, unless it is for a starting caliber small forward who can grow with this team. He has been the Raptors best all around player this season, is only 23 years old and is locked into a very reasonable long term contract, assuming he continues this kind of play (and there is nothing to suggest that he won't, unless it is him being even better). I couldn't care less about Weems or Wright, but there is no reason for them to actively shop Amir Johnson considering how valuable he is to this roster. Do you enjoy being a fan of a perennial treadmill team or soemthing? Every single roster related post that you make seems to suggest that you enjoy being a fan of a team that will never, ever accomplish anything in this league.1 point

Jordan had eight 40+ point games during the season, with one 50+ point game (53 vs. Hill and the Pistons). He struggled a bit against Payton in the Finals, where Chicago would suffer only their second two-game losing streak of the year, but the Bulls capped off the season with a title, and a fourth Finals MVP for Mike. Greatest team ever? How long will we have to wait before another team wins at least 70 games? I'm curious as to how many people were actually watching basketball religiously during this season. I saw a ton of those Bulls games on WGN.1 point

Cutler is a douchebag and no one wants to see him play especially in the Super Bowl. Jets are getting too cocky and are boring on offense. And lmao at Cutler being sexy, he's a diabetic piece of [expletive]. GB all da way!!!1 point

Deng with more good defense contesting a Marion jumper and Tyson Chandler isn't worried about Rose's handle staying with a drive and blocking Rose's shot. Chandler has a firm case for All-Defensive second team this year.1 point

If Chicago and the Jets make it to the superbowl, it will be the worst ever IMO and I wouldn't watch it. However if the Pack and Steelers make it, then it would be one hell of a superbowl.1 point

Hate to break it to you, but FGA already take into account the threes attempted. And, when you speak of "how many shots it took," you don't include the free throws because they aren't a part of determining a player's efficiency, in that manner. There are many bad defenses in the NBA, every season. When have you seen a player, other than Bryant, score more than 62 points? I know you were too young to see Jordan's 69 or 64, D-Rob's 71, and besides Bryant's 81, 65 and 62, there's nobody else that has done it. And that's just asking for anyone scoring over 62 points.1 point

ICQ will always be the GOAT. Even the name is GOAT-worthy (I seek you). Back in the day, those HS girls would stay up until three just talking to you on ICQ (I was a freshmen when it was popular, and we all didn't have our licenses yet), just so their parents wouldn't hear them talking to someone else (ex. if they were using a phone). Beast. And every message you got, there was that "uh oh!" sound. Gonna go fire up ICQ right now, in fact, and see my huge contact list of people that haven't logged on since 1999.1 point

How old are you? Considering you probably aren't even my age, 20, you have no idea the kind of hype they received when they were alive. 2Pac was a huge star once he signed with Death Row, and had a ton of hit songs, appeared in famous movies, etc... Biggie, just 2 albums in, was considered the 'King of NY' before he died. Think about that. With Nas, a young Jay-Z, Big L, KRS-One, Rakim and many other NY rappers spitting at the time, Biggie had the city on lock with just 2 albums. His funeral where they drove his casket through Brooklyn looked like a funeral for a president: http://listicles.thelmagazine.com/wp-content/upload/biggiefuneral.jpg Think about how many rappers who were spitting at the time acknowledge them as arguably the best rappers of all time. You think they are biased because Pac and Biggie died tragically?1 point

Most of this list is comprised by somebody who looks at numbers and hasn't seen these guys play. Smith and Davis are good ones, but D.J. Augustine still isn't quick, still has trouble penetrating, and still can't defend. His numbers are better because he's starting. Noah I'll give you, he keeps improving his jumper, his defense, and his passing, but what exactly are Daniel Gibson and Tyson Chandler doing that they haven't done before. Arron Afflalo hasn't improved his game, neither has Charlie V. Dorrell Wright and Chuck Hayes yes, but all Brandon Rush does well is shoot. He isn't even the most improved on his team. That has to go to Hibbert or even A.J. Price. Gordon and Conley have improved especially Conley, but Lamar Odom and Shannon Brown have been exactly the same player. Of course Odom's having a career year. He's been starting. I agree with Nitro that Arroyo deserves some credit for Miami, though that's probably by default more than anything. CDR has had what, two good games this season? Beasley is easily Minny's most improved player. He's showing parts of his game he never showed in Miami. Kris Humphries is still the same player. He's just getting more minutes. Same with Bellinelli. These guys haven't improved their games at all. Felton's a good one, you can put Wilson Chandler on that list too. He's never been assertive, he's never had a terrific handle, and he's never been a great shooter, and he's improved all three aspects this season. Westbrook is still exactly the same player. He still can't shoot, he still can't run an offense, and he's all gambles on defense. Bass is a bit better defensively so I'll give you him, and Holliday. Warrick has been so bad that he's fallen out of the rotation in Phoenix. Some improvement. Matthews keeps adding to his game, but Beno Udrih is still the same unathletic mediocre backup he's always been. Manu Ginobili has been taking over games for what 8 years now? DeRozan and Millsap work, but just because Nick Young has an arbitrary 40+ point game on his resume doesn't mean he's not the same iso-oriented, defenseless chucker he's always been.1 point
