First less games and now less minutes..since when was there such a thing as to much basketball?2 points

Yes he did. If he doesn't say it who will? [expletive] the Media. [expletive] Derrick Rose. Dwight Howard should be MVP. How can you average 24 ppg, 14 rpg, 2+ bpg, shoot 60% from the field, be surrounded by garbage (yet still lead your team to #4 seed), and not be MVP? Also, Dwight has a higher PER and many other advanced stats I covered in THIS thread. Dwight Howard > Derrick Rose2 points

Huh? I've liked him since the beggining of the season, just because I didn't say anything on here doesn't mean I didn't like him.1 point

'your boy' You probably didn't even know who he was until the Pitt game1 point

That doesn't mean they need to take another 2-3 of them a game. I'd rather keep playing championship basketball, and not turn into the Orlando Magic. Bryant putting pressure on the defense allows those two to get off those shots, no matter if Kobe is making or missing jumpers against elite defensive players (I've considered Hill an elite defender for a while now, as long as he has two ankles). Kobe being "very predictable" to some teams means he's going to come down and draw a lot of defensive attention late in the game. Boston figured Kobe was going to take a big shot in Game 7 of the Finals, but it went to Ron Artest, who had a clean look at the basket...and that shot was huge. At the end of the day, Kobe doesn't care about his numbers. He was one assist away from a triple-double in the Phoenix game, and 15-16 game-minutes later, he still didn't have it because he was so dead-set on fouling Grant Hill out of the game. Plus, Kobe has been getting fouled over and over again on his jumpers, and the refs aren't calling it because he's not attacking the rim like LeBron does. He went ballistic in the Portland game, probably the angriest I've seen Kobe in a long time, after getting hit 2-3 consecutive times in the arm and getting bumped on a jumper before that. He was completely screwed over in the last LA/Miami game, three different instances of it late in the fourth. Phil has jumped the guys for not moving around when Kobe has the ball in his hands. They are all afraid to take the big shot. How many LA game-winners can you name that have come from anyone other than Kobe and Fish? Odom just attempted one against Phoenix, and I would've put $50 that the shot wasn't going to go in. Gasol had a tip-in against the Thunder, but he's not going to create for himself and take that shot. Fisher needs Bryant to draw the double and kick it out to him. Ron should never, EVER, create for himself. Drew doesn't play late in the game. I'm not sure what you guys expect. Two guys in the starting five are spot-up shooters, Drew is a black hole that never passes out of the post, and Gasol is afraid to play in the post unless it's against Bargnani, Jamison or Channing Frye. When you're the primary option on the team, AND you're expected to create for everyone (Kobe has been this since the 2000-01 season, co-primary option at that time), you're going to have to take shots that people won't approve of, whether it's you trying to draw in the defense and get no movement from teammates, or you're getting the ball with three on the shot clock. Kobe does take ignorant shots at times, going for the jugular when he really doesn't need to, but so do a lot of players that, really, should never go that route because they don't have the resume to.1 point

No, just players who earn a reputation as great players because they hit clutch shots. Billups is a career 42% shooter and while he takes relatively good care of the ball (around 2 career turnovers, although only around 6 apg), he has always had questionable decision making, especially with his shot selection (this guy takes pull up 3's in transition all the time, it'd be absolutely infuriating as a fan of his team). Do I think Billups is a bad basketball player? No, of course not. But he is not a great player either, and never has been, and I feel like his reputation as a big shot hitter has always kind of overshadowed his inefficient play. I also never really saw him as a great defender, he doesn't have quick feet, and while he was strong, that doesn't really matter against the elite point guards of the league. I guess it really depends how you rate Billups, but it felt like to me he was always overrated by a lot of people. Also quit having hurt feelings that I called Durant overrated. Once he stops turning it over as many times as he gets assists and stops taking step back jumpers against the good defenses, and gets you guys a playoff series win, I will stop calling him overrated.1 point

The NBA has media timeouts at the first dead ball after the 6 minute mark of the 1st/3rd quarters, the 3rd minute mark of the 1st/3rd, the 9 minute mark of the 2/4, 6 minute of the 2/4, and 3 minute of the 2/4. The thing is that if a coach of a certain team calls a timeout, those media timeouts are waved. The only time where the situation above arises is in the last two minutes of games, or if there is a long stretch of basketball that prevents the media timeout for a couple of minutes. This leads itself to 10-12 commercial pods during a 2.5 hour game, not including halftime. Contrast this with baseball which has 16 or 17 and usually runs a similar length to a basketball game. I've never been disrupted by the flow of an NBA game, only a college game where coaches have four timeouts a half and if they take one, it doesn't invalidate the media timeout. So you will very often have Coach Timeout, stoppage of play on same possession after 20 seconds, Media Timeout, Free Throws. Edit: I should have said "not including halftime" above.1 point

LBJ can't be the MVP. He's playing with a superstar! How valuable is he really is? Derrick Rose is the MVP! STOP HATING!1 point

First of all, is excitement worth more than the crowning of a legitimate champion? Because of small samples, baseball is a game where players and teams prove themselves over time. Because of fluky stretches, and the sheer amount of luck that goes in to baseball, it's impossible to say that the team that survives at the end of the postseason is the best team in baseball. In football, if a team has one bad game, it's eliminated from the postseason. That's an absurdly unfair system. It's the only system that can be reasonably played due to the nature of football's physicality, but let's put it this way, do you think that Patriots team that lost to the Giants loses four games to New York in a seven game series? What the NBA playoffs do is force teams to prove they're better by beating a number of different teams a number of different times. It champions the mental in that it forces a team to scout and prepare for everything an opponent does, and it champions the physical in that teams must often try and succeed with their pet plays taken away by scouting. With the exception of a handful of fluky circumstances the best team in the NBA playoffs ALWAYS wins. If someone thinks the NBA playoffs are boring, that's all fine and well and good. You're probably not a hardcore basketball fan, which is fine. But your advice will also carry less weight than an obsessive fan of the game.1 point

LeBron leads Rose in every stat individually, but because he chose to play with the Heat he is hurt voting wise. I'm sure ESPN will make a late push with LeBron for MVP to make the voting close between Rose and LeBron, but Rose will win and Dirk and Howard will get screwed over. Dwight is just like Kobe was back when Kobe averaged 35 ppg and got robbed of MVP. Only because...Dwight's TEAM isn't good enough for him to win MOST VALUABLE PLAYER. NBA is full of flawed logic.1 point

These two teams always seem to have great games whenever they play each other. I watched the one earlier in the year that had the Melo charge at the end and it was one of my favourite games of the year, and from what I have seen of this game, it has been another awesome game. Too bad Timmy is injured as I always enjoy watching him play against the Nuggets. I'm not even sure why, but I just love watching him play against this team. I really like what I see from the Nuggets, though. I've watched 3 games of theirs since trading away Melo and, even though they aren't as talented as they once were, they play with so much more effort and intensity that I actually enjoy watching them more post-trade as I did pre-trade.1 point

Howard's team does have the 8th best record in the NBA. I'm not sure what the problem is with that particular statement. Spurs, Lakers, Bulls, Mavs, Heat, Celtics and Thunder all have better records.1 point

Yeah, the readers of ESPN are about as intelligent as the writers and broadcasters for ESPN...1 point

So because he won a finals MVP, what, 6, 7 years ago, he can't have a 7 game stretch where he struggles? Hmmm...Sounds like an intelligent statement.1 point

Billups has always been pretty overrated, but I don't think it is really fair to put all the blame on him.1 point

Less games mean a less rigorous season means less injuries. Swish I'm as huge of a basketball freak as anyone, and I'm sure more than most, but general fans don't get into NBA ball because of the long season AND the long-as-butt games. Timeout, 1 minute of play, timeout, free throws, etc. I think a shortening of the season plus a speeding up of the games would be good. But we all know that the # of games will more than likely increase in our lifetimes and not decrease.1 point

I'd drop it to 62 games. 3 games against your division. 2 games against everyone else. I think the season is too long. Games throughout the year need to mean something, not just the latter half which is usually just for playoff seeding. I think the NFL and NASCAR are so popular because of this. Their seasons are comprised of very few events per team compared to their season length (NFL: 16 games in 5 months, NASCAR Sprint Cup: 36 races in 10 months). The NBA's season has half as many games as the MLB. Actually think about that. The strain that NBAers go through game-to-game, season-to-season compared to non-pitching MLBers is not even close.1 point

You're a [expletive]ing retard. Just because someone agrees with a comment a player makes, doesn't mean they 'hate' a certain player or 'love' a certain player. That's just a lame argument that people come up with when they got nothing else to say. If LeBron made a comment disrespecting Ricky Davis or some shit nobody should have a problem with it.1 point

Here's my Review after the first listen: 1. Deuces Feat. Tyga: Blew up after it was released on Fan of a Fan and rightfully so. 9/10 2. Up 2 You: Classic type R&B song with a GREAT hook. One of my favorites off the album. 10/10 3. No Bullshit: This was on his In My Zone mixtape with Dj Drama that released in 2010. Another solid track that flows real nice. Sounds like an old Jodeci track from back in the day to be honest but I'm not as high on it as other people are. 7.5/10 4. Look At Me Now: Obviously this is the biggest song aside from Deuces on this Album and although I prefer Twista on the remix to Busta on this album, it doesn't disappoint. 8/10 5. She Ain't You: This might be my favorite song off the album. It samples Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" and he absolutely nailed it. MJ would definitely be proud of this one. 10/10 6. Say It With Me: Potential club banger here with its fast pace. Definitely a song we'll be hearing on the radio soon enough IMO. Its a real Pop-ish song but I can definitely see it being played in the club. My only problem is that at 3:02 its definitely too short 8/10 7. Yeah 3x: When I first heard this song I thought of it as one of those lighter songs where you can tell he's trying to win back a lot of his former fans because it so different from what's he's been doing lately. I know a lot of people don't like this song but I enjoy it. Its kinda like a flashback to when he was making songs like "Run It" and "Forever". 8/10 8. Next 2 You Feat. Justin Beiber: Now before everyone dismisses this song because of Bieber (I don't blame you), listen to it first. I can't even hate on Bieber here as his parts aren't bad at all. And I can't stand the little [expletive]er. This is one of those that you dedicate to your girl. The hook is awesome on this one. 8.5/10 9. All Back: This one is up there with She Ain't You as one of my favorites off the album. Real strong/deep R&B beat with a nice guitar in the background and he kills it. This is one of his best songs ever without a doubt in my mind. 10/10 10. Wet The Bed Feat. Ludacris: This is one of those songs that you play when you're about to get it in lol. Luda, like every other R&B song he's been on drops a nasty ass verse. Probably the most sexual song on the album. 8.5/10 11. Oh My Love: This is the one of the weaker songs to this point on the album but that's not saying its wack by any means. This is definitely the most pop song to this point and almost has a disco type feel to it. I enjoyed it but compared the other stuff on the album, it doesn't really fit. 8/10 (Subject to change as its growing on me) 12. Compared to the other true R&B songs on the album so far, its not on their level. Didn't really enjoy this one to be hoenst 6.5/10 13. Beautiful People Feat. Benny Benassi: Definitely different as Breezy ventures into House Music for this one. He did pretty well with it though and this one is already being played in clubs everywhere, at least down here it is. Awesome beat to dance to with this one and he recovers well here after the previous 2 songs scored low for me. 8.5/10. 14. Bomb Feat. Wiz Khalifa: Not sure what to think of this one. A super pop-ish song from these guys when this duo could've really made something special between them. Not that the song sucks or anything, I'm just more disappointed in a "what could've been" type of way. 7.5/10 15. Love Them Girls Feat. The Game: Like "Bomb" I'm not sure what to think of this one either. Its one of the more dark/edgy songs on the album but its not really anything special. A song with Game isn't really something I'd look for on this album lol. 7/10 16. Paper, Scissor, Rock Feat. Big Sean & Timbaland: Not a fan of this hook on this one but it might end up growing on me. Timbo absolutely kills it with this beat and its heavy base-line and his part in the song is alright. Best part of this song is Big Sean's verse. As always, B I G Sean Don delivers. 8.5/10 17. Beg For It: The Final Song on the album doesn't really live up to the other R&B songs on here. Again, not that its a bad song, but its average compared to what we heard at the beginning and middle of the album. 7/10 Overall, I'm a huge fan of this album. I was expecting big things and Breezy absolutely delivered with F.A.M.E. This is without a doubt his best work to date, and that includes Fan of a Fan. This is one that is absolutely worth listening to. Final Rating: 9/10.1 point
