  1. 2009-10 - Scott Brooks, Oklahoma City (still with team) 2008-09 - Mike Brown, Cleveland (out after the 2009-10 season) 2007-08 - Byron Scott, New Orleans (out in 2009-10, nine games in) 2006-07 - Sam Mitchell, Toronto (out during the 2008-09 season, 17 games in) 2005-06 - Avery Johnson, Dallas (gone after the 2007-08 season) 2004-05 - Mike D'Antoni, Phoenix (gone after the 2007-08 season) 2003-04 - Hubie Brown, Memphis (left the following season, 12 games in) 2002-03 - Gregg Popovich, San Antonio (still with team) Since Pop, it seems like a lot of COY's don't seem to last long with the team they won it with.
  2. I'm assuming it's more about the awards (COY and MVP) being a joke than anything else, which I actually agree with, to an extent.

  9. The maintenance IS tonight. They are performing backups, which is very important (we know this more than most, right?), and they want to be sure they have everything backed up ASAP. We should be good tomorrow, if not late tonight (things are running a bit faster right now, anyway).
  10. The Truth. Anyway, I'll go ahead and close this sucker up.
  11. Hey guys, we're back to the way we were, no distractions. YES! Anyway...I'll go ahead and say it: good game by the Nuggets. I honestly don't mind the loss as much, now that Drew and Gasol are hurt. Gasol is getting an MRI tomorrow, and I'm praying that Drew is okay. Right now, those are the two most important things. The Spurs can have their #1 seed.
  12. Also... I love quoting these things. I've quoted a few of them for years now. Always enjoyable to go back and check them out. Hope you enjoyed your stay here. Please leave, as you promised. http://thelakersnation.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/81.gif
  13. What makes you think you're gonna do that?
  14. Sorry about that, Cavamatic...it's all you. Topics merged.
  15. Maintenance could be tonight instead, not sure. I didn't see any downtime last night, so I'm assuming all of it will be checked tonight. Who knows at this point. Hang in there, fellas.
  16. Practicing his submissions for an MMA appearance? Very nice match.
  17. Deleted post. Get off my board. By the way, OTR has over 3,000 members, not just 700. We were hacked, and started over not too long ago. Don't talk about OTR anywhere else and expect to be here.
  18. That's true. The only thing that pisses me off about Gasol is that he goes away from the post when we need him down there. It's cool to post up on the less-talented defensive players, or bench players...but there are many times where Gasol holds the ball 15-18 feet from the rim, and you just KNOW he's about to shoot it. He's a finesse player, and he's a two-time champ as a second-option scorer. He's been very good for us (won't say great because that word is reserved for guys like Duncan and Malone). We just need him to become more aggressive on the block, which is something Phil and Kobe have stated over and over again.
  19. He's a troll now, and if he's not, he'll prove me wrong. He doesn't go off about the entire community being Lakers fans, saying the only way you get accepted is being a Lakers fan or a Kobe nut hugger. THAT is blasting this community, and THAT makes him a troll that will eventually have trouble seeing these forums as a guest, let alone a member. He's still here, so stop bitching. I'm not holding anyone's hand, new or old members. If it was about him disagreeing with me in some Kobe/Jordan shit, that means N/A would've been LONG gone far before the other day. Same with a few others here.
  20. He came here baiting the Laker fans, trashing the community. He stated that most of the site was Lakers fans (in the gameday topic), which is absolutely false...and I proved that. He mouthed off about them in the gameday topic. He is in this topic ONLY for that very reason. And if you think something is wrong with OTR, go put up your own damn site, message me in a year and tell me how things are going. Here's what's wrong with OTR: every month or so, we run into trolls, and I do my best to keep them here. We also run into unintelligent posters that I wait for, waiting for them to change and start respecting all 30 fanbases. I'm hard as hell on the Heat, but I won't look like a dumbass and say that LeBron isn't a top three player in the NBA. Same with Wade. I've stated that the Heat can get to the Finals. It's all based on what I watch, not my team and who I hate. Don't talk shit on my guys. They have put in far, far more than you have around here. They have done much more for this site. When they see someone that is similar to the other trolls we've had over the last six years, they will call them out. Go ahead and stick yourself in the same boat, dude. We'll continue posting, with or without you. Trust me.
  21. I never said that. It was obvious I wasn't referring to Martin because I clearly stated that a player wouldn't have reason to do it if he hit a jumper in the third quarter, shooting badly. Did Kenyon Martin trash talk in the third quarter, or was it at the end of the game?
  22. No polls for you guys to vote in AFTER the game. UConn? Butler? Can't wait.
  23. That delayed suplex off the middle rope was pretty damn impressive.
