Deron never requested a trade. Kevin O'Connor made an offer to King shortly after the Melo-drama ended, and it didn't included D-Will. King countered with a deal including him, and that's when they worked their way to an agreement. Just about everyone was shocked that he was on the move. And Deron didn't necessarily have a better situation in Utah. They had lost 14 of their last 18 games prior to his departure, and who knows what the Jazz's plans were after Sloan's retirement. The Nets won five straight shortly after Williams' arrival (their first five-game streak since '05-'06), and we have yet to see the real Deron, considering the wrist problems that he has been playing through.2 points

Bargnani: When Raptors don't have the lead, don't shoot random jump shots of nowhere and pray to god for the ball to get in. Only shoot when you're open and use your size and skills in your advantage. Calderon: Look for the shot more often when you're open. Terrific shooter some nights. Ed Davis: When you get the offensive board, don't go for the lay up. Go for the strong dunk. You're 7 feet man. Reggie Evans: When you get the offensive board.. why do you pass it back? especially when we're getting blown up.1 point

I'd drop it to 62 games. 3 games against your division. 2 games against everyone else. I think the season is too long. Games throughout the year need to mean something, not just the latter half which is usually just for playoff seeding. I think the NFL and NASCAR are so popular because of this. Their seasons are comprised of very few events per team compared to their season length (NFL: 16 games in 5 months, NASCAR Sprint Cup: 36 races in 10 months). The NBA's season has half as many games as the MLB. Actually think about that. The strain that NBAers go through game-to-game, season-to-season compared to non-pitching MLBers is not even close.1 point

No. It's a long season, but not too much. I think baseball's 162 is way too many, but I think this is adequate. I wouldn't change it.1 point

agreed; I have no idea why Kobe is still trashing him in interviews. he must have been really offended by Smush's comments. I can't think of any other reason why he'd still be talking about him now. Kobe should have just been the bigger man and squashed it, but instead, he continues to trash a guy who's not even in the league anymore. I think that's a douche move, personally.1 point

Talk about a bunch of hypocrites in this thread. If this was LeBron saying this, people would be going crazy. Kobe trashes his teammates left and right, and this is two years late for his latest comment. Who cares if Parker made the first comment? You don't have to fire back and continues to be an ass. He's starting to get on M.J. level in terms of trashing teammates and being a douche. I hope he stops trashing ex-teammates and current teammates. And, it doesn't matter if Bynum was being shopped or not. That doesn't make Kobe's comments on Bynum any more right. . I like Kobe a lot, but some of you need to take your purple and gold glasses off, or at least take off your anti-LeBron glasses. It's becoming pathetic at this point.1 point

Jordan was also the one trying to teach Kwame, talking to him after Doug Collins was yelling at Kwame during practices and on the bench. Mike was also the one coming to practices early and watching film with the younger guys. But is it not true? If LeBron had said something about a former teammate in Cleveland, would the media and fans not blow the whole situation up? Almost every move he makes, every word he tweets, is being watched closely by the entire basketball world. The level of hatred towards him and the Heat organization is outrageous. Oh come on man, no one is trying to turn this into a LeBron vs Kobe thing...it's just that these situations more than often involve LeBron, and since he doesn't happen to be in this predicament, I'm curious as to how everyone would handle it.1 point

lool wow, thats cold man, sun yue is a world champ, he didnt have to break a sweat1 point

Let it be known that this isn't the first time Kobe has trashed a teammate. I don't understand why he even has to retaliate...it's Smush [expletive]in Parker, anything the man says is a joke regardless.1 point

Because what Smush did a couple of years ago was right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7adyWRtWoFM1 point

If this was LeBron taking shots at former Cleveland teammates, the world would explode.1 point

It's only newsworthy because players like Rose and others have no idea what that means. They probably think Stern has literally buried NBA players.1 point
