  3. A franchise player is a primary scoring option that you build your contender around. If you have any doubt that said player is a primary scoring option, and even think for a second that he could be a better second option...then he's not a franchise player. Danny Granger is a great example. So is Andre Iguodala. Monta Ellis. Kevin Martin. Blake Griffin (when he finally fell back down to Earth). Even better example? Pau Gasol, when he was in Memphis. He was traded to LA, became a second option, and actually played better (individually) and won two championships in that role as well. Kevin Love is more Gasol than he is Dirk, as of today...not so much the style of play, but in the ability to fulfill that role. You asked if Dirk could win it all without Jason Kidd? Who knows, but he had Dallas contending for a decade without Kidd, and he was in the 2006 NBA Finals without him or Nash.

  5. First one has to be the Lakers (since I just created LakerNation's banner). http://www.discusshoops.com/forums/forum/24-los-angeles-lakers-team-forum You'll have to hit F5 (refresh) or the refresh button on your browser, more than likely, to see the new banner.

  6. Nope. He can score and board, but he just doesn't have that consistency. Definitely not a Dirk, and Larry Bird is entirely out of the question.

  7. He probably came to the realization that Milwaukee would be one of the only teams who would be stupid or desperate enough to give him a max contract.

  9. The coach did quite a bit to help Jordan out though. You think te money means anything to MJ btw? He makes that money while sleeping.

  10. This shit will someday be the downfall of this website. If we have one more instance of this, people baiting each other and acting childish, I'm going to insert 3-4 members into a poll into the staff forum, and I'm going to allow my moderators to take a vote, to see which are going to be banned for life, accounts deleted and IP addresses banned. I have been the reason why the mods haven't decided to take care of this mess yet, for the sake of keeping guys around, but now, things are going to be much different...and I have a feeling members will be shocked to see who goes (one, or all).

  14. If it was more about guys that are cocky and, yet, can't back it up as an all-star player...well, I'd be posting a list of 100 guys. There are a lot of them. DeShawn Stevenson comes to mind. JR Smith, Brandon Jennings, Ron Artest (no longer an all-star, of course), Eddie House, Rafer Alston (when he played), Lance Stephenson...quite a few of them out there.

  19. He's not going to do that to Kobe and Phil. Go ahead and quote me. If anything, Buss doesn't give him his money and eventually doesn't want him anymore. Fisher wants to stay in Los Angeles more than anyone on the team not named Kobe Bryant or Ron Artest.
