The Raiders have so much potential on the defensive end, it's just fun to watch. We need much more consistency on offense, though, and I still don't like Campbell as our QB.

Well, I'll retract the Panthers from my statement if Cam Newton continues to play like he did against the Cards, because they'll get at least 4-5 wins with him doing that...but, I'm not sure if he'll sustain it against better defensive teams (seemed like I could hit Steve Smith with a pass from my house, if I had a cannon arm...no accuracy needed). The Colts could be, because they have so much more going on than just not having Manning. Same with Kansas City, who was just as bad against a Bills team that, really, shouldn't have held them to just seven (Buffalo was terrible stopping the run last year, IIRC, and Charles should've eaten them alive), and shouldn't have been able to score 41 in Kansas City.

Haha, come on fellas...no ban bets, no leaving bets. Make it interesting. People don't want to see either of you leave, despite what they may say (mostly about ECN, lol). OTR didn't do anything wrong, so don't bust the site's balls that way, haha. Sig bets are fun, but I have something else in mind. Since you both like to dig around and research the sport, how about the loser writes a huge article (a positive one for Boldin, negative for ECN) about the Pats? Boldin, you go out of your way to write up something that pretty much states how the Pats have proven you wrong over and over again, the greatest franchise in history (even if you don't believe it), and if ECN loses, he'll write up one that talks about them cheating, how they are overrated, etc. I'm sure both of you would hate doing that.

Let me just remind all of you that are overjoyed about this game (all of you need to calm down in this topic, it's just a game): the last time Oakland played in Denver (a week before Halloween last season), they Hulk Hogan'ed the Broncos, 59-14. When we played them in Oakland, almost a week before Christmas, we beat them 39-23, and we could've given them another 14 points if Bush wasn't hobbling around, and DHB didn't act like he was high. That first game, McFadden rushed for 165 yards on 16 attempts, and had that NASTY 57-yarder. Four TD's that game. Dude was looking like Barry Sanders every time he touched the ball. Time to do that again.

Rate 1-10 and put them in order. X-Men (2000) X2 (2003) X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) X-Men: First Class (2011) I'm going to watch First Class soon...heard it was the best, by far, but I think Origins was incredible, same goes for Last Stand.

http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/index.php?app=forums&module=extras§ion=boardrules Can't talk about anything illegal here...file-sharing, illegal broadcasting, etc. Best way to go about it is to just ask in a football topic, or in the random thread. Creating a topic just for this makes it easier for search engines to pick up.

Depends, really. Being nearly 28, and with a girl for 4 1/2 years...I'd rather be in this relationship. Now, ask me before I met her, at any time, and I'll echo your words.

Do NOT let her convince you that you need to spend less time on OTR. DON'T LET HER DO IT.

Ha, yeah...they still say that, despite Osama taking credit for it, not to mention there were eye witnesses, normal people, that saw a plane hit the Pentagon. Anyone who thinks the towers were blown up didn't pay attention to the way the tops collapsed, either. They leaned and collapsed on one side, not straight down, which would be enough weight (along with the plane) to bring down each tower. The second fell first, IIRC, because the plane hit lower, which added more weight to the top. But, it's whatever.

I'd be amazed if the Broncos finish as the worst team in the NFL. Maybe Carolina, Jacksonville, or even Cincinnati...but Denver? I don't know. I think they'll win 5-6 games, a little better than last season, but who knows with them. Oakland sounds about right, but I'm fearing other teams' passing game, now that we don't have Asomugha. Every game, we were almost certain that the opposing primary WR wasn't going to go big on us. Things are a little different now. Ah, and no Zach Miller, although we did get Kevin Boss (who is basically the same size, almost the same production, even though I'm assuming Miller had more receptions just because our receiver core sucks). DHB needs to step his game up. Now or never. The dude is lightning quick, but he's so damn inconsistent...never really know what's going to happen down the field with him. I just hope it's not another one of those seven-win seasons, where we lose games we need to win to have a shot at the playoffs, and win just enough to miss out on the best QB in the draft in the process.
-
So was Adam Morrison. Yes, Goudelock is arguably the best three-point shooter in the draft...saw a few of his games. But, I have this pet peeve (an NBA peeve?) to where I never overrate a second round player, especially when all I have to base it on is what they've done against inferior competition.

Convincing Deron Williams to Stay
Real Deal replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
One thing is for sure: the CBA could change it up. If there's a hard cap, I don't see why Deron would leave the Nets. He sure the hell won't be going to a stacked contender that's already paying for two other max deals. -
So if the three ISO players are the problem, what makes CP3 a better choice if Melo and Amare are both going to take the ball out of his hands? Isn't that what teams would want? I'd much rather have to take Melo in an ISO (and even Amare) over CP3 running P&R's all the time? That stuff worked in Phoenix up until they ran into teams that could play offense AND defense, and I don't see why it wouldn't be the same situation in New York. Ironically, D'Antoni would be coaching them. If Nash, Amare and Marion didn't work out, despite the team having pretty damn good defenders in Marion and Bell (and they even had Joe Johnson, at one point), I don't see how the trio of Melo, CP3 and Amare would win a championship when they have no defensive anchor, Amare is a total wreck on the defensive end, and Melo struggled containing Luke Walton before he became Puke Walton. And, additionally, Melo plays outside of 15 feet. He's not Ray Allen, but he has extended range out to 21-22 feet before he starts missing open jumpers. But, again, there's no doubt in my mind that both teams would go to the ECF's...I would just rather have a team that has a defensive anchor and a true post scorer, not to mention a top two rebounder in the NBA and exceptional shot-blocker.

Well, of course, the Knicks aren't going to compare to the Celtics if we're going THAT far (matching player to player). I'm saying that, if they want to be a serious contender, they don't need to add a three-point shooting PG, and James Jones would do the trick at the two-guard position if they have a true PG, Howard, Melo and Amare. If that's not good enough to put this Knicks team in the NBA Finals, Howard, Melo and Amare are pathetic players. Dwight would most likely defer on the offensive end, a pass-first point would distribute, and Jones would be standing at the three, ala Fisher (and that's all he EVER did in Miami), and that team would find their way in the ECF's, guaranteed. Maybe the Heat would give them a run for their money, but it's going seven, especially since Howard would be more difficult to contain than LeBron.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat dude. All of that (well, Lantus and Humalog for me), plus three different types of blood pressure medicine (Losartan, Clonidine, and Diltiazem), AND an anti-seizure med named Dilantin (because I go into seizures when my blood sugar drops below 50, most of the time)...and adding the strips and syringes, well, it sucks?
-
Nah bro, I can go out to Wal-Mart and get a cheap meter, with probably 25 strips, for $15. I just don't like using anything else, lol. Thanks though. Test strips are the worst thing to buy. I can go a couple months having to spend $100 on insulin (assuming I didn't have any insurance at all), but damn man...if I test my blood just five times a day, 30 days a month, that's around $150...and usually, I'm testing 7-8 times when I'm active and playing ball or working out (which is almost every day). Ridiculous, all for a [expletive]ing plastic strip.
-
Well, if it came down to it, why would the Knicks keep D'Antoni to begin with? If it meant getting Howard and finding the right coach for whatever system (offensive AND defensive) they want in place, so be it. D'Antoni is not Phil or Pop. And the PG doesn't necessarily have to be able to shoot the ball. There are shooters everywhere in the league...the Knicks can find one for cheap. They can seek someone like James Jones. Grab a PG that is a true point, and that's that. Rondo is a horrible shooter, but that's all gravy because guys like Ray Allen and Paul Pierce are knocking down shots, just as James Jones and Carmelo Anthony would (not to compare Jones to Ray, but both are extremely good three-point shooters).

AUGUST, idk man wow.

His argument is based on the new CBA and what could become of it. Heavily based on that, and the fact that Kobe is reaching the end of his career. Also, he's a Chicago native (IIRC), and he's a huge fan of almost all Chicago teams, so there's no obvious bias, unless he just hates Kobe and/or the Lakeshow. So, really, he has a good argument because, if we look at the future situation with both clubs AND what could become of the CBA, there's a chance that the Clippers could be a better team for a few years, for the simple fact that Blake Griffin MAY love LA enough to actually stay, and Sterling won't have to break the bank to compete with the surrounding conference teams in a situation where the league adopts the hard cap (among other things eliminated from the picture, such as MLE's). Overall, on the historical stage? No way, but I don't think he's talking about that.

Gonna go drive to Sacramento and beat this person's ass on eBay, for not sending me my blood sugar test strips. I've had to test my blood much less over the last week because of it, and also had to go to Wal-Mart today and spend $55 for 50 strips, instead of the $35 I purchased the 100 strips for on eBay (that I haven't gotten since the 20th of August).

Well, before this recent surgery, even when I found out he was going to miss the game (which was made official yesterday, or...can't remember), I figured it was going to be a month-to-month thing. The complications AFTER a neck surgery indicate that his nerves are causing him a lot of trouble, and after reading the details of the first AND second surgery, those problems can lead to an athlete being paralyzed. I know people aren't going to think about this threatening his entire career yet, because the Colts and Peyton aren't making it out to be THAT big of a deal (they won't even say he's done for the year, and he may not be, but he's close). Thing is, one more surgical procedure probably ends it all. Doctors will more than likely tell him it's football and living the second half of his life in a wheelchair or with severe nerve damage, or taking his money and finding another way to stay involved in the sport. I'm not a fan of the Colts, but I'm a fan of Manning (much like the Rockets and Yao), and I don't want to see the guy go out like that. After seeing all of the big hits and concussions occurring last season, though, it has to be weighing on Peyton's mind, even a little.

Wow...nice. Good game.

ONE MORE PLAY! Doubt they get it.
