Shut up you little Chi-town chump. U mad Boston, NY, and Philly>>>>>>>>>CHI? Please go. The news is really making it such a bigger deal than it is when there's massive flooding, subways are shut down (8mil+ people in NYC each day), and much more damage. The northeast isn't used to this type of weather. We mainly get snow, but suck it up unlike you mid-west fairies.3 points

LMAO Ray called James Jones by the name of James Johnson. He realized he [expletive]ed up, couldn't remember his name, so he stuttered a bit and then just called him JJ. Hahaha.1 point

I'll add them pretty soon, promise. Gotta finish up the team schedules and rosters first, and that won't take too long.1 point

Its really a shame this game isn't in Boston. I know they are doing the rings but still, seems like a waste to have the ECF preview in such a shitty arena. You know the Garden is gonna be electric when the Heat come to town.1 point

So I'll give us a 15 point spread... this might get ugly.. no Dirk, Kaman, our current starting lineup consists of Eddy Curry.. this should be fun.1 point

My girl was pissed when she heard the news, haha. I'm not going to say this is a huge step down for OKC, though. Kevin Martin could be more efficient in a limited role. When was the last time you saw Martin deferring to a couple of all-stars (one being a superstar)? It could help him focus on the defensive end as well, but you're not going to see THAT big of an improvement on that end of the court (by him). Still, his poor shooting may not carry over, and both Durant and Westbrook will help him get easy buckets. Meanwhile, Lamb's game may fit in perfectly. We all know what he can do, at least in college, so whether he's out there scoring on his own, or feeding off of Durant and Westbrook...it could still work out well, doesn't matter if he's a starter OR playing behind Martin. Thing is, you're putting everyone on the table in hopes that Martin will accept such a role AND Lamb will pan out to be the player we all expect him to be...and this is coming from a team that was in the NBA Finals just months ago, with a very young core. Presti knew Harden was gone, though...and if you're going to trade him by February, you do it now. The later you keep him, the bigger risk of injury AND the lower the value. Teams would rather bring him in now and play him 82 games. Otherwise, you let him walk in July...and go into the playoffs with the same team that, actually, may not have a chance against the Heat OR Lakers to begin with (don't think they did anything to show they can beat the Heat one year later). It would be nice to see Durant reach into his skillset and pull out improved passing abilities. That will benefit both Lamb and Martin greatly, and will help make up for what is lost with Harden, who was HUGE coming off the bench and facilitating for that second unit. ---------- For Houston, it makes sense. You get rid of Martin's $13 million, even if it's an expiring deal, and in the process, you deal a rookie for a proven borderline all-star in Harden. Now, whether or not Harden deserves that max deal...or if he's a primary option...that's not the point. Right now, you know that Harden is more qualified for it than Jeremy Lamb, and Martin just isn't going to get it done in that large role (never really has). So, with all things considered, the trade was good for both teams...for the Rockets right now, and for the Thunder in the near future (and, possibly, right now...you never know).1 point

There's only one movie that creeps me the [expletive] out, and it's Carrie...even today. Not so much through the majority of it, but once she's covered in blood, it's just different, lol. Anyone scared of Paranormal Activity (the series of movies)? I haven't seen any of them since the first one, and I thought the first they put out was just dumb.1 point

Erin (a Sixers fan that was one of our original members) created our very first banner, which you'll see at the top. I thought it would be great to show it off. Happy birthday, Erin. Some of you will remember her, no doubt about it. She racked up plenty of posts, and I believe she created sigs for a lot of people. EDIT: removed it from the header, so here's the banner Erin created back in 2005... http://www.otrbasketball.com/banners/OTR2005.jpg1 point

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!?! Maybe I did, lol. I was planning on going to the draft with her one year, had the trip ready and everything, and the plan just fell through. She sent me something pretty cool in the mail once...wonder if she still remembers that. Had something to do with basketball...and I'm pretty sure I still have it, boxed up from when I moved a while back.1 point

If you have Facebook, like our page, and even use the Share option (left sidebar on our page) to get others to like us. It only takes 10 of you to get 3-5 of your friends on board (each), which could recruit at least 10 of those 30-50 as very good posters here. Our link... http://www.facebook.com/otrbasketball Twitter? Follow us, and please help us out by using things like #FF (follow Friday) and re-tweeting our articles to your own followers. http://www.twitter.com/otrbasketball Thanks everyone.1 point

You'll see a button in the right sidebar for site donations. Truth is, the hosting went up a little bit, and I'm not going to drop us down to a shared hosting plan, despite our lack of activity, because years ago, I was sick of the ups and downs, online/offline status we had. There isn't much out there when it comes to shared hosting, too many limits (most importantly, harsh caps on PHP memory limits), so we have to stick with what we currently have. Every single penny will go towards the site, and if there's enough left over every month, it'll be used for the following month. Also, all donations will be tracked in your profile and to the left of your posts. If you have suggestions regarding what benefits a donating member can receive, leave them in here. I'll entertain all ideas. Thanks guys.1 point

The hosting hasn't been the same all the time. Costs did go up on all of the semi-dedicated servers, though, and I'm needing more HD space for what I'm doing with the website portion of OTR, so I'll more than likely have to bump back up to the second package. http://www.mddhosting.com/semidedicated.php If you combine that with the IPB board software and the video system renewals, it's just getting a bit ridiculous to pay for some of this stuff when I'm getting bombarded with medical bills (guess it's that time of the year). The kidney failure scare really put a nail in the coffin, because most of my eye issues were paid for (the major surgeries, anyway). We aren't sitting on a dedicated server hitting me up for around $200 a month, but the semi-dedicated plans are still pulling from my wallet when I'm hurting for money. It's asinine having to pay around $140 for cable and internet, $220 for electric, a car payment, house payment, and still expected to spend all of your money on unnecessary gas and food prices. Bills are a part of life, that's cool and expected, but the food and gas are killing me when I'm also having to pay off massive medical bills and a couple of loans. I'm not actually asking anyone to donate anything. All of you know I've always stated I never wanted to make money off of OTR. When I added Google Adsense (ripoffs), that money would have gone to the site if they decided not to shut me down exactly 30 days of promoting their clients. The option is just there for anyone that wants to say they made a donation to the site, to say they did a little more than post. The truth is, active members do enough just by posting. OTR won't close down, either way. Zero donations means I'll pay the entire hosting bill. Nothing changes. By the way, I did get a donation already...and it's from an anonymous member. I actually know what member it is (lol), so I'll just say thanks for the help, and that they can PM me if they want me to say their name (or that member can just do it here).1 point
