  1. :wallbash3: I haven't talked to the guy in a while (because he lives in Florida now), but it would be hilarious to get him to sign up and post why these chips won't do anything BUT what they are designed for, and why PositiveID would have to hire an entirely different design team (separate from the one my friend is a part of) to completely change the chip. No point in it. Layman's terms...you can't take a blood sugar monitoring chip and turn it into whatever the hell we're even talking about...without completely scrapping it and rebuilding it. It's not about soldering an extra piece on the chip. I can't believe I have to explain this. By the way, VeriMed is probably what you're referring to, and it has been stopped in its tracks for reasons you should already know about (if you've been doing your research). PositiveID is losing money, quickly...and their main products, which relate to diabetes, are what they are banking on.
  2. ...same can be said for a TV remote, cell phone, a chip in my stereo system, a stick of RAM, my blood sugar machine, and an Atari. Just...nevermind.
  3. Foolish. For one, a carpenter, electrician and a plumber don't sit there and perform maintenance on your house every single day, once it is built. They don't live there every day. One can go years without them accessing it. These "chips" that PositiveID are designing for diabetics are designed for one purpose. You don't understand the build of the chip, apparently. The designers don't end up leaving the company after they are done, so don't compare this to a house that has been built. You can't go into my computer, take out the memory sticks, and use them as a tracking device UNLESS you re-design them as such. You can't take a processor and do that. You would have to completely re-design it, and what's the point of designing ANYTHING if you're going to decline to use it? So, again, the design team creates these for a purpose, and the purpose is not what you dream of at night. To make these chips do anything outside of that, you'd have to have an entirely new chip and design. Like I said, you can think what you want, but you're wrong on this one.
  4. For both McGrady and Howard, I'd shift the blame over to the front office. I realize the Magic put together a team that reached the Finals in 2009, but once that happened, they never really did anything to improve, and they felt Howard was going to continue to carry them without getting over that hump. People said the same about Cleveland and LeBron, too. Shaq is different, though. I felt like he never gave Orlando the chance. He had dollar signs for pupils the day he started playing over at LSU, and he knew where to go to make the best of his career, money-wise. I mean...with McGrady, he lasted 4-5 seasons in Orlando, after Toronto dealt him for Fran (lol), but that team was absolutely horrible. Dwight has been there since 2004. As noted by Nitro, Penny's career was basically over before he even thought about leaving Orlando. But Shaq? He gave them four years, reached the Finals and was swept, got to the ECF's and was swept by the Bulls, and then he bailed, despite having an all-star teammate in Penny (and Hardaway was a four-time all-star before his big injury, twice before Shaq's departure).
  5. This tells me just how ridiculous this article is. All talk. EDIT: DefCon. Oh wow...lol.
  6. I know you love believing the conspiracy stuff, and it's cool to think that 9/11 was an inside job, that there's an Illuminati, whatever pops up online...but again, I know for a fact these chips being created can do no more than what is being told by the company. The main guys that "run the show" are those designing the chips, and for what it's worth (and it should be worth a lot), I know one, personally. Let me put it to you this way: sometimes, I'm hired to create a website for a company, and I'm sometimes asked to manage it as well...just as the designers of this chip. I code the site from scratch, using Notepad, and I know EXACTLY what the site can be used for, what kind of information the database can store, etc...especially since I'm the one managing it after I design it. I don't need to explain how this relates. Who? Facebook, MySpace, ICQ, MSN, AIM...they have all stored information in a database, all asked personal questions, and all work the same way. The only people surprised are those who just started using the internet (or are inexperienced), and those who jump to conclusions when they read about it online. Every single thing on Facebook is optional, aside from basically the same information you have been asked to add when registering for an email years ago. On this very message board, I have your email address, your IP addresses, a hashed password, and optional information such as your first name, your age, your favorite team and player, your city (which I could get from your IP), and even posting tendencies, if I needed to know when you're online at home (home IP), if you go to school or not (and what college, by using your IP), and where you work and when you're there (again, by a third IP). So the government is going to track 7 billion people, every second, everywhere? They will do this on what, exactly? Don't you already believe they do this with cell phones? If so, do you have a cell phone? So...again, the government is going to track the tendencies of 7 billion people, all at once? Maybe this will create millions of jobs? They'll need people to do this tracking, you know.
  7. As Force said, the trade is way off, salary-wise. Rondo is only at $11 million, and any other filler they could send out would be at $1 million or less. Orlando is sending out approximately $36 million, so Boston would have to return almost $29 million. Pierce would have to go, most definitely. But, even if the trade were to be for JUST Dwight Howard (maybe Rondo for Dwight, and Boston absorbs the rest of his contract...not even sure if that's possible, with KG and Bass re-signed and Terry coming in), why should I believe Dwight Howard will stay in Boston after one season? Garnett is close to retirement, Ray Allen is gone, Jason Terry will be 36 next summer, and Paul Pierce is out of his prime as well.
  8. If you translate the Bible in a way that makes you believe the beast is the government, and not Satan, then that's probably why you believe this. Many have been taught that Satan will provide the "mark of the beast" to those who accept him as God (as he'll resemble Him). I'm not going to attempt to figure that out. Some believe the mark of the beast had something to do with Hitler, connected somehow with Manson and the mark he had on his forehead, among other things. Some say social security cards are versions of the mark, allowing you to "buy and sell" and, basically, live life the way we all live it right now (which is in sin, since every person has broken a commandment at least once in their lifetimes). PositiveID has moved into the area concerning diabetics, and ways they can make managing blood sugars easier. It's one of their primary focuses. Again, I'm not going to elaborate when discussing that and the VeriChip, but I'm very sure you guys are digging into a bottomless pit.
  9. I'm not going to go into much detail here, for legal reasons (and I'm not going to explain that, either), but you don't quite understand what the VeriChip was actually designed for, and why it was discontinued 2-3 years ago. It's also clear as day you're not understanding what PositiveID is doing. I usually don't give a shit about these topics, but I'm very much informed (and not just through internet posts and pages) when it comes to the two subjects above, especially PositiveID, and you're completely out of range when discussing the topic.
  10. Yeah, when I read it was Miller, it didn't make any sense to me. Warrick to the Wolves? So... WOLVES GET: Hakim Warrick ($4.6 million) Jerome Dyson SUNS GET: Wesley Johnson ($4.3 million) 1st RD pick HORNETS GET: Robin Lopez (S&T) --------- I fail to see how this trade helps the Wolves bring in AK47. It's more likely that Kirilenko splits time with Warrick, and if it has anything to do with money, well...Wesley Johnson has a TO next summer, while Warrick is guaranteed two years before he expires, and they both make basically the same amount.
  11. A lot of people were anticipating better play from the reigning DPOY, and while I'd like to see Anthony Davis play more, let's not get too ahead of ourselves. He has barely played, and when he does, he comes in near the end of games, always the freshest guy on the floor (by far). The bar isn't raised that high yet, so when he gets a nice block, you have a mass amount of people excited and thinking great things, but then he turns around and does little to nothing on the offensive end (Chandler is going to be more productive on that side, setting screens and rolling to the rim better, and he has less trouble posting up against bigs right now because, quite frankly, he's stronger). I'd still rather see Chander play the bulk of the minutes, but that's not going to happen if the referees keep calling ridiculous fouls on us (the entire team), and God forbid we continue to play Carmelo Anthony as the backup center. If playing Davis means we keep Carmelo away from the center position, I'm all for it, doesn't matter the minutes.
  12. Disappeared in the second half. Trade him to Boston for Paul Pierce.
  13. Spain will pose as a bigger threat once they get Marc back in there. They'd also benefit from having Rubio, but I'm assuming he's not going to be ready.
  14. Ibaka trying to score 50 against us today.
  15. The Big Three (Kobe, Durant, LeBron) should go to work this game, just to show Spain we're as good as we were in 2008, even without the size.
  16. Right. That's why I added the video.
  17. People are already screaming conspiracy theory. Yikes.
  18. Anyone see this yet? http://i50.tinypic.com/156pjid.jpg Count the skeletons in that screenshot.
  19. Haha...he doesn't look drugged to me. http://i.imgur.com/M5Cfg.jpg
  20. LOL. Yeah...well, they have yet to create an artificial retina + a way to connect it to your optic nerve (so you can see), so I doubt this.
  21. I figured Chyna would come out with DX, but I see she's still holding her grudge. And...I really, really wanted the Ultimate Warrior to come out and beat the shit out of Heath Slater, buzzed head and all, didn't care.
  22. Don't really give a shit. He's guilty. Pleading insanity is garbage if he was planning this for months (and he was, since he was getting weapon/equipment deliveries for that long), and to be honest, I wouldn't care if the court just laughed at his ass and gave him the death penalty without him even speaking a single word.
  23. That's understandable, but McGrady's best seasons were in Orlando, and he literally had nothing outside of Pat Garrity (since Miller and Hill were injured most of the season in 2003, which is one of the main seasons I'm looking at). I've always held a lot of value in a guy that can score the ball from anywhere on the floor, especially when that guy has bad teammates. My favorite MJ wasn't in the late 80's, but the one we saw in 1992 and beyond, once he added the three to his arsenal. It's why I like Durant over LeBron on the offensive end, even though LeBron passes the ball far better (and for the record, I'm sure LeBron's TS% is probably the same as Durant's, but regardless, people would rather see LeBron go to the rim than Durant taking jumpers). It still isn't enough to give McGrady the nod, though...and that's even if I leave out the fact that he never advanced to the second round OR that Wade has two rings.
  24. Wasn't really worried. USA is just messing around out there. I want to see how they play against Spain, though, because Spain is big up front.
