  1. He will play again, but to expect much from him is asking a lot, if you consider his style. Steve Nash has been solid, despite his back issues that have really limited him for years...but for one, Baron is no Steve Nash. Two, he doesn't play like him. A ruptured disc, and a herniated disc, are two different things...so I'm not saying Baron is done. I'm just suspicious about the severity of the injury.
  2. Four points, lol. http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201201130LAL.html
  3. Whenever this happens, it has to be news...anyone that has ever played for the Celtics should never give props to a Laker. http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/7551496/larry-bird-love-play-los-angeles-lakers-kobe-bryant

  5. Ah, like Kobe did against Portland not too long ago, when the Blazers decided to double Drew the second half of the game and tore Bynum up. And this is coming from you, who lists his favorite player as Manu Ginobili, who has a lower career FG% than Kobe...the guy you say has bad efficiency (yeah, I know you don't like Manu...). I won't bother with this topic. Reading back on your other posts, and seeing all of your posts coming from multiple proxy servers (meaning, you're using something like Hide My Ass), I can tell you're trolling.
  6. Hahaha, shades of Smush Parker. I remember when Smush ran full speed down the court, right after Odom grabbed an offensive board and passed it back out to him...ball just went out of bounds, and Smush was over by the opposing three point line, waiting for the fast break. McGee took off like a track star. Yikes.
  7. LOL. You are overrating what Gasol did in the Finals, if you thought that he played like a SUPERSTAR. His first two games, he did. In his last five games of that series? He shot 46% or less in every game (under 43% in three of those five), scored over 20 just once (21), and had over four assists in just one of those games (the big Game 6, with nine). He averaged 16.4 PPG on 42% FG with less defensive attention on him (versus Kobe) in those final five games. That is not a superstar, and that is not carrying Kobe. He played awesome in those first two games against Boston, but don't overrate him for your argument. If Boston decided to take their zone and stuff the paint, to keep the ball out of Gasol's hands and double him immediately when he did get the ball (instead of relying on Garnett and his bad knees, and Perkins, who you called an overrated defender), Pau would've been eaten alive as bad as he was against Dallas last season.
  8. Garnett was wanting to leave Minnesota, to go where he could win a championship. I doubt he would've left to join Jamal Crawford in New York. Same with Ray. Pierce was just there, so I guess that's different. Who said Gasol didn't contribute, or do a great job? And I'd expect Gasol to outplay Kobe in those Finals, because Thibodeau centered his defensive scheme around stopping Kobe, much like he did with LeBron. Everyone will always know who led that Lakers team, who facilitated and drew the defenders away from everyone else while being the primary scoring option. I'm not sure where you're going with that one. The day Kobe goes ring-chasing while still having the ability to put up 25+ PPG, I'll lose respect for him. If he's 40 and struggling to get 20 a night, that's a little different...but nobody in their primes (even though Kobe is not at his best and is exiting his prime, he's still a superstar) should be chasing championships and relying on other superstars, especially when that player has cemented his legacy with five rings as a main (or co-main) contributor.
  9. I think Baron is hurt a bit more than he's telling anyone, and that elbow infection is BS. Anyone that knows a person with a herniated disc should understand why it would be very difficult for Baron to return to the sport, playing what will more than likely be big minutes. If there is more damage in there (and I'm just assuming there is), expectations should be lowered a few notches.
  10. Nothing I can do to fix that, if you guys are still talking about JUST the gameday topics. The topics were created mid-December, and maybe it's because they were manually added to the database, maybe something else...but everything seems to be fine on my end. Every time someone posts in a gameday topic, I see it in the New Content section.
  11. He said he won't average 19 points per game with this Lakers team, because the truth is, if he did that, they wouldn't win. Probably won't get into the WCF as it is, even with him averaging 30, because Drew isn't creating for anyone out of the post (and playing back down to expectations), and Gasol isn't allowed any room in the paint because of Drew, nor is he posting up on the low block when Drew is out of the game. Regardless of the situation, though...I wouldn't want Kobe going to a team with two other superstars, either, to average 20 and be the third wheel. You said yourself that you hate when teams do that. Kobe is still a superstar in this league, not a ring-chaser, like Pierce, Allen, Garnett, LeBron and Wade. I'm glad he's still keeping that mindset, and doesn't want to be known for getting his sixth by "tagging along" and relying on another superstar or two to carry him there.
  12. A columnist from RealGM wrote this. Maybe if it was a credible source, I'd show more interest, but this guy probably knows about as much as I do regarding the situation.

  17. Well, that's just it...nobody really has to pay for it. Anyone with internet access can find it for free online. I mean, I understand why it's all being done (or presented and considered), but as far as PPV events go, I really don't care to spend an outrageous amount of money to see a one-round main event between two UFC fighters. Charging people $50 for those is just wrong, like paying $300 for Sunday Ticket (which is basically robbing everyone, especially when you get to see a 5-6 games on cable TV to begin with every Sunday -- the reason why NBA's League Pass will always be better).
  18. Four of the five from the West are from LA. Going to be weird if Pau Gasol and DeAndre Jordan get in as reserves (although I think Marc will make it, not sure though).

  20. Haha, no. We're right in the middle of the league in free throw attempts, and near the bottom ten in opponent fouls. I never really understood where you (or anyone) came up with that, though, unless you're talking about Shaq. Kobe hasn't averaged 10 FTA/G since the 2006-07 season.
  21. Carmelo sure brought the ball up quickly to end the game...
