  1. Wow...this morning, it was even worse, when they were talking about the top 500 players. Smith and Bayless ripped into LeBron the worst I've ever heard on national TV. I seriously dropped my jaw.
  2. Superman (who is an American) flies in and rescues that kid, if that were the case over here.
  3. http://blogmaverick.com/2011/10/14/my-soapbox-advice-to-the-ows-movement-and-then-some http://blogmaverick.com/2011/09/20/my-top-10-things-our-federal-government-should-do-and-more Pretty interesting.
  4. But you have to admit, the timing is perfect if you want to see what Ponder is really made of. If the Vikings pull out a victory over the Pack (highly unlikely, but yeah), that will be HUGE. Game should be in Minny, also, if I recall correctly...so it'll be interesting to see just how pumped up the fans are.
  5. Here's how they really ranked the players...
  6. So let me get this straight: Kobe is bumped down because he failed in the playoffs. Gasol doesn't move, although he was a train wreck in the postseason. Dirk is bumped up to being a top five player in the NBA for winning it all, while LeBron stays #1 after his complete meltdown. Deron Williams doesn't seem to be in the same league as CP3 anymore, because he was nowhere to be seen in the playoffs, even though CP3 lost in the first round against Kobe (who, remember, is a disappointment). I have a hard time believing these rankings are serious. Remember, sportswriting is sometimes more about the reaction.
  7. Hahahaaaaa...ESPN just said, "...and some good news for the Bengals, when we come back."
  8. Yeah, worst I've ever had. No excuses, either...I took a chance on two picks, hoping it would boost me into first, but other than that, I was trampled and would've been last anyway. At around Week 5 last year, I was 10th...so I'm feeling pretty good where I'm at right now.
  9. There are probably what...five first-round QB's in the upcoming draft? I mean, if we end up not making the playoffs, what are the chances we can get a decent QB? Landry Jones isn't going to be selected before Luck or Barkley. Then you have Griffin (who can rack up yards on the ground) and Tannehill (who would rather throw for 400). Wide selection, and it's not like Oakland is looking for anything specific. They just considered Young, Garrard, had Campbell, have Boller, and just now traded for Palmer. This just makes me sick to my stomach. I have a bad feeling about this.
  10. Two [expletive]ing first round picks? I seriously refuse to believe this until I see Carson Palmer taking snaps for us. Not even turning on the TV until Sunday.
  11. Nevermind. He told the Raiders no...he's having back surgery soon, and won't be coming back to the NFL this season.
  12. I actually thought Luol would have a lot of trouble in the league, also, haha.

  14. I really don't see anyone on the roster worth keeping, aside from the rooks (Kemba and Biyombo). Their future really lies with Kemba at this point, and he's not going to dominate opponents like he was doing over at UConn. He's going to need a team around him. I like Landry to Charlotte, but will he go? Trading for pieces doesn't seem likely to me. I don't see why anyone would want Augustin. Tyrus isn't valuable. The only person that thinks Gerald Henderson has potential is MJ. Maggette's contract is loaded for two seasons, if I recall correctly. Diaw is expiring, but I'm not sure how many teams will care UNLESS there's a massive drop in the cap.
  15. The difference is, Williams will be able to adjust and play the three, if needed. I was hard on Beasley even when he was in college (partially because he was playing for a rival school, but also because I figured his attitude and style would cripple him in the pros), but I can't see Williams in the same light because, quite frankly, he will work. I distinctly remember people saying this stuff about Grant Hill, and how he was going to be stuck between the two positions. He ended up playing three positions throughout his career, and had it not been for the injuries, I'm pretty sure Hill would've been a top 50 player of all time. I really wish LeBron had gone to Ohio State, because there's a chance he would've heard the same thing as well. He was the same size as Williams, at one point. I'm sure I could come up with more, even current players. Luol Deng comes to mind...and while he's not an extraordinary player, he's one of the best defenders in the game.
