  1. Gotta have the name on the front of the jersey. It just doesn't look right without the team or city name.

  2. Explain please. He's a very efficient scorer, an amazing playmaker who never turns the ball over, a solid rebounder, one of the best ball thiefs in NBA history, and a fiery competitor. The only two knocks I have of him is he sometimes defers too much as a scorer (he proved he could be a 23PPG scorer when he wanted to in the past), and his size defensively hurts him sometimes. Besides that, there is absolutely no way you can say he is overrated, especially to the degree you are saying he is. The impact he made on the Clippers last year was enormous, and it showed in their huge jump in the standings compared to the previous season . If he had a more capable coach and balanced roster, I feel they could be true championship contender.

  3. ....uhmmm, Chris Paul was one of the most clutch players in the league last season. I don't know what you were watching. He's always been a great player down the stretch of games, but last year due to the incompetence of Del Negro, he was basically forced to do everything. He stepped it up a notch last year by getting to the line more, which is absolutely huge in the fourth quarter, and with CP3, it's basically an automatic 2 points.

  5. Lol why do so many albums leak around the same time? I'm still trying to digest this new Flying Lotus album. I'll give this a listen later tonight.

  6. Elementary school recess, not prison recess. I actually played a lot of soccer up until the 4th grade, since almost everyone else did. We had a full court for basketball, but we could never get a game going, so it was boring to me. Fourth and fifth grade, we were able to play tag football, and that was my thing. I was always the QB, haha. Sixth grade (which was the last time we had a recess), it was all basketball. Different school, three different courts, and football wasn't allowed because we basically had it banned the first week because we were tackling, lol.

  8. There really shouldn't be a rep system to begin with, because it's not being used correctly. For the same reason people would give positive rep to a funny post, someone would give a negative rep to a topic they don't like. For instance, that LeBron mock commercial...if Lkr were to post it (being a Lakers fan), there would be negative reps from the Heat fans here. He would get it just for posting the video. Same with a post dealing with religion or politics. Anyone could write up a very well-written post defending God (or not), or against Obama (or for), and it would be hit with negative reps by those who just don't agree with it, which would be half the site. In addition to that...seeing who gives you the positives means you'll be able to see who gives you those negatives. I can't code in something that does one and not the other in this system. I don't need to explain why that's a bad thing. Ask the RSZ members how groans work over there. You can go into some topics and see people "groaning" others' posts for no reason at all, only because they have done the same to others...and it got out of hand QUICKLY. This is a bad, bad thing to implement into the board. I would honest rather just drop the word filter if we're going to make any change at all.

  9. Wouldn't let me. I believe the dollar sign is an illegal character for display names.

  10. I started on them, actually, and ran into a brick wall because there were a few players I didn't have good enough pictures for (like Amare and his new team). The Wizards forum has a picture of John Wall...but he's in his Kentucky uniform. It's something I've done every year since 2005, actually...and I THINK OTR was the first message board to ever feature players on individual team players (took the concept from NBA.com's team sites). The goal is to get it done ASAP. It would be nice if I had HQ pictures of these teams' best players, especially the new free agent arrivals and rookies. Just a work in progress right now.

  11. I shared an account with my brother last year, and they cut it off after a week. The database logs IP addresses, and the typical rule of thumb is if two different IP's log in within five minutes of each other, and their sessions last over ten, it's being shared. It will flag your account, and by the end of the week, you'll more than likely lose your LP.

  12. The season is almost here, and I just feel like I need to leave feedback and suggest a few things before the preseason games start. After the Finals, our activity actually increased. We all know why. The free agency "season" was a big hit for us. However, we hit that nasty offseason wall we've been crashing into every year we've been up (five offseasons, by the way). Baseball talk was okay, but the football talk has really helped us out lately. I was upset a few times because of the way we treated new members, and I wasn't too impressed with all of the personal attacks. We've cleaned that up a bit, maybe due to a couple of members being banned. Well, we have to sustain it. Activity is always important, of course, but I would rather have 100 active intelligent and respectful posters over 200+ that are active and immature. Would it be nice to have activity similar to RealGM? Probably, but not at the expense of forum chaos, and eventual downfall. So, with that said, thanks for hanging in there for the couple of months we're forced to go through without basketball to talk about. I appreciate all of the hard work you guys put into the forums...even you Heat and Celtics fans.

  13. You'll see ads in the sidebar pretty soon. No pop-ups, ever (those were the ads I absolutely hate and will never put up), and no highlighted/underlined ad links in the post (can't stand that, either). I know you guys were asking about donations, but I can't take money from you. I won't accept it. You shouldn't have to pay to talk basketball, so you won't. If the ads do help pay for the hosting and software updates, and there's money left over, it will go to prizes for games we have in the future. Could help draw interest when we do hold contests and such.

  14. Probably not, haha...just going to mess around and see what comes out of them. And by the way, guys, the site will stay up no matter what. The ads will just help with hosting and the updates. I don't have any plans on selling the site, merging with anyone else, or shutting it down...never. I'd just rather do this, than accept donations. Just not my thing...and to be honest, I would actually take these sidebar ads down if most of you thought they were too much of a distraction.

  15. Use AIM. We don't delete posts, and I'm not going to close topics I find valuable to the forums just because a couple of members continue to go at each other. And spammers who only care about posting their blog links? You can post videos in your About Me section. I'm not going to allow video uploads, because I don't have the server space for that. Status updates have been around longer than you were registered here, so how do you know if OTR was better? Never going to happen.
