  2. LMAO, I laughed hard when I saw that last night.
  3. The Lakers suck. Does James Harden even give a damn about anything going on, aside from Kobe getting the ball? WTF...almost the entire time defending Kobe, he's not even looking elsewhere...ball denial all the way.
  4. The Knicks don't stand a chance, at least in a playoff series, against the Heat. 1) They are the worst team in the NBA at turning the ball over. That means they are toast against a Heat team that is one of the best at capitalizing on those turnovers and turning them into unstoppable fast breaks. 2) NY is also one of the worst fouling teams in the NBA (because they have a tough time defending, aside from Chandler and Shump), ranked 29th. Again, perfect for Miami, who loves sending all of their players to the line. 3) Finally, the Knicks are one of the worst at defending the three-point line (28th). The Heat are shooting lights out from there, #1 in the NBA. Miami would LOVE to play the Knicks in the playoffs. ------------- Tonight could be a different story, since it's just one game (and a regular season game, at that), but I wouldn't be shocked to see a blowout.
  5. No, you clearly stated that he DID say he would only hire blacks. Your entire topic was created because you quickly assumed that's what he's saying. But, yeah...your mistake.
  6. Why state the obvious? I think everyone in this topic knows it's illegal to do that. From the start, your issue was that he DID state that, and I'm one that's saying he never stated it...and as Nitro said, there's no way he's going to do that. His channel wouldn't make it on air longer than a month if he went that route.
  7. Six seconds to go, I have no idea why Jason Terry launched an airball from 30 feet out. There was no point in that. Six straight misses from the line, too...pathetic by LA, especially when it happens at the end of the game. I've never seen that from Kobe and Gasol before (and Barnes missed the other two). I wonder who is working with Bynum and teaching him how to pass the ball.
  8. How did the Nuggets get so injured? Gallo, Lawson, Nene, Rudy and Birdman were all out. I haven't watched a lot of them this year, but these losses will start to pile up in a shortened season, and the West is still the nastiest conference to play in.
  9. LMAO, that's actually pretty good. If they were to approach Magic and tell him he was encouraging racism by having his own black network, Magic could just turn around and say they encourage racism by having a problem with a black network. And that, folks, is how racism REALLY works.
  10. I don't see why they wouldn't want to bring him off the bench, seeing that he can score the ball so well and Minny's second unit would thrive with him...but I digress. Good thing, though, because I don't want Gasol traded to Minnesota without Love or Rubio in the deal, and I know that won't happen.
  11. His best position, statistically. And the Wolves need more than just a two-guard, which is something they can't get from us anyway. If they really wanted a two-guard, though, they would trade Beasley in a package deal elsewhere, not give him away for a TPE that they would have trouble using. Saying they don't want Gasol is dismissing the fact that they wanted him in December...because nothing has changed since. Pekovic may be playing well, but he's not starting material, and he's playing limited minutes. I doubt Rubio has changed his stance on playing with a guy he played with for years in Spain, and if Kahn was willing to give away Derrick Williams and a pick for Gasol in December, not knowing if Williams would come out and tear up the league, I'm pretty sure he's still ready to make a deal for him.
  12. Yep. Must mean I could never be in those movies, or be employed by Lifetime. I'm pissed.
  13. Well, right, lol. I meant in a sense that it targets the black community.
  14. Something like this? http://i43.tinypic.com/qs329v.jpg
  15. Bynum is not a franchise player, so I hope they don't go that direction. Franchise players are legit primary scoring options that can play over 35 minutes a night, and have proven they can last full NBA seasons. Drew hasn't done any of that. I have a hard time believing that. Minnesota would still play Gasol in the frontcourt, and stick Pekovic on the bench (since he's only logging around 24 minutes a game anyway), and the Gasol/Rubio connection would be lethal because Pau is also a very, very good passing big man, which only helps Love (and he's one as well). Also, it's Chris Broussard making that statement. I never know when to believe or disregard what he says.
  16. Unfortunately for your argument, Magic didn't come out and say that he would. The station itself would promote the work of black men and women...the work of black men and women, meaning, shows and series produced by them. That doesn't mean that all shows, and anyone working for the channel for that matter, would only be one race. None of that relates to what you're asking me about my eyes, but I'll dig into that as well. I have absolutely no vision in my left eye, doesn't matter what I do or wear...glasses won't help. If a company requires 20/20 vision in both eyes, I'm screwed, and I accept that. I believe you have to have 20/20 uncorrected to be a military pilot. So what? Magic's "company" (channel) promotes the work of black men and women. The requirement to get your show listed is, well, to be black. Doesn't mean you (a white guy) won't get hired to work on a set of his talk show he'll more than likely have on it, or hired to work for the channel doing whatever. I really don't see what the big deal is, and not because it's Magic (because I really don't give a damn about him, aside from what he did as a Laker), but because it's a television channel that will more than likely be like BET (targeting the black community, had to elaborate), something that doesn't bother me as well. If Larry Bird did this for white guys, I wouldn't care, either...and it would still be a go, regardless of how much criticism it would receive. As you can see, Magic is already getting criticized for this...and he will for years. There really would be no difference. This isn't why racism exists. Racism exists as long as the human race does, and it's because people will always be judged by their looks, which includes their skin color. MLK didn't end racism, and neither did Malcolm X, and it's not always about the black man or woman, either. A white man can turn down an Asian worker because of his race, as quick as a black man could turn down a white man for the same reason. What DOES sting, though, is making a big deal out of things like this. As long as it's not encouraging terrorism or illegal activities, anyone with the money and showing a demand with a legitimate idea can produce a channel. Why won't a white man do something similar? Because, honestly, it would be no different than most of the popular channels, and would quickly fail. I'm sure there are far more white producers than there are black, and channels like TNT, TBS, FX, and USA (national channels that provide movies and shows frequently) would bury it within the year...what would really be the game-changer? Assuming it was a premium channel, it would never stack up to HBO, Cinemax, Showtime or Starz...and that's why you don't see very many successful movie channels popping out of nowhere and going big. I pay around $140 a month for hundreds of channels on my TV (and internet). Skipping over Magic's channel (if I wanted to) would be no different than me skipping over Lifetime, or Oprah's channel, or C-SPAN.
  17. The Wolves are really set on getting Gasol, and I have a feeling they are going to try and offer us Derrick Williams and Michael Beasley for Gasol, Goudelock and a first round pick (and Minny includes fillers, of course). I really don't like that deal. Makes us a faster team, but Williams is too big of a question mark for me right now, and while I would deal our TPE for Beasley in a heartbeat, I wouldn't trade a true big man for him. Above all that, I actually like Goudelock, and a first-rounder in this upcoming draft would be great.

  21. Boston is currently on a four-game losing streak...and that last game, against Dallas, was Rondo's first missed due to the suspension. These Celtics are just horrible without Rondo and Garnett. Isn't Jermaine hurt as well? And Wilcox? Maybe it's time for them to go sign Pavel Podkolzin!
  22. Evans doesn't provide the help defense DeAndre Jordan does, and when you have Blake Griffin and Mo Williams on the court, you'll need Jordan as much as possible. I won't bother talking about these guys offensively. Chris Paul would never get Evans involved in the offense at the rate he does Jordan, and that's saying a lot because DJ isn't that big of an offensive threat.
  23. Deron was playing angry, and he seemed like he was more pissed off than he was when he went out to light the Nuggs up in the playoffs a few years back (dropped 34) and tore the Lakers up for 35 back in 2009. He would have hit the 40-point mark on LA in that game, if it wasn't for Kobe switching over every now and then. Shump is a good defender, but Williams would have still hit the 30-point mark. He would have been more elusive with him, or just used screens. Individually...offense will almost always succeed over defense. May not be the case when you're talking team play, but you can't stick your best defensive player on an elite offensive player, on an island, and expect that offensive juggernaut to be shut down. Shump is not an elite defender yet, while Deron is a legitimate superstar in this league, arguably the best PG. There are going to be a few guys in the NBA that would torch him, if they wanted to be selfish and were pissed off. Raja Bell was a very good defensive player for a Suns team that didn't have much help defense, and D'Antoni found out really quick that sticking Bell on Kobe may have been the best option, but it didn't matter...and Kobe has toasted Phoenix more than any other team he has ever played (in regards to 40+ point games). Deron had one of those nights, and the Knicks really don't play the defense they need to in order to stop players in that zone. There's no way Shump would have held Deron to just 20. -------------- By the way...we know two things about Jeremy Lin: he's not much of a defender, and he's a turnover machine. He didn't throw very many against the Nets, but he's still struggling...and it's not "okay" as some put it...he has been THE WORST in NBA history, turning the ball over. That includes all rookies coming in and starting for their teams, like Kyrie Irving, and every player who has ever started in this league. But, on a positive note, I think his turnovers will drop as Melo gets back to form (if they actually work together). Still not acceptable, no matter the defensive attention he was getting...but winning seems to cure all.
  24. Last I saw, it was 120-75...guess they actually had a 47 or 48-point lead at one point of the game, but I wouldn't consider this a big deal. No Duncan and Parker means no Spurs...although, I don't mind seeing them lose, regardless.
