Real Deal replied to Cobb's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
Slaven, you have to be careful throwing down that many calories, even when you're not seeing much of a weight gain right now. As you get older, your metabolism gets wacky, so you're liable to put on a lot of weight FAST if you keep it up...and here's the thing: you may not take in 5,000 a day for much longer, but your body will begin to crave that much, and you'll find yourself eating more once you try and take it a step down. I know a LOT of guys who went through that problem, guys that I go to the gym with (well, who are there when I'm there). Some were pretty damn skinny, around your height and weight, and some were under 10% body fat and, basically, all muscle weight (and over 220 pounds). Also, how much protein are you eating each day? It may be good for bulking up, but too much will tear your organs up, mainly your kidneys, because your body develops dangerous ketones if you eat too much protein (I would know best, lol). -
Could put up better numbers than expected in New Jersey, but he's not much of a team player, isn't consistent enough to really help the Nets THAT much. I haven't watched him in the D-League, but I wonder if his defense has improved.

Kobe suffers broken nose, mild concussion
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
If it was the fourth quarter, late in the game, and Wade was going for the ball...I would have a different opinion on this. But, it was third quarter, really the first hard foul of the game (the ONLY hard foul, at that), and Wade was not going for the ball. He didn't even try to grab Kobe. The foul was intentionally hard. It may not have been done to break Kobe's nose, but it was done to send some ridiculous message in a meaningless All-Star game, which is as dirty as the foul on Rondo last year. And it's sad, because Wade was really the only guy I liked on the Heat. -

Someone said that Kevin Hart was flipping out when he saw Kobe's broken nose, so I found a picture: http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/407055_10100869378819731_6018131_58910771_2118903914_n.jpg LOL. -

Hey, we'll try to make it a more special circle-jerk than the one you were hosting back in the summer of 2010 on the forums. http://bradfordschools.net/blog/nessfield/files/2012/01/Happy_smiley_face.png -
Skip AND Stephen A. Smith are blasting LeBron on First Take right now. They showed how Kobe was telling LeBron to shoot the ball, and how Melo was almost cracking up and laughing at him because he tried to make a half-court pass to Wade, instead of stepping up against Kobe and taking the jumper to win. He passed to D-Will for a miss, then got the ball back and made that terrible pass that was picked off by Blake Griffin. Then, he chose to take the ball out of bounds, instead of taking the final shot (third time he declined it in those clutch seconds), and I guess Kobe and Melo were calling him out right after the game. Haha, and they are showing the clip of him walking away from the rest of the players, who were shaking hands and all that, and he headed over to the bench to untie his shoes and to give a depressing interview, lol.

Kobe suffers broken nose, mild concussion

He seemed to be. I didn't see him asking Kobe if he was good. Did you expect Wade to make any other comment? LOL...come on. "I fouled Kobe hard because I was pissed off. I can't stand him. He was lighting me up in the first half, so I figured I'd give him a broken nose and a concussion, to see if that would stop the punk ass bitch." - Wade No, he's not going to say that. And the foul was completely ignorant, by the way. It was really the first foul of the game (that wasn't a touch foul), and it was while Kobe was on his way to the rim, something every other player on the court was getting without ANYONE playing defense. He was pissed. He made a mistake. He didn't check on him, didn't ask him if he was okay. Talking about how great Kobe has been as a player means little to nothing, just damage control, to make him look less like a salty player. It's all good, though. Wade did the same thing to Rondo last year. Good to see a couple of ESPN guys putting him on blast, too. -

Maybe we'll have Rasheed by the time the Lakers play the Heat on Sunday. Sheed, Artest, Bynum and Barnes...eight elbows. -
One of the writers over at SBNation say he had headaches and that it was from a mild concussion, and it was also tweeted a few times last night, once by Woj. https://twitter.com/#!/dailythunder/status/173977285286830080 https://twitter.com/#!/dailythunder/status/173976840254406656 D-Wheel sounds pissed he lost his team and city to LeBron James, and that he has been the second best two-guard for years. What the hell is his deal?
-
Yep, mild concussion as well.

The only impressive dunk was the two-ball, dunking both at the same time and clearing someone in a chair is impressive. I'm sick of dudes jumping over other guys and pushing off to get to the rim. No push-off of Kevin Hart, but Hart is actually what...five feet tall? George could probably swing his leg over Kevin's head, standing in front of him. I believe it was Shaq that said the superstars need to step up and participate. It was a bad thing for him to say, but the truth is, nobody wants to see these guys throw down in-game dunks that I could see watching an NBA game OR the Sprite Amateur Dunk Contest.
-
Irving tore these guys up, and Rubio was fun to watch. Griffin and Wall had some wicked dunks, and did anyone see Paul George stick his elbow in the rim? They didn't show a replay of it, didn't mention it...oh well.
-
Dwight is more efficient on the offensive end, he has been a primary option most of his career, he's BY FAR the better defensive player, carried his Magic to the NBA Finals as the superstar of his team, and he is never injured. There's no way in hell Drew will ever be Dwight.
-
I wonder if they have a trade lined up to bring in Howard and Turkoglu, for Gasol and Drew.
-
Gut feeling Gasol is gone.

OKC cant sit at Kobe's lunch table
Real Deal replied to Need4Sheed's topic in Oklahoma City Thunder Team Forum
Actually, I'm not defending Bryant, since he had a horrible game and the Lakers lost...but Harden did approach him first, near the end, and was running his chops to Kobe. I'll have to find the clip that was posted earlier. Not that he didn't deserve to hear it from Harden (the Thunder had the right to brag), but I expected Kobe to say something back, of course. And it's the truth, also. The Thunder are my second favorite team, Durant my second favorite player...but he's not there yet. -
