Haha, okay then... Don't lie. First off, all of KG's missed games this season (nine) were also missed games for Perkins. Anyway... OPPONENT PPG, 2010-11 season 89.1 PPG with Perkins (1069 points) 91.9 PPG without Perkins (4229 points) 91.4 PPG without Perkins, but Garnett playing (3382 points) Garnett's nine games missed, Perkins also missed, so there's no reason to even discuss them. In the 12 games Perkins played, the opposing team scored over 96 points just once (101-97 loss to Dallas). That team (with Perkins) held the Magic to 80 points, and the Blazers to 78. Phoenix just scored 88. The Lakers (best offense in the NBA) was held to 92 points. The Miami Heat? Held to 82 points. So...without Perkins, and with a healthy Garnett, the Celtics allowed 91.4 PPG. With Perkins and a healthy Garnett, the Celtics allowed 89.1 PPG. ---------- OPPONENT FG%, 2010-11 season 42.1% (403-958) with Perkins 43.6% (1230-2821) without Perkins, and with Garnett playing So...without Perkins, and with a healthy Garnett, the Celtics allowed 43.6% FG. With Perkins and a healthy Garnett, the Celtics allowed 42.1% FG. Really? The truth is, the Celtics were lucky to play that out-of-shape Rasheed Wallace. They allowed just 83 points (their third best performance in the 24-game playoff run they had), and the only time they allowed 83 points or less was in the first two games of the first round, against the Miami Heat. It also helped that Drew played just 18 minutes, and took five shots, and was in need of the surgery he received after the series was over. Who defended Gasol in Game 7? It was Sheed, forcing Gasol into his third-worst shooting performance of our 23-game playoff run. Garnett couldn't do a damn thing on the glass because Bryant and Gasol had a combined 33 boards, and Sheed, Pierce, Davis and Rondo were making up for it. Three total boards for Garnett. Also, last season (and I remember seeing it on ESPN, before Game 7 and after Perkins' injury), the Celtics allowed 45% shooting with Garnett, and 45% shooting without, during the regular season. Next time you take shots at the community here, make sure you have your facts straight. Half of these guys will bury you alive in a basketball debate.3 points

Lol, the reason the Celtics have an elite defense is the system that Thibodeau implemented which remained unchanged after he left and its the same reason Chicago is such a good defensive team this season. However, its very hard to find a better one on one post defender than Kendrick Perkins aside from Dwight. Also, its not very smart right off the bat to make dumb comments like the one you made above telling people who have been on here for years that they don't know about basketball and just base everything off ESPN highlights.3 points

Do you honestly think a 3 free throw disparity, a couple missed calls (which likely went both ways), or a 7/24 outing from four combined role players had more of an affect on the game than Melo's 8/24 outing? http://i52.tinypic.com/311sy9l.gif2 points

lol well no shit....he had 4 all stars, 3 of which were hall of famers in the starting line up.. The common NBA fan would also say the same for Ben Wallace in his prime until they realize the bigger picture. His knee problems aren't as severe as you think. No they couldn't.2 points

Are you dense? He got $3 mil more than you said he should OVER four years, hence him making about .7 mil more/year. . Now, please apologize.2 points

According to Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com, Chandler was diagnosed with an ankle sprain, and though he won’t return to the game tonight, it’s unlikely that he’ll miss considerable time. Dallas doesn’t play again until Friday, which should give Chandler plenty of time to rest his ankle. That said, all of this is based only on the training staff’s initial determination of Chandler’s injury, and his status could change with more time for assessment.1 point

It's David Sterns fault that refs call Dwight for BS technical fouls. . If you say so.1 point

Dwight gets called for BS techs. I've watched about 10 Magic games this year and the techs he gets called for are laughable. He does the same stuff LeBron does after he gets fouled yet he gets a tech... Makes ZERO sense, [expletive] David Stern...1 point

I am not experinced enough to get a career but too educated for anyone to help me get a job...awesome. It's honestly so funny that high school drop outs are given goverment jobs that make nearly 20 bucks an hour yet because I went to college for two years, I can't qualify for anything. BULLSHIT! /rant.1 point

Hmm...never thought about that. Duncan has played a LOT of center since his last championship, especially in the last two seasons (probably 90% of the time, or more). In fact, rewind back to 2005-06. I know Nazr Mohammed was starting games for the Spurs, and there's no way Pop would start Nazr at the four. Same with Rasho the year before. I'm sure Tim was at the PF position most of the year back then. Oberto was playing PF for them when they faced Cleveland in the Finals. I forgot who the center was at the time. If it was Elson, he was playing limited minutes. Duncan probably split time between the two positions that season. Anyway...at the center position, he's below Wilt, Kareem, Shaq and Russell. Argue Hakeem, because much like Duncan, Hakeem was almost flawless on both ends of the court, and he put up better numbers. Top five center of all-time (probably 5th best).1 point

For essentially an expiring contract, you can't go wrong with trading for a 7'3 center loaded with potential. Memphis didn't have the big man coaches Houston has at their disposal such as Jack Sickma, who has done great work with Yao and our other bigs over the years along with Carrol Dawson. I know Hakeem comes down to Houston every summer and has worked with Thabeet in the past (even gave his 'seal of approval' before the draft), not sure about Dikembe but I've always hoped the Rockets would bring him back as a front office personnel or something. And of course there is the 7'6 monster himself, Yao Ming. So basically Houston has to be one of the ideal landing spots for Thabeet, plenty of guys that would work with him and hopefully groom him into a contributor.1 point

Hate to break it to you, but FGA already take into account the threes attempted. And, when you speak of "how many shots it took," you don't include the free throws because they aren't a part of determining a player's efficiency, in that manner. There are many bad defenses in the NBA, every season. When have you seen a player, other than Bryant, score more than 62 points? I know you were too young to see Jordan's 69 or 64, D-Rob's 71, and besides Bryant's 81, 65 and 62, there's nobody else that has done it. And that's just asking for anyone scoring over 62 points.1 point
