Magic Johnson to launch a black television network
Real Deal replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in General NBA Discussion
1) When you're adding a topic in one of the team forums, or basketball forums, make sure you're not putting your opinion in the title. Everything basketball goes to the Twitter feed, automatically. That's why I ask that titles are non-biased and to the point. 2) Who cares what Magic is doing? Back when I was young, I was watching shows (some reruns) that were "all black" because they were good for TV. Family Matters Good Times The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Sanford and Son Cosby Show The Jeffersons Martin Those shows were awesome. My parents watched some of those in the 70's (such as the Jeffersons), and back then, nobody gave a damn. There were probably more whites tuning in and watching, to be honest. One of my favorite shows to watch on TV was "In Living Color" back when I was in grade school, because it was hilarious comedy. The only white actor (that was featured) was a very young Jim Carrey, and one original white actress (Kelly Coffield Park) through five seasons. I sense political ties in this topic, by the way...which is expected, when you consider the subject at hand. -
Ken Berger: Lakers front office in disarray
Real Deal replied to Dash's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Simply put, Jim Buss thinks Drew is the future superstar, and everyone else on the team is exchangeable...and that includes everyone that doesn't believe it on the coaching staff and in the front office. Kupchak is no exception, either. Kobe and Jim have never seen eye-to-eye. Sadly, I'm not surprised at any of this. I saw it coming from miles away. I would have rather seen Jeanie take over the team, even if she supposedly has no idea how to evaluate basketball talent (which is probably just something people have said because she's female). -
LA Clippers at Golden State
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in Golden State Warriors Team Forum
CP3 had 24, but held scoreless in the entire 4th quarter, and just blew it at the very end as well...not sure why what happened there. -
LA Clippers at Golden State
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in Golden State Warriors Team Forum
Wow, horrible decision to overplay on Nate. They left the paint wide open. Warriors up 104-97, 9-0 run. -
Back up to 16. Thanks Kobe. And Gasol travels on a catch.
-
Instead, he's taking contested shots, some closer to the rim, and bricking. He's 5-13 right now. Dude is mentally checked out of this season.
-
Kobe back in...FINALLY. Fix this.
-
Thirty point lead, down to 10, because we let them drop nearly 40 in the third quarter. Not dropping my jaw at that one.
-
Tuned in when it was 37-7 with about nine minutes to go in the second quarter. Yikes. I'll have to go back and watch the start of this one later.

Kobe: Trade Pau, or leave him alone
Real Deal replied to Sħãlïq™'s topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
He's not saying to trade Gasol to get help, he's saying to make a decision, so Gasol is mentally ready to finish the season with us or some other team. -
Stephen Curry Kyrie Irving Tony Parker John Wall Russell Westbrook Deron Williams Rajon Rondo And no, not Eddy Curry. EDIT: And no, not Stephen Curry, since the injury.

Don't remember that, but if they did, they were warned for it...as you were as well (not suspended). Yeah, I told you to get something through your thick skull. Big deal. I don't allow quotes in signatures unless that particular member being quoted is fine with it. Not only did you have a quote, but you also had a line or to that was directed at me. Sorry OTR, I should not have unbanned him. Huge mistake on my part. I should have realized that not all of our original members deserve the same respect as our dedicated guys. He didn't want to be here, doesn't respect the community (which was obvious before he was banned, attacking more than just me, ATDI and NetsVC), and...well, so much for him.

Centers have higher FG% because their shots are closer to the rim, because they are seven feet tall and weigh far more than most guards. Logic applied. You went ballistic because I laughed at the argument. http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/topic/5340-shaqs-2pt-field-goals-vs-kobes-2pt-field-goals Locked it up because you were arguing about it for about five pages elsewhere, and then, you created five more topics (the same exact thing) because the one above was locked, turning into a spammer. That was ban-worthy. Plus, you were going all out on NetsVC and ATDI over and over again in topics (as stated in the moderator system, three different mods increased your warn level in a month's time, which is a long suspension that wasn't given to you). But, I didn't unban to talk about this. Anyway...all formerly banned members, who were originals, were unbanned. Even Diesel.

Not sure if you're saying he should not have said that, or that he's right...but it's Byron Scott. They did play scared out there, and Scott (being a former player) will probably point that out quicker than most coaches in the league.
-
Well then.

I love when we play teams with no true defensive anchor (Gortat is a better on-ball defender than he is help). Even with Hill and Dudley defending him, Kobe usually doesn't have problems with good defenders until you stick guys like Dwight in the frontcourt.

Just made it overnight and into the morning, thought I'd post it on here: http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/409036_10150527611696653_502396652_9249292_214174776_n.jpg My other one (the first cover I've ever created) was horrible.

Production per 48 min of clutch time CP3: 39.2 PTS, 41.2% FG, 25% 3PT, 13.1 FTA, 8.7 REB, 6.1 AST, 3.5 TO, 3.5 STL RR: 28.4 PTS, 47.4% FG, 66.7% 3PT, 14.2 FTA, 6.3 REB, 7.9 AST, 3.9 TO, 3.2 STL Aside from scoring more points (which would be obvious, considering it's CP3), looks like Rubio is shooting better from everywhere on the court, getting more assists, and nearly matching the rest of CP3's numbers. Both are PG's, both have a top PF on their team, both usually have the ball in their hands in the clutch. Kind of wondering what else I should say here.

Is Chris Paul the best closer in the game?
Real Deal replied to Flash's topic in General NBA Discussion
I don't have to look to tell you that Rubio probably has made clutch shots at a higher percentage than CP3 (or as high). I've watched plenty of Minny games this year, probably 75% of them...and that's just his scoring. He has made big plays down the stretch as well, but oh well. -
Shaq loaded up on offense, and Barkley tried to build a defensive squad.

Is Chris Paul the best closer in the game?
Real Deal replied to Flash's topic in General NBA Discussion
I'll still take the elite scorers (Kobe, Durant and Melo) over CP3, only because I feel more comfortable with one of them taking clutch shots over elite defensive players, and double teams. Kobe is struggling shooting the ball this season, though...so I might have to leave him out. However, among PG's, it's either CP3 or Rubio. Personally, I think Rubio is doing pretty damn good in clutch situations, scoring OR creating for others. -
Did Portland even realize they needed a three? Maybe just Matthews, because the rest of the team just stood there.
