  1. Man, it's been hell over the years. I've had two major injuries, two that were bad enough to change my game and the way I played, and then one that was "severe" but didn't hurt me too much. The eye problem may be the worst, because my depth perception is off, and it's always hard to follow through and (at the same time) keep your arm out of your face in order to see the rim. I learned to sort of turn my body on my shot a bit, but it puts a lot more on my shooting arm. Back in HS (my junior year), that's when I basically obliterated my ankle, didn't play both of those years (we won the State Championship when I was a junior, and it [expletive]ing KILLED me not being able to get that ring, even though we won). I went through physical therapy sessions, carried them over to the part and did my own thing, had to learn how to push off certain parts of my foot I've never used before (when driving to the rim), using those parts to pivot, etc. It was my left ankle, so I had trouble jumping, felt like a soda can collapsing underneath my foot every jump (like I was jumping off one), just not getting the elevation or the balance. I tore up my pinkie on my shooting hand, a severe dislocation, but really, it didn't mean too much...you aren't supposed to use your pinkie to shoot (not as much as the other fingers, anyway). Having all of that, and being a diabetic with high blood pressure and one eye...it is STILL difficult to stay away from the game. One reason why I created OTR was to bring a ton of people over from another board that wasn't treating them right, but many don't know that the other reason was because of everything that tried to keep me away from the courts, and I had so much time on my hands that I needed a basketball fix. I've had some great games I'd probably never duplicate, and I've had some terrible games I'd never hope to duplicate. One was from that 0-8 season, where I tried to facilitate and kept turning the ball over, and we lost by 32. I had probably 14 points...can't remember. Shot poorly. I was so frustrated, my defense sucked, and we were playing a team who was easily the best defensive team in the league that year.
  2. Had an incredible night playing basketball. Over the last two years, I've had trouble driving to the rim (losing speed, and I'm actually in fear of getting hit in my good eye), so I have been shooting 300-500 jumpers a night, and I score most of my points with jumpshots. Welllll...tonight, instead of pulling up at the elbow, or elevating quickly off the dribble, I decided to take a taller guy in the post, which is usually a mistake because of the length advantage he has. I completely dominated, and I'm thinking that, now, I've found my secret weapon when my mid-range and three isn't falling. Plus, I've never pump-faked a guy any better than I did him. He bit on one of them bad enough to unintentionally knee me in the gut, and I hit this beautiful fadeaway on him in the process (not even sure how I made it, THAT particular shot was luck because he knocked the wind out of me). He's one of the best defensive players out there, too. I wish I would've done this all summer long, though. Now, I can play all 24 feet from the rim to the three, run the point and then take the post against anyone, big or small. I've got about six or seven go-to post moves that I've got down pretty well. That, and being in the triple threat, are my two favorite things. Dudes out there are toast when I'm in the triple threat. Biggest mistakes they make, to let me catch the ball in that position. WHERE ARE YOU, NBA? I miss basketball.
  3. I can't look at those individual or team awards, because Wade would have more All-NBA 1st Teams if it wasn't for Kobe Bryant (just an example, of course). The overall better player is LeBron, in my opinion...but, as I've done in the past, I split this discussion in half. Who has had the greater career? Probably Wade, because championships matter in regards to greatness, and Wade isn't THAT far off from LeBron in regards to abilities. Who has been the better player? LeBron, because he does more on the court each night. People will sit here and talk about how Wade played the Mavericks, but it was Wade that was choking against Chicago (IIRC), and LeBron played very well in that series. There's just too many factors when debating these types of things. Is Robert Horry better than Horace Grant? Is Steve Nash better than John Stockton? Is Kevin Johnson better than Steve Nash? As much as I dislike the man, I'll take LeBron over Wade. He has been healthier, does more on the glass and facilitating, and he's a little harder to stop...but many (as I do) will consider Wade having the greater career.
  4. Cox Cable. I'll never get Dish OR DirecTV again. Too much bad weather in Kansas.
  5. There are more cities in the United States than just the one you live in. Come to my town and take a shower, walk out and smell like chlorine, and see if that changes your mind about drinking tap water. Or, you can just go to a sink in this town and try it yourself.
  6. Or your posts telling us how you were there, and why there's no way LeBron would hurt a soul on this Earth. But, fortunately for you, it's not LeBron. We'd never hear a story about LeBron doing this because, if this were to really happen to James in church, he'd probably start posing at the altar, wearing a shirt that says, "I don't walk on water, I just jump over it," and signing the covers of all the Bibles in the church.
  7. Nike Dri-Fit > Under Armour 2011 Iverson > Jennings I won't even tell you what I think about Kobe, LeBron and Howard when compared to B-Jen. This is sad.
  8. Alright, I've been listening to this for a couple of days now (yeah, I'm late), and I'm still trying to figure out what's so good about it. I can see the argument for the beat, but other than that, I don't get it. Drake sucks, and Weezy's punchlines sound like they were written by just some no-name off the streets.
  9. DeMar DeRozan, Marcus Williams, Ed Davis, Pooh Jeter, and Hassan Adams are also in it, I believe.
  10. Haha, frequently. Diabetics need twice as much water, especially when they are active. One high blood sugar drains all of the water out of my body/muscles, and I can lose 5-10 pounds in a matter of 24 hours (which is bad on your heart). Water is a big, big deal.
  11. Free pass for what? LOL...this just happened, and it's making news on MSN (more reads than the 27-year old hockey player that just died Monday). Some of you would like to see a crucifixion, right? If the story didn't include something about the man's wrist being injured enough for him to have to go to the hospital (lol), then I'd probably believe it...but, with that included, it sounds like a load of BS. Quite frankly, the guy shouldn't have been doing that during service...but, on the other hand, Kobe should be used to it by now. I swear, some of you are hilarious. I hope Kobe writes the guy a $100 check for the doctor diagnosing a minor wrist sprain, lol. Maybe Kobe will add an extra $15 to go buy a cheap wrist brace over at Wal-Mart.
  12. Two in the morning, two in the afternoon, two in the evening, and one before bedtime (and an extra one if I'm working out, but sometimes I'll have a Powerade)...but I'm cutting back just a bit because I can't afford to buy so much water every two days (since Jessica drinks it as well). I'd say over the last month, I've been drinking anywhere from 6-8 bottles a day.
  13. More than just that sequence, unless you're talking about the bad pass afterwards, followed by his man hitting a three back down the court. But, yeah, all LeBron has to do is stick his head down and have 50 dunks. He was just over-dribbling and probably getting ready to show off.
  14. Glad we can still watch basketball...not the greatest quality, but yeah, lol. There's the game-winner. If anyone finds the highlights, you can post them. I'm on my iPhone, and searching for those sucks.
  15. I am shocked you didn't mention John Wall's name. Maybe you'd rather have Luis "The Beast" Scola.
  16. Did you want me to choose the one where she was airbrushed? LOL, sure, that's the only picture she looks good in, because it's art. The other three pictures, she has a lot of makeup on, which takes focus away from her weird-shaped "troll face" chin/mouth, and her abnormal nose, and her eyes are spaced out a bit too far, and a lot of eyeliner will change that, puts them "deeper" into her face, which gives you the illusion that they aren't so far apart.
  17. Super fake, dude. Every inch of her. She has probably had 100 dudes, would be one of the worst chicks you could look at in the morning, and I'm going to assume she is Prince's twin in that photo above. Just imagine her with a skinny mustache and shorter hair, and you'll see why I think her face is a bit too deformed. Makeup does wonders, especially when she cakes it on.
  18. Dennis is a beast. I'm surprised he said what he did, though. I didn't think he'd reach that far, but good for him. Well-deserved spot in the Hall, by the way. He's the greatest defender to ever play the game, and I'm not quite sure if anyone else is close.
  19. Read the rest: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/15/opinion/stop-coddling-the-super-rich.html
  20. Looks like he cut his chin shaving before that photo shoot.
  21. Tea Tree Oil. Hold your breath, though...it smells bad.
