I really didn't say that playoff games are the only games that matter. I stated that a regular season game in February, for OUR team, is meaningless because I'm very confident that the Lakers are prepared to deal half of this roster before the deadline. It was all regarding the assumption that I was sour about the loss, which I really didn't care about. We lost to a couple of bad teams on the road already...it happens every year with us, even during our championship seasons, and the biggest thing about the Lakers over the last two decades is that we have a tendency to play complacent. That was certainly not the excuse last night, as our team is just stupid, running a basic offense with bad shooters and slow players, no playmaker other than our primary scoring option, a center that either looks to score all the time, or looks to pass all the time (doesn't know how to do both), and matadors playing PG. Teams that are considered bottom-feeders (like the Bobcats) should have fans who get happy for wins like this. Really, really happy. The Knicks fans can celebrate, that's never a problem, but there's never a reason to ask a fan of one of the greatest basketball franchises of all time if he is salty, unless it's some playoff series. We lost to the Clippers once this season. While we could meet them in the playoffs, it's not that big of a deal to me UNTIL we meet them in the playoffs. I want to win every regular season game we play, of course, but given the circumstances, this team needs a big trade or two, and this stuff doesn't concern me at all. I'll start getting angry over losses after the deadline, when it's time for our team to push for a high seed and start dominating teams we should beat. I'm just hoping you guys aren't setting yourselves up in the same manner that ECN has over the years, with his teams. The Knicks have their next four games against poor defensive teams (can't see after that, from my phone), and I'm sure they can go on a nice little streak of wins. In the East, it's magnified, and I can see where all of this is going. I know about seven Broncos fans, living in my area, and this is exactly the same road they traveled.

Bryant approves signing of Arenas deal
Real Deal replied to Art's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Desperate times call for desperate measures. I doubt Kobe really wants him on board, but when you take a look at our PG situation, it's very evident we need something. Arenas is not the answer, though, unless Kobe sends him to Germany. -

Jennings Wants To Play In A Bigger Market
Real Deal replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Milwaukee Bucks Team Forum
We need one that plays defense and is a pass-first, with the ability to score...and someone that is a winner. Jennings does not apply, and I hope the Lakers shut down Milwaukee in any trade proposals that involve us dealing our two big men. In fact, I wouldn't trade Drew OR Gasol for the combo of Jennings AND Bogut. I'm sure others would, but Jennings is not right for this team, and I'm not even sure if Bogut will be able to play a full NBA season ever again. -
I sure the hell wish there was a way that Brown and D'Antoni would have agreed to let the two defend each other, no help defense. Oh well.

You're never allowed to cross out that saying. It's now required that, if you do ever talk about pimpin' ya ragz, you have to say it. It's a piece of OTR history. We all have something to be remembered by, and this is yours to keep, lol.

...they asked him over and over again. That's not just in the video, but in the quotes you read. He really should have said, "Don't care. He's a nobody. Next question." That's what Jordan used to do when they brought up scrubs that were catching fire. I'm sure that would piss off every non-Laker fan there is.

Nobody is telling you guys not to celebrate...but asking people if they are mad, sour, and talking about how selfish Kobe was this game (ha) really only because Jeremy Lin had seven assists, overreacting about a Kobe clip, overreacting when SRV said that the Knicks were mediocre (and they are), calling him out and saying he can't make a comment without seeing Lin play (even though he complimented him well), I can tell that it will get out of hand eventually, seeing that it's only the fourth game. But it's whatever. Snake did this with his Denver Nuggets 2-3 times over the years, when they had players on a roll (whether it was Melo, Afflalo or Smith), leading into the postseason, and it turned me against Afflalo, who was one of my favorite up-and-coming players. Doesn't really matter, I guess. Good win.

Sour? Yeah...see, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Kind of like all of the NYG posts here...except, that's actually a big deal. I don't care about a regular season game in February. I'm waiting until March 15th. I wanted Jeremy Lin to net 40 tonight, just so we would make a trade for a legitimate PG. I have no reason to be sour over losing to a team that doesn't mean anything to me. We lost to the Bucks and Kings already, both on the road. No different.

Haha, okay...well, I'll be sure to tweet this over to Kobe and let him know how to play basketball. They asked him three times or so, after he clearly stated that he knew him, just didn't know what he was doing. Kobe wasn't going to suck his dick all of a sudden, and call him incredible. The Lakers do not talk about other teams until the day they play them, if it's a second night of a back-to-back, especially Kobe and Phil Jackson, so I expect the same from most of the guys on that team because they were the ones coached by Phil last season. Kobe watches film all day long, of the team and player(s) he will have to deal with that day. That's one reason why he is who he is.
-
He said that he knew who he was (he actually said it just like that) and also stated that he wasn't aware of how good he was playing. You didn't watch the video, did you? The double (and triple) teams came when he was 26 feet away from the rim half of the time. How was he late on those passes? The other half, he just led towards the baseline and hit jumpers before the second man reached him.

Blake made two of his 11 or 12 attempts. Ron didn't do anything. Bynum was 1-8 against Chandler, who just pushed him out of position whenever he felt like it (didn't even have to double him). Fisher was insignificant. Barnes didn't play enough, should have played 48 minutes if you consider just how bad Ron, Blake and Fisher were (no point in moving Kobe up to the three and going small). Kobe started out 1-11, came back and ended the game 10-18, but there was no way the Lakers were going to win this game because for one, we don't have a legitimate PG to help create for others. Two, our shooters are trash, doesn't matter if they are defended or wide-open (guys like Ron are worse wide-open). Three, our two big men have no idea how to play together, and usually, when one does well, the other is average or terrible. Not to mention the Lakers are horrible on the road...have been losing road games all year long, and for no reason other than most of the players must be mentally weak and ready to be traded before March 15th.
-
? I'm pretty sure he was trying. He's been trying all season long, but the bench is the worst in the NBA, and the Lakers are nearly dead last in three-point shooting as well, missing almost every single shot Kobe tries to create for them. Also, in the video clip, Kobe doesn't bash Jeremy Lin at all. I'm sure he really doesn't know what some no-name kid has done in three games (meaning, he is not a big name superstar in the NBA, and Kobe -- nor any other player -- watches video of teams they play, and they just finished with Boston last night). Kobe did say he would watch video of him later. I hope you Knicks fans don't get a big ego over what Jeremy Lin is doing, though. Kyle Lowry did the same thing in Houston. I can tell this is getting a bit out of hand already. Lin played damn good against three average-to-bad teams, and a struggling, old team in the Lakers that threw Derek Fisher and an injured Steve Blake in his path. Surprising player, good one, high IQ, smart...but even though I like him, I'm getting this gut feeling Knicks fans are going to turn me against him the way Broncos fans turned most everyone against Tim Tebow. We'll see.

Is The Asian Sensation For Real?
Real Deal replied to MainEv3nt's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
Haha...well, I'm a Lakers fan. When I say, "Doing nothing in the playoffs," I mean that they won't get into the conference finals. -
