  1. Ya from my experience it's really not a problem, each professor deals with it differently at the start of the semester but none of them waste much time with it. As far as that statement HOV you might just be underestimating students common sense lol. I mean if you are a big distraction the professor will call you out, or address it after class but at the same time you have some professors who truly don't make an effort to explain the material well enough to keep students attention. So if you are going to call out the students on focusing I think it depends heavily on the professor as well. I only say this because I have been through the good and the bad and am guilty of pulling out my IPhone and getting online or texting during a horribly boring lecture. I have had professors who just could not speak and deliver the material well enough, I have had classes where I have realized I am better off studying the material on my own and understanding it than hearing the prof make a half [expletive] attempt at it, I mean I have had "paycheck" professors lol it sucks but it is a key factor when it comes to losing interest in a class. But I am with you as far as being mature going to class and learning for what you pay for, it's just the method sometimes fails in a big way. But majority of the students have common decency towards where you don't need strict rules to prevent chaos because at the college level you expect a certain level of maturity, no one forces you to come to class it's really on you so I think people that show up are literally willing to learn.

  5. Well yeah it is a very good one indeed, as I said I liked it a lot. But I just prefer PTA. Besides it reaches you emotionally too, I mean it's a nice friendship story. And it's even funnier IMO. But I have no problem with you liking Uncle Buck more of course, both movies are good, and as I said many times movies are first of all a matter of taste anyhow. And we sure don't have all the same tastes. Fortunately haha. It's about time you watch it pinhead ! I told you about this movie... I don't know at least one year ago ? Well anyhow glad you liked it, one of my favorite comedies. And yeah Kevin Kline's performance is great, my favorite movie of him for sure. He's just hilarious in that movie. Just like the great John Cleese and Michael Palin, two former Monty Python.

  7. I think it's stupid if the Knicks don't pull the trigger on a trade for Melo. I'm sorry, but you can find a Landry Fields in any draft, and he can't hold Melo's jock. You can find a PG in the draft or Free-Agency, but you aren't going to find a Melo. I think it's hilarious when people think it's stupid of New Jersey to offer up four 1st round picks. Go and look at the past 5 or so drafts and tell me the studs that are found at the bottom of the draft, which is where the Nets picks would most likely be. . *Waits for mention of Wilson Chandler*

  9. Mr. N/A, what you've just posted is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

  10. It's not just from one game. The game is averaging 25 and 8, leading the Bulls to a 3 seed, give him his props.

  12. Yes, he'll be a top player in the future. Doesn't make him a superstar yet, like Blake Griffin.

  13. Disagree with the bolded, and agree with the italicized. First of all, no one in NYC cares about the Nets. Once they are actually in Brooklyn in a few years, I'm sure they'll get their followers. But the Knicks in NYC and the history involved at the Garden is crazy man, I'm not sure if you're from the area, but there is a big difference. Everyone in the city is a Knicks fan. You don't find Net fans there. It isn't like the Mets/Yankees or Jets/Giants. Yes the Yankees and Giants are better historically, but there's still a ton of Met and Jet fans. Nets, however, their fan base is quite poor outside of NJ and it's evidenced by their ticket sales. Like I said, once they are playing in NY, they'll garner more NYC fans for sure...but it'll still be playing for the 2nd NBA franchise in the City; and this isn't even being biased...it's reality. Now, with the entire Wade Bosh LBJ thing...Wade recruited LBJ and Bosh. If Wade was in NY, the two would've come to NY. It really had nothing to do with the fact that it was going to miami and playing for that franchise over playing for the knicks. it had to do with wade was already settled there and he said hey guys come on down here we can do something special. Lets be honest. No one really expected that to happen in May when LeBron got bounced from the playoffs...No one expected the players to team up like that. There were speculations but no one expected that sort of teaming up. I do agree that the Nets and Knicks are still both very far away with building a Championship team. They'd both gut their team at this point for Melo...looks like NYK may just give up their three best defensive players and 3/5 of their starting lineup....they are very very far away from championship with their starting 5 being billups fields williams (i'd assume) melo stat The Knicks have only recently this past year been under the cap. Due to the idiocy of Scott Laden, he and then compounded by Isiah Thomas managed to run the franchise into the ground the past decade, taking on ridiculous contracts of overpaid, overrated super stars...took a while to get back but there's definitely a buzz back in the Garden.

  18. tl;dr I'm not going to argue with you over something stupid like this. And congrats, you've had atleast 20 teachers. Well I've had over 30 and graduate next year. Not really sure what the [expletive] you are trying to prove there so that is where I stopped reading.

  19. Not at Rutgers. Or any real school. You are paying to be there, they are being paid to lecture. It is not high school any more. Whether or not it is a distraction, their job is not to make sure you are paying attention but to LECTURE the class. Not teach, lecture. They aren't teachers, they are professors.
