Chris Bosh out indefinitely (abdominal strain)
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
The Pacers can make it a series, but I don't think they'll win. Boston is a much different story. -
https://twitter.com/#!/ChrisMannixSI/status/202066168016683008 If it's a severe strain, you're talking up to two months. Could be anywhere from 1-8 weeks.

Ron Artest Won't Shake James Harden's Hand
Real Deal replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
He's not saying he wouldn't. Harden isn't one of the five out on the floor before the tip, so Artest isn't going to have the opportunity to shake his hand UNLESS he goes over to the huddle to do it, and why would he do that? Ron is referring to the tip-off, when the ten starters basically greet each other out there...the quick hugs, handshakes, high fives, etc. Harden isn't going to be out there for that. That's what Ron is saying. -
Ron Artest Won't Shake James Harden's Hand
Real Deal replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
He's got a point. If Harden was a starter, he would more than likely approach him at the beginning of the game, like he does others (ex. Durant). Artest is on this team to be an intimidating force. Don't agree with the elbow, and I know he did it on purpose, but if he doesn't want to shake someone's hand at the beginning of a game (or when he's subbed in, which is what Artest is alluding to), so be it. I'm not going to care about that. -
A little late, but okay...this movie was sick, especially at the end.

LOL...sensing a bit of frustration. The Clippers can win Game 7.

I can't really say Westbrook is better than Wade, or Harden better than Bosh. I've seen what Bosh can do by himself, but not Harden...and I won't bother talking about Wade and Westbrook. But, again, LeBron deserves it if the definition of the award changes to the best player in the league (doesn't have the complete game, but the magnitude of what he DOES do makes up for it)...it's just tough for me to hand it to him after seeing guys like Nash and Rose (comparable to Parker this season) and Dirk (comparable to Durant) winning it for being the best players on the best teams in the league, yet not putting up incredible numbers OR playing defense...and the kicker is the Kobe/Shaq issue, which has turned me away from the award for years, even when Kobe won his first.

Write down what you're getting when you hit the blue screen (the numbers). If you did an OS restore and you're still getting the freezing, it's more than likely a hardware issue.

Phil Jackson's "got the energy back"
Real Deal replied to Check my Stats's topic in General NBA Discussion
Broussard brought it up not too long ago, when they were talking about where he could land...and for the simple fact that the Heat are already a stable contender (with their big three) and Phil is notorious for walking into good situations (1990 Bulls, 2000 Lakers, 2006 Lakers once they drafted Bynum). -
Ouch. And this is all just one game (Game 4). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1wps_vDebs

Phil Jackson's "got the energy back"
Real Deal replied to Check my Stats's topic in General NBA Discussion
I doubt Phil wants to come back to LA, but then again, you can't rule it out because of Jeanie. Wouldn't be shocked to see him coach the Knicks, though. If he goes to Miami, it'll make me sick. Phil is my favorite coach of all time, among all sports. It would be like Kobe going to Miami or Boston. -
I don't know, man. I think NY had the potential to be better, but the Pacers are better defensively (once you remove Shumpert from the equation, and add an injured Chandler), and they also play bigger (top four in rebounding). The Knicks shot far too many threes over the course of the season, really didn't have a flow to their offense, while the Pacers shoot less threes, but at a higher percentage...which was the mindset LeBron and Wade carried into the season (shoot less threes, but at a high percentage). Plus, Granger and George can defend well, when locked in...and those are the two guys on James and Wade. When you factor in Roy Hibbert, who is more aggressive (on the offensive end) than Chandler, the Heat should have more trouble with this Pacer team.

Closer to Magic than MJ (more athletic and more scoring, but less passing), if we're comparing him to legends. Probably Robertson, but I never saw him play live. LBJ doesn't even play like Jordan...completely different style. I really wonder just how many message board posters have ever watched 80's and early 90's basketball, real talk. I would love to know a percentage...would be interesting...and I'm not talking highlights, I'm talking live TV. Almost every basketball player who has defended Kobe and/or MJ, retired or not, will tell you that Kobe is the closest to MJ in regards to overall abilities and style of play. It shouldn't be debated...just nonsense if it is. ---------- Regarding the MVP, it was going to be LeBron's before the final month of the season began. In fact, many could have predicted this back in December. Durant can put up his big offensive numbers, but he's not the defender LeBron is. From where I stand, I'm on the fence. LeBron is the best player in the NBA, if you take in his overall numbers and efficiency. Still can't say he has a complete game with no holes, but the numbers (and his defensive play) place him on top. However, I hate that the MVP goes to a player with another superstar teammate, plus an all-star teammate. If it was using MY definition, then yes, LeBron wins it because I would give it to the best player every single year, don't care about their teammates or their record (nobody touched Kobe in 2006, but he didn't get MVP)...but if Kobe/Shaq have two combined because they played together, it's sad to see LeBron win his third, despite his two exceptionally-good teammates. I really wish they would just rename the award the "Most Valuable Teammate" award. Nobody can convince me that Rose was the best player in the league last year...so if he won it because he didn't have much to work with (so they say), why isn't he getting it again having nearly the same exact team, and once again winning the Eastern Conference and having the best record in the league?

Kobe puts the team on blast
Real Deal replied to Be Like Mike's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
No, Drew doesn't have the potential to be a #1 option. You would think, but do you know why Denver is now caught up with us? It's because they are double teaming him like CRAZY. Drew has gotten plenty of touches in this series, but he's having to pass them back out, frequently, because of the double...and if you only saw just how bad he handles these doubles, you'd agree that SOMEONE has to call him out. Game 4 or 5, don't remember which...Drew caught the ball a bit out of the post (because guys are pushing him out of it), and then was immediately doubled. He turned his body, traveled (left uncalled, but it has been called a few times on him), and then literally fell with the ball, to his knees, and turning it over. Keep in mind that 10 shot attempts doesn't mean 10 touches...it just means that Drew wasn't doubled a few times, and he grabbed a couple of offensive boards and had putbacks (or, he was ignorant and shot a 12-foot baby hook over McGee and Faried). There's a reason that Shaq is calling him out live on TNT. There's a reason why Kenny Smith said he wouldn't want him to be his teammate. There's definitely a reason why Kobe is finally calling him out, and why Mike Brown said he needed more production and effort from his #2 and #3 options out there. Not only that, but Drew himself said that he needed to play Game 7 "as it it were his last game." All Brown knows how to do is hand the ball off to a superstar, and pray that he does something good (speaking in regards to an offense). Kuester is really the guy behind the offense that we run, and the truth is, it's a poor decision. ------------- Not going to try and make it sound too complicated here...but Drew and Gasol as "twin towers" won't work. Why not just change it up? Well, we can't jump from our current offense, to a double post motion (just using one as an example, of course). Not with just one practice. There are far too many restrictions in an offense like that, and too much movement. For example, in the double post motion, if JaVale were to front Bynum, Gasol would flash to the ball side elbow, initiating a post pin and a high low play. If McGee is behind Drew, Gasol breaks to the weak side elbow, Drew forces a double, and the pass goes to Gasol for the jumper, or a kick out to a shooter. I mean, we actually try and set this up, but we don't begin that way. In that particular offense, both of our bigs are in the low post, opposite sides, and our three perimeter players stay outside. We probably avoid this, though, because a team like Denver has no problem sticking one guy on Kobe while he's 25 feet from the rim. They have the help D to recover and contest anything he tries to take inside of the three, all while being long enough to stick with their man in the process. The truth is, Bynum cannot facilitate (doesn't have that ability, but he shouldn't be trying to in the first place). I've said it for a while now. With this crew, on this team, in this offense...he can't. He has to score once he gets the ball...no waiting for doubles. It would help if Gasol was a threat, because then Pau can drag his man anywhere on the court, given his range (like Duncan was doing in San Antonio), but his lack of aggressive play is an issue as well. Bynum has to play the correct way. Once he gets the ball, he has to make a move, immediately, and score. He's not Shaq...and that's why so many people are angry with him right now (not to mention he's a big mouth bitch that talks trash, then fails to back it up, giving Denver bulletin-board material for the series comeback...as Karl, McGee and Lawson admitted). -
Kobe puts the team on blast
Real Deal replied to Be Like Mike's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
He's shooting 46.4% in the playoffs, post-Shaq (since everyone likes to credit Kobe's rings to O'Neal, might as well use the post-Shaq version of him). LeBron's career playoff shooting percentage is 46.1%. What other elites should we compare him to? Richard Jefferson has a career post-season FG% of 47.2%...so that must be significant if we're pitting him against the likes of Kobe and LeBron, correct? Jason Richardson is at 46.5%. Dirk is higher than LeBron's, even though he plays like a guard most of the time (and LeBron is at the rim far, far more). FG% really doesn't hold much weight, dude. -

I'd say two bad games. Aside from pulling down boards (something that Reggie Evans can do), Gasol was horrible in Game 5. -
GM6: Memphis at LA Clippers
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
Both will play, but I wouldn't be surprised if Blake has to sit one game. Doubt the Clips want to do that, though. This game is far too important. LA doesn't want to go back to Memphis for a Game 7...the crowd is too crazy over there. -
