  1. Just reported on ESPN...the Nets are going to offer Brook Lopez and two future first-rounders to the Magic, and they will get in return Howard and Hedo Turkoglu.
  2. Now that I'm back at the house, I can comment on this. Here's my comment: LOL. Ohio State is for real. As far as Duke goes, I know they are getting their asses handed to them, but have a little pride. They are playing like they couldn't care less if they were rocked by 30.
  3. I'm starting to think that the NBA will ruin the Hornets' franchise. As far as this trade goes, I don't see why Boston makes that risk. Rondo is great. There is no guarantee that CP3 stays. Paul's knees are also a concern.
  4. So...great way to discourage posters from participating in topics from this particular forum, guys. After reading this thread, I wouldn't even care to talk about this team right now, in any light, for any reason. This won't happen again.
  5. By the numbers, the 2004 Spurs. They hold the best defensive rating in NBA history, and held their opponents to just 40.9% FG (also best in history). The 2004 Pistons were up there, though...pretty close.
  6. http://www.ktla.com/videogallery/66368645/News/KTLA-Shaq-Talks-Lakers-Kobe-NBA-Lockout Calls Kobe the greatest Laker of all-time, which is something I didn't expect. He then goes on to say that most everything that happened was orchestrated by him, sort of hinting to some "Hollywood" relationship with Kobe back in the day. Even relates it all to when he called the Kings "Queens" and how he raked in the media time and time again. He talks LeBron, says Jordan told him (Shaq) he must first learn how to lose in order to win, didn't criticize James much. Shaq then says he'll be going into the Hall with a Lakers jersey, stated that it's obviously his choice.
  7. Giants call some of the worst plays I've seen this season.
  8. Well, here's how I'm looking at things: Chicago made it clear that they think Gibson COULD be a starter. He is a far better defensive player than Booz and Scola, combined (sad), and he's also very energetic and athletic. So, I don't know why Chicago would seek someone like Scola, who is also a starting forward. It would make more sense for them to make a deal to bring in a good two-guard, and possibly find a backup PF in the free agency pool OR as an addition in the trade. Thibodeau just doesn't seem like the guy that would want Scola. I doubt he wants Boozer. Based on how he operated in Boston, he should be looking to turn the Bulls into a defensive juggernaut, rather than adding players that will slip away from that.
  9. Is Scola really better than Boozer? I'd take Carlos for his rebounding, and while neither play defense, Boozer seems to contest more than flop, and I'd much rather have that. If it's all about contract lengths, that's different...but I think Chicago is ready to win now, and I don't see why they would downgrade for the sake of money, unless they were trying to get under the cap to sign a borderline all-star SG.
  10. He's good. I think he knows just how big these next two games are, and while Henson and Keller are huge for UNC, he's their savior.
  11. He's okay. By the way he was moving around in the second half, it's nothing that will keep him out of action for a while, and I doubt he misses a game (their next two are against ranked opponents, the one on December 3rd is against Kentucky). I can't say that it was the reason UNC lost, though (unlike a few UNC fans I'm having to talk with on Facebook). Barnes missed two crucial free throws late in the game, and he wasn't playing well in the first place, before the injury. UNLV was only down by about four or so at the half, and you had an itch that they were ready to go on a run to start the second half. The momentum from the crowd carried that small scoring spurt, and they pulled ahead by eight, IIRC, before UNC scored a basket.
  12. Hmm...changed things back, as far as team forums go. However, I combined NBA and college basketball talk in their own category. We may be an NBA-driven site, but we have to find a way to incorporate college basketball into our discussion. It will help bring in new members down the road, if we can fully recover from this lockout. For you football fans, and other sports as well...I'll find a way to link over to those forums without having to scroll so far down the list, if you'd like. Just a few shortcuts, to encourage discussion...because I've noticed that we are getting less and less activity in the NFL section since I've expanded it, which doesn't make much sense.
  13. Just bundling everything together... Some NBA CBA details: five year max years (contracts) with Bird Rights, four years if non-Bird. Max salary, one level, 30% of cap. No hard cap. Amnesty clause is very likely (the ability to waive one player, no matter the contract length or amount). Sign and trades are still a go for all teams in the NBA, no matter the cap situation, at least for the first two years of the CBA. Tougher luxury tax penalty implemented after the first two seasons of the new agreement. No reduction on rookie scale or minimum contracts. All-Star Weekend will still be held in Orlando, and won't be canceled.
