Justin, you need to ask her two questions before letting her move in. 1. Can you clean? 2. Can you cook? And that's not to be mean or anything, but there's nothing more frightening than seeing a full grown woman not being able to do either.3 points

My friend moving out may not turn out so bad. Cause this super cute chick I've been trying to get at for like the past couple months wants to move in with me. #winning2 points

In all honesty I think Swish well on his way to becoming a decent poster. Like Yugo said, Swish doesn't have a great understanding of the English language (at least when he's typing) and that has been his achilles heel as far as posting goes. Instead of attacking him it would be nice if some of the veteran posters around here would tolerate or even help out the new blood. I seriously doubt every single one of us made all these amazing posts and whatnot when you started out. I know I didn't when I was around Swish's age.2 points

It's cause of [expletive]ing idiots like this guy and Prodigy and some others that only come to OTR to bash on Swish and fail at backseat modding. How are we going to encourage new members to keep posting if we keep scaring them away and attempt to get them banned all the time? I was for the neg rep, until I saw some of the posts in this thread. It's really getting pathetic. Do you come to OTR to discuss basketball or pick on people to get a little green mark saying plus one next to your name to make up for your sad life outside of the internet? Honestly, the whole rep system is retarded now. A lengthy, well thought article by Erick or another writer will get one or two reps if lucky, but a "go play with your baseball cards" post will get 5+.2 points

The reason I haven't been posting as much as I have (especially this weekend), is because Friday morning, I got into a car accident that totaled the car we were driving. The air bags deployed saving both my mom's and my life. Happened at 6:50AM about 5 minutes away from home. We came out of the accident scratch free and bruise free. It was a three car accident. I wasn't paying any attention as I was looking down playing a game on m phone.... Here is what happened. We were in the left lane, I believe the car in front of us was in the left lane. He hit a lady in front of him who was turning right. Now obviously, that doesn't make any sense at all since there is both a left and right lane. So either the lady was making an illegal right turn...or he was in the right lane, saw that she was turning right, decided to try and go around her by going into the left lane. He ended up clipping the driver side of her car sending her spinning down the street she was turning, he then slammed on his breaks. We didn't have any time at all to break (though my mom did) and she tried to stop but smashed right into the back of him. Like I said, either she was making an illegal right turn or he was either trying to go around her when she was turning by going into the left lane, or he was in both lanes for some stupid reason and clipped her. Her car had a ding or so on her driver side as well as a flat passenger tire. His car's back bumper was messed up (from us smashing into him at 35MPH, the speed limit) and our car was toast. So one of them initiated the three car crash. The guy behind us almost hit us as well but was able to avoid it. I wish we would have gotten his name but he drove off because he had to go to work, though he did check to make sure we were okay, which we were. So after the entire thing ended, filed the report, contacted the insurance companies, my mom and I still went back to work at about 10:30AM. The reason we went back to work is because our work does NOT offer any sick or personal days (no, I'm 100% serious). We get 1 week of vacation on the anniversary of the time we started and that's it. I actually woke up Saturday not sore at all (thinking I was going to be since I wasn't feeling anything on Friday). I even still went and played basketball with my friends earlier tonight (Sunday). The entire accident did get me thinking a lot though, mainly about my little sister (11yrs old) who could of had to grow up without her mom and older brother. Thankfully, my sister was not in the car at all but it was the one thing that I first thought of once I found out we were both okay. I actually started crying just thinking about it and even now...it still brings a tear to my eyes. But we're okay and that's all that matters. I should be picking up my activity around here starting tomorrow hopefully. I've missed this place, hah.1 point

The people "hate because it's cool" is also the most overused excuse on the Internet. It has nothing to do with me disliking the guy. Dedication 1 and 2 and The Carter 2 are in constant rotation in my iPod. He just hasn't made good music since, and the music he has made is pittful.1 point

Lol Dash back to his old grumpy ways. It was a tough loss, great game extremely entertaining but man when you don't rebound and give up that many second chance points you would be lucky to escape with a win. Still it proves the Rockets are playing at a high level, unfortunately so are the Grizzlies. You might as well start watching the Hornets instead, they have a really brutal schedule that seems like the Rockets only chance. I STILL BELIEVE just the fact that they are battling for a playoff spot makes me believe anything is possible, I thought after the Battier and AB trade things would get shaky fast, it's been a very satisfying post all star break season.1 point

Well, yeah, it depends who you compare him too of course. If you compare him to the wackest rappers in the game, then yeah, he's pretty [expletive]ing good. But when you compare him to the legends like Big, Pac, Jay and Nas, he's not in that category. He's put out too much wackness.1 point

Just get rid of the entire rep system imo. It will stop a lot of the baiting. I'm all for poking fun at other members but some of us seem to be doing it in areas outside of off-topic which derails the purpose of this board. The only thing I like about the rep system is that sometimes I'll +1 a post instead of just quoting it and saying "I agree".1 point

So lately I rewatched Raging Bull. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IopqgrGpWhQ/SWaVl-THyBI/AAAAAAAABis/P5HuSxuCmC8/s400/Raging_Bull_poster.jpg Awesome movie I don't know how many times I watched it, one of my very favorite movies. Pure masterpiece. De Niro and Pesci are just unbelievable in it. This is my favorite scene of the movie : One of my favorite movie scenes ever. Totallly improvised by Pesci and De Niro, it's just great. So I definitely give it a 10/10. I also watched Alice in Wonderland. http://www.sewersurfer.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/alice_in_wonderland_ver6.jpg I was quite disappointed by it to be honest. I'm a huge fan of Tim Burton (and Depp) and this one was clearly not as good as his usual work IMO. Still a nice movie, very good graphics, but no more than that. The original version is much better. And the actress who plays Alice is just terrible, honestly... Don't know why Burton picked her. So I'm gonna give it a 6/10. Then I watched Network. http://atthemovieswithbillyandbrian.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/network-movie-poster1.jpg Very good movie, I had a good time watching it. The actors are all great, a very interesting view of the television network, very good satirical movie indeed. I'll give it a 9/10.1 point

If only we had video to show Randolph not getting out of the way of an iso, standing in the middle of the paint for no reason, running away from the ball when he had a chance to salvage the possession into a screen/roll...you know, understanding the game of basketball...oh wait we do! http://nbaplaybook.com/2011/03/25/minnesota-lacks-a-plan-late/1 point

There are several MVP candidates in the league this year and LeBron James is definitely one of them. He has better teammates than ever indeed but the fact that he's averaging the same stats that he was in Cleveland shows that he's still as important to his team as he was in Cleveland. Besides, even if it's true that they tend to give the MVP to a player that does more with less (which seems quite logical indeed anyhow) you definitely can win MVP while playing with great teammates. Bill Russell won several MVPs despite the fact that he was surrounded by players like Jones, Havlicek, Heinsohn, Cousy or Sharman. Moses Malone won it despite the fact that he had Erving and Cheeks for teammates. Larry Bird won it despite the fact that his teammates were McHale, Parish and DJ. The last year he won it there was even Walton in the team (even if Bill wasn't exactly the player he used to be by then because of his injuries...). Magic won it despite the fact that he was surounded by Jabbar and Worthy. When Shaq won it the Lakers were the better team in the league on paper (except maybe the Blazers). So it can happen. This said it is true that right now the clear MVP is definitely Derrick Rose. For a simple reason : who would have thought that the Bulls would be the best team in the East before the season started ? No one. Everybody was talking about Boston, Miami and Orlando. Yet they are. Not only that but Derrick led his team to the best record in the East despite all the injury troubles they had. Boozer missed more than 20 games and Noah more than 30. What Rose has done this season is just beyond belief. Meanwhile most people were sure that the Heat would not only win the ring for sure but would even win more than 70 games... The result ? They have now 0 chance to win 70 games are right now the 6th best team in the league. So in short we have two players who are both having a terrific season and would both deserve to be MVP indeed but the fact is that James hasn't led his team to its expectations while Rose has led his team to an even better level than it was supposed to be. Again despite the fact that the Bulls had so many injury troubles... So it's definitely impossible to make a case against Rose right now, he is the clear MVP indeed. Now the season is not over yet. And there are other MVP candidates. Dirk Nowitzki is definitely one of them, we saw how important he was to his team when he was injured. And if he wasn't injured the Mavs would probably have the second best record in the league and would be very close to the Spurs right now. The other two in that top five candidates are certainly Durant (who among the top candidates is probably the one who has the less good teammates) and Dwight. However both teams' record is probably not good enough right now. Especially for the Magic, they haven't been as good as they were supposed to be (this can be explained by the fact that they had an important trade during the season) so I would be surprised if Howard was named MVP this year. So IMO it will be either Rose, James or Dirk. But honestly I don't see how anyone else than Rose could be MVP. Because the only way that Dirk or James could be MVP is that the Heat or Mavs would have a much better record than the Bulls. As a matter of fact contrary to Chicago they were both legit contenders to the ring before the season started. Yet the Bulls have right now a better record than both of them, and even if the Mavs and Heat can still have a better record than Chicago at the end of the season we know now that whatever happens (unless the Bulls lose totally their basketball during the last 24 games, which is more than unlikely...) they will not have a much better record than them. There is no doubt that Derrick deserves to be MVP this year.1 point
