  1. Duncan was a very good rookie, but the extra wins gained by drafting him is all due to the fact that the Spurs (and, mainly, David Robinson) tanked to get that #1 pick.
  2. Did he just do this recently, after he found out the Melo deal fell through, or...? It's Troy Murphy, though. Not that big of a loss considering the way he has performed so far this year. I'm surprised he's even hitting rim on his shots.
  3. He may not be the best point guard in the NBA, but he's a better guard than Deron Williams. All-NBA teams don't go by position. They call for two guards, two forwards and a center. KB and Wade have been selected as the two guards over the last two seasons. So, while I wouldn't put him over CP3 as the top PG in the NBA, I'll stick him on the All-NBA First Team over Paul and Williams because he's playing out of his mind right now, and doing it with less help.
  4. I was in the same boat. I got a call from a friend, and he told me to turn it to the Lakers game...and it wasn't being televised, and I didn't have League Pass. So I ran to NBA.com and found an audio link to the game, and I listened to it the rest of the way (he was in the 60's when I first put it on). And, yeah Kyle, Farhan hooked me up too. I still have the DVD somewhere.

How does it stack up among the greatest performances in NBA history? Kobe, baby! http://thelakersnation.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/81.gif
  7. It's actually a legitimate argument as to why we're not flowing with activity. Thing is, I would take what we have now, without a doubt, over having trolls and dealing with 20-page arguments over irrelevant things.
  8. Interested in re-drafts? An all-time draft? Maybe a simplified mock? I don't even know.
  9. THAT will be done near the end of March, as we prepare for the playoffs.
  10. Haha, I really don't care, either. I just know that some probably do.
  11. And, when the smoke clears, the Lakers are defending champs with Derek Fisher (lol) as the starting point guard...and, really, he's more of a two-guard. Hell, so is Blake. We don't even have a real point guard. But, yes...there are a lot of talented point guards out there, but keep an eye out for the PF's as well. Dirk, Amare, Garnett, Griffin, Gasol, Love, Boozer, Odom, Bosh, West, Aldridge, Duncan...a lot to talk about.
  12. Twitter vs. Real Deal? http://thelakersnation.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/kobeface.gif
  13. Five or six years ago, message boards would fall due to others swooping in and drawing interest, stealing members just because they were brand new and interesting. Now, it seems like Twitter is killing activity. I've seen so many people talk on Twitter while they are watching games...shooting off multiple tweets about the game. Stuff like that kills message board activity. To be honest, it's probably the biggest challenge yet...running a board with Twitter being as dominant as it is right now. Numerous sources will hit up Twitter with current news way, way before even a radio station or a news channel (ex. ESPN) will, and by the time it's posted on OTR, everyone already knows about it and have talked about it on Twitter, or on Facebook. There's a reason why IPB has a lot of social networking features, such as status messages. Social networks are proving to be the site killers. News sites, message boards...it's getting tough to run these nowadays.
  14. Haha, yeah, when everyone had free League Pass, those game threads were nice.
  15. See title. And, activity meaning sports in general. Off-topic is fine, too, but I think we need to try and stay on the right path when it comes to basketball/sports talk.
  16. Hmm...I figured that would be Emeka, but I knew CP3 was playing very good defense as well. Both have been doing really well, just by what I've seen during games.
  17. Wade seemed to be completely irrelevant in that OT. Didn't look like anyone cared to give him the ball, and he didn't seem to want it. And when LeBron passed the ball in both clutch situations (last possession of the 4th and OT), he just stood 26 feet from the rim and waited for Chalmers (of all people) to win the game, and Chalmers got it back to him for a nearly-impossible three. Don't get what any of that was about.
