The importance of the Cleveland game
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
So you wouldn't be more comfortable having a Game 7 in Miami, against the Celtics or Bulls, versus having it on the road? From a personal experience with the Lakers, I'm thankful for HCA. The last three playoff series we didn't have it, we lost (2008 Finals vs. Boston, 2006 and 2007 vs. Phoenix). -
You +1'd my post, but you continue to say that. The Heat were without two of those three, and Cleveland was as strong as ever, when the Heat beat them by 28. Late in the season, Cleveland has nothing to play for in regards to the season AND they are missing Varejao and Jamison (unlike the first game), and Miami is trying to catch the Celtics...yet, the Heat lose by 12. There are no excuses for the loss.

Bumpity-bump. -
Not only that, but when the Heat blew out Cleveland on December 2nd (by 28), there was no Mike Miller or Udonis Haslem as well, and the Cavaliers had both Varejao and Jamison.

Wrestlemania 27 Discussion
Real Deal replied to Cleveland's Finest's topic in MMA, Wrestling and Boxing Forum
I see The Rock screwing The Miz, helping Cena win...and then dropping Cena after the match and starting the feud that will eventually end up being a title match between Rock and Cena. If The Rock helps Miz win the match, it could turn a few people against him, and I don't think Vince wants to risk that. -
The importance of the Cleveland game
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
The way the Knicks have been playing, I'm sure the Heat would welcome that first round match-up. Three's Company would average 150 a game by themselves. I think the Heat would value having HCA over Boston more than avoiding that MIA/NY first round. -
LOL I was thinking the same thing. There's a huge amount of draw for him among all the kiddies who probably have no idea who The Rock is, but for the most part, the fans are starting to boo Cena more and more. I'm not sure if he'll ever completely turn heel, though. It would take much more than what he did on Raw.

Yesterday, I was pissed off to see that Flash didn't think the game was really that important for Cleveland fans. Now I'm ready to explain why. While I figured they would lose the game, the Cavaliers decided they were going to bring it last night, and they did it with physical play, and a few new (and motivated) players. Cleveland's Finest hit the nail on the head with his first post in that game topic. However, it wasn't really about how important it was for Cleveland...but more about how it seemed far, far less important to Miami...as if, the game was already in the books, and it was going to be a 50-point blowout. Today is a new day, and here's what I'm seeing... TEAM W L PCT 1. Chicago 53 20 0.726 2. Boston 51 22 0.699 3. Miami 51 23 0.689 Also, the Heat have a pretty damn good chance of going 7-1 to end the season. @ Washington @ Minnesota @ New Jersey vs. Milwaukee vs. Charlotte vs. Boston @ Atlanta @ Toronto Looking at the Bulls' schedule, they have a similar road, Boston and Orlando being their two tough opponents to end the year, and with Miami being three losses back AND not having the tie-breaker against the Bulls, just how important did this Cleveland loss become overnight, and how big will it be in the middle of April? LeBron made a comment after the game, saying that he basically walked into the game as he did on December 2nd, wanting to win, and that both were as important as the other. However, he added that it was a step backwards, at this point of the season, and he's exactly right. My quote from the topic... If the Heat end up a third seed, behind Chicago and Boston (or second, behind Chicago), by just one game in the standings, and they go on to face one of them in the second round, go seven games and lose the GM7 road game...guess who will be smiling the most? The Cleveland fans, because they had absolutely nothing else to play for (no playoffs) but their pride, and the eventual satisfaction of seeing this team lose in the second round, much like their own team did last season, to probably the same exact team as well (Boston). Was the game big for Cleveland? Sure, in their eyes, yet it could be much more important for the Heat by the time the playoffs roll around.

Derrick Williams Entering NBA Draft
Real Deal replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in NBA Draft History
Biedrins is complete trash. They need to send him off before anyone else. Getting Williams would be great for them, but then, they need to look for a real center that actually has the ability to play the position. -
Derrick Williams Entering NBA Draft
Real Deal replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in NBA Draft History
It's not a jaw-dropping announcement, as you said. Williams is going to take advantage of his draft value. Everyone saw him on a grand stage, knocking out the defending champs and playing very, very well doing it...and with the big numbers throughout the season to back it up, it's wise to take that opportunity. Could be a pretty damn good player in the NBA, versatile SF with a lot of Danny Granger in him. If he hits the gym and puts on a lot of muscle, he could be a strong four, and very tough to defend. -
No. He doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as our dedicated guys. He made it clear he didn't care if he was banned, and in the past, he had no problem asking me for a ban, creating a topic telling me to ban him "because everyone wants him banned," racking up 3-4 different usernames that I had to merge at one point, spamming OTR with a blog link over and over again (with another username), trashing a few of our guys in a couple of baseball topics (he got away with it), getting banned twice (still gave him permission to return), among many other things I don't have to bring up because it's clear as day why he's gone. What he said to me in here was just the tip of the iceberg. He had it coming. Does a dedicated member have that resume? I don't think so. I don't care if he has 3k posts, or 30k. That goes for any member, for that matter. I've had help stabilizing a community free from trolls, multiple joke accounts, and ridiculous posters. It will remain that way. Pretty odd the majority of the community doesn't give a damn about the ban, right? Most are for it, and wish it would've happened earlier. I apologize to all of those that feel that way, because I should've never lifted the old bans in the first place, and I'll learn from my mistakes.

I figured it was one or the other, or that N/A freaked out that he was banned, called up his buddy and told him (kind of weird), and he decided to log in after months of not being here, just to tell us he wasn't going to post here. :wallbash3:

Durant didn't smile at all, and the Warriors bench was trying to joke with him. 30-point OT for Durant? -

What the hell just happened? Wow. -
He had multiple accounts, he figured he had a big enough e-chest to mouth off and tell me where and when to post on my forums, and he just wasn't right for the community to begin with. Didn't fit in. I tried. No reason to waste time discussing him. He's gone for good. Thread closed.

Heat fans were actually enjoying the major distraction in this topic, but you ruined it for them.

OKC Thunder, cutie. -
Haha, yeah. He used another name (TyTheSportsGuy, or something along those lines) to spam OTR once, for some blog. There was another (MFFL41) that he used. I may have merged two more into his N/A name, can't remember. I've known about it for a while, the Mentch name, but I figured he was done with that account. I usually monitor members a little more when they have multiple accounts, anyway.

http://i53.tinypic.com/ic62hy.jpg He didn't use the same IP tonight, but he has before. And, he's notorious for having 3-4 different names.

Why did you sign in right after he was banned?
