  1. Right, he was doing his best to get his 16th and miss the Kings game, so we can lose tonight and tomorrow, fall to the 4th seed, and lose HCA for a potential three series.
  2. I don't know. What did the Lakers have to do with Lakers fans coming into the Heat topics only when they lose (according to you)? Weird that you're in here, but you rarely came into the topics during the 17-1 streak. Maybe I should whine and cry about it, too? We weren't the attention whores all season long. I'm not sure why you care so much about a Lakers/Spurs game that doesn't include Parker, Gino or Duncan, and means little to nothing to the Heat at this time.
  3. http://johnjohnsaidit.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/d-wade1.jpg http://stacheketball.neswblogs.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/lebron-james-crying-miami-heat.jpg I'll find the GIF of LeBron kicking over the chairs on his way to the locker room, if you'd like. Bad time to talk shit right now.
  4. Bad results, and tragic results, are two different things. If you're young, and a doctor tells you that you may die (or even become paralyzed), I'm pretty sure that's the perfect stop sign. If it was about wrestling with a tear in his index finger, that's something else...but this is a neck/spinal injury.
  5. Mind = blown. I would've never guessed Andrew Bynum would get injured for the fourth time in four seasons.
  6. The Lakers don't care who they play in the first round, dude. They really don't care about anything, it seems. And the Nuggets would not beat them in a series, let alone in six games. Denver may be able to cause problems for anyone else out West in a series, but they would not beat LA. Seems like you say something like that every year, though.
  7. I really don't know. I'm not sure if we'll run into any surprises along the way. If I were to make any kind of bold statement, I guess I'd say the Thunder OR Nuggets will beat the Spurs in the second round...but, if it's the Thunder, it's not really that much of a reach, and people suspect it to begin with. I could see the BOS/NYK series going seven. Would it be a surprise to see Atlanta beat the Magic?
  8. That's basically the idea for anyone who exercises. I've got a friend who figured he was going to hit the gym six times a week, and keep eating like a pig, and he wasted his time. One or the other (diet or exercise) doesn't work alone, and that's where a lot of people make a mistake, especially those who go on diets with a starting weight of 250, expecting to end up 170. Nearly impossible if you don't exercise (unless you're starving yourself, which will cause major health problems). I'm a little different. I can go months without exercising, eat junk food, and not gain a pound because of my diabetes. It would run my blood sugars up and hurt my overall health, but that's how it would work for me, if I went that route. At the same time, I can eat right and not exercise, and still maintain my current weight also because of my diabetes, and the way my body burns fat for insulin with just one single high blood sugar. People are less fortunate (or, well, I don't consider myself fortunate due to having diabetes, but you know what I mean) and they have to work super hard to not only put on muscle, but to lose the fat and look better.
  9. Whatever we need to do, I guess. Trey Johnson needs to take on an Ariza role, if he wants to fit in, and not try and dominate the ball like he did in the D-League.
  10. Adult chicken pox is Shingles, and it hurts, and it's very contagious. I had it a couple of years ago. There's nothing wrong with him sitting out. Chicken pox, for kids, isn't near as bad...but when it's Shingles, it's hell.
  11. The EXACT same thing happened to my dad around that time (either 2003 or 2004), when he landed on his neck doing a backflip on a trampoline. He had the same surgery, and is having the same problems today (lack of fluid, numbness in hands/arms, etc). Pretty crazy that Edge continued to wrestle in that state...a genius move to retire, because he was absolutely ignorant for wrestling and risking paralysis.
  12. ? Ab crunches are called ab crunches for a reason. They are the most distinct ab-building exercises you can do. If we're talking just lower abs, bicycle crunches do the trick. People would rather do leg raises because they are easier, but there are numerous types of crunches you can do to work every inch of your abdomen.
  13. That, or some coaches actually alter their rotations. Some give reasons (such as how they need to rest their guys). I'm sure it happens. Sometimes, coaches would rather play it smart and go with the easier road, if it presents itself.
  14. Well, Doc just lost HCA to Miami. If there's a Game 7 in the second round, I wonder how he'll feel about his decision to not play his big four in this one.
  15. Durant and Cousins shot a combined 38 free throws, and both teams a combined 79. Sacramento actually kept it close most of the game, but Durant shot six free throws in the last minute or two of the game, kept getting to the line. Fun game for a while, but the refs were calling everything.
  16. Warriors' defense is AWFUL. How does a Denver team score 134 points, nine players in double-digits, while sitting Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, and Al Harrington? Not to mention the fact that Nene left the game after 16 minutes (groin). Denver has to heal up before the playoffs, though. The Thunder (if they stay 4th) aren't the Warriors.
  17. Toronto sat half of the talent on their roster (Bargs, Barbosa, Calderon, Evans, Amir, Weems), gave Bayless the green light to shoot, and they still almost beat the Bucks. Very good game by Ed Davis, though (15/11) and I was impressed with Dorsey's 20 boards, even though Milwaukee was without Bogut.
  18. It looks like the Hornets are going to be matched up with the Spurs in the first round. I don't see them beating Dallas on Wednesday (in Dallas), and I'm not really sure if they are going to win a single game against the Spurs, either.
  19. Well, Philly, now you have Miami in the first round, instead of Boston. I'm not really sure if that's a good thing.
  20. Something to note, though, and sort of related to what you said about him knowing he's not a good three-point shooter: he has only five games attempting three a game, and that's the season high in attempts for him (2-15 in those five games, by the way). And, just for kicks...that chart above shows the bottom 20. Jordan attempted 53 threes in 1987-88, shot 13.2%. Also, Magic Johnson went 0-21 from three in the 1982-83 season.
  21. For abs, drink water, eat berries, and digest any protein you can find with every meal you have. Six meals a day, three small and three medium-sized (although I break that rule and eat three large, three small). Milk right after a workout works wonders, also. I'm not going to bother telling you how to work your abs, because it's really different for everyone...it all depends on how you eat before anything else. You have to lose the stomach first. I do 300 crunches every night, then grab a glass of milk, a chunk of cheese (yes, off the block) and a bottle of water. Not going to take a new picture of my abs just for the topic, but they look exactly the same as they did in this picture: http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/13659_198687691652_502396652_3570234_176836_n.jpg Don't break the routine, though. If you slip and get into lazy mode for a week, it's going to hurt you. And, don't work out like crazy on two days a week (that weekend warrior stuff). It's very bad on your body, and you can easily tear a muscle, or end up with blood pressure/heart problems.
  22. For the very first KIR, we're going to go to the community and pick a participant. Nominate by posting the member's display name in this topic.
  23. The KIR rules are very simple... 1) All members will have an opportunity to ask a maximum of 15 questions per participant, and five days to ask. 2) Questions will be subject to the same guidelines laid out for all content on KIR. No personal attacks, no inappropriate questions. 3) The participant may refuse to answer any question he/she wishes. After the participant fills out the answers, he/she will be asked to select the next participant from those that asked questions. No one can be selected more than once, and if everyone involved has had a chance, an exception will be made, and the participant will be allowed to select from the community outside of KIR. Very similar to the old KIR, but with a twist.
