  1. You'd probably forgive Bin Laden if he shot hoops with Kobe.

I completely wrote and produced this song, using "The Realest" instrumental by Mobb Deep (Alchemist instrumental). First time I ever wrote a chorus too, although I used the template from the actual song. Lyrics are much, much crisper than my Dead Presidents one. Enjoy! R/H

  7. As harsh as the penalty is, what Kobe said is incredibly dumb and offensive. I don't care how often it gets said away from the camera or how often some of you say it. Not saying I'd have given a $100K fine if it was up to me, but maybe this will get people to think before making homophobic remarks in the future.

  8. if you replace the word he used with a racial slur toward white people, you guys would have a problem then. make up your mind. slang or not, it is an offensive term. i'm not sure if it warranted 100k, but he definitely shouldn't have said it

  9. You mean, most of you defending his actions? If this was LeBron, you would be outraged, and this thread would be 5+ pages by now.

  13. So because you're immature, why do you want to punish others for it? Legally these guys are adults, they should be in the NBA. If they want to ruin their lives, it's their choice. Going to college and earning a 4 year degree doesn't mean these guys are mature or their lives won't be ruined. But the truth that the NBA doesn't want to admit is that HS players succeed more often than they fail. For every DeAngelo Collin's or Leon Smiths there are more DeShawn Stevensons or DeSagana Diops. The NBA and NCAA needs to stop with this BS about them caring about the player's well-being. They don't give a crap about the players. The NCAA is only worried about having quality indentured servants that can help their product. The NBA doesn't care about these guys either. The quality of the game isn't deminished by HS players, the best players in the game have been HS players. It's the owners that want the rule because they can't figure how to scout these guys.

  14. Love the quotes from Adelman at the end. Blinebury is a witty guy and a very smart journalist that usually tells it like it is.... he used to be a Chron guy but obviously the NBA took notice of him and snatched him up. I can completely picture Alexander giving Adelman the cold shoulder, that seems to be one of Alexander's drawback as an owner, he gets bored fast. He loves change, he loves being active during the deadline and draft, so seeing a contract run out probably makes him anxious and excited to see what else is available, I guess that's the fun of being an owner lol. Ricks got tons of support from his players, and I think at the end of the day that should speak volumes. I doubt a single guy in that locker room (except for T Will lol) dislikes Adelman, and even T Will I am sure still respects the guy just based on history. You gotta be sure as an owner that you have someone/something better out in the NBA world, because replacing a guy like Adelman IMO is a tough thing to do. You know what you are getting from Rick, and I think as a team the understanding became mutual in the second half of the season, that was clear everyone was on the same page. Ricks right it is tough when you barely had Tmac or Yao to work with, it sounds like a worn out excuse but it's to significant to not bring up, all in all once again Rick has proved why he's an incredible coach. I don't want to see him go because I don't think the Rockets can get a better replacement.

  17. So is that a reason for every high school player to have to wait two years to play in the NBA? Because they might not be good? What about the players that DO wind up good, like the Kobe Bryants and the Kevin Garnetts? Is it really because there is a chance you might end up with a Kwame Brown, that there should be a rule against it? What about the college players that might NOT be good? You may wind up with a Tim Duncan, or you may wind up with an Adam Morrison. Would that be a reason to force players to play in the Euroleague after college before the pros? Or can we just admit that it's all BS. Players might be good making the transition from college, making the transition from high school, or the Euroleague. Or they might be bad. But in the end, you know who's choice it is to draft them. The team and the management. They need to do the proper scouting to make sure they got the right guy. If they didn't, it's their fault. It's was their choice. Besides, teams are starting to draft players that aren't quite NBA-ready and allow them to develop in the Euroleague before fully adding them to the roster. It's not like you can't do the same with high school players! Just admit it. It's only because college is losing public interest because all the good players are going to the NBA draft younger and younger. All the good players that puts colleges in the spotlight, like the Bird - Magic rivalry, are becoming scarce. It's simple. They want the good players too because they want to keep making money off it. And that's BS. I say, the best league should get the best players no matter what. If you are good enough to play at the highest level, there should be nothing holding the player back. Besides, you don't need an education to be good at basketball.

  18. Something to note, though, and sort of related to what you said about him knowing he's not a good three-point shooter: he has only five games attempting three a game, and that's the season high in attempts for him (2-15 in those five games, by the way). And, just for kicks...that chart above shows the bottom 20. Jordan attempted 53 threes in 1987-88, shot 13.2%. Also, Magic Johnson went 0-21 from three in the 1982-83 season.

  20. As a complementary player I find Russell Westbrook to be much better. As a nucleus player, I think Monta Ellis is better. Ellis strikes me as a much more selfish player always concerned with lighting up the scoreboard. He's got the attitude as a go to guy anyway! Westbrook, however, is much more versatile, bigger, and unselfish. Ultimately it will depend on the system these guys are in. Straight up one on one, I think Westbrook will show he's better by winning 2 outta 3.
