The current playoff teams in the West
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
How did you know? :o -
Nah, it shouldn't happen. Too many negative factors. For example, teams located overseas would have to be included in the NBA Draft, and there are college players that may have families (meaning, kids and a wife/girlfriend) that don't want to travel or live anywhere else but the states. Traveling would also be a mess. Coaches like Phil Jackson would have already retired (he almost retired once already, and considered only coaching the home games, letting Rambis coach away). Scheduling would be a disaster, due to the fact that it would only be ideal to have the original teams travel and play multiple games overseas, instead of one-and-done traveling, hopping on planes and making multiple trips like that per month. With 30 (or more) teams to fit into a schedule like that, and just six regular-season months to do it, it would be nearly impossible. The worst part is, the international teams would suffer the most, having to play 50% of their games "on the road" in an entirely different country. That's a lot of back-and-forth, and as stated above, their schedule would be a mess because, unlike the rest, they would need to stack a lot of road games (and home games) together, and it's not fair to them or the rest of the league. What happens if an NBA Finals team is from, say, Spain? And what if they have HCA? That means, potentially, four games would be played outside of the US...which, no matter how you swing it, is bad for our country and its support of NBA basketball. International basketball is doing fine. They have their own teams, own leagues, own tourneys and own champions. We have no reason to play games outside of the states, have less games broadcast on local/national TV, and lose US fan support because it may mean we'll need to drop a few teams from the roster. No thanks.

Titans owner advised to cut Young, keep Fisher
Real Deal replied to The Truth's topic in AFC Conference Discussion
Some of us see that he can play better than our current QBs on our favorite teams. I don't think anyone is putting Young in the same category as Vick, McNabb, or any other QB that can run and throw, but he would help out a few bottom-feeding teams AND would be ideal in a place like Oakland, who has been searching for life at the QB position since Gannon's career-ending injury. The Raiders are going to look at running the ball more and more anyway, and since Al Davis drafts the fastest players he can find, Young won't have any problem throwing the deep ball there, as long as he has a few receivers under it to bring it home. -
Kevin Love is just ridiculous
Real Deal replied to Dash's topic in Minnesota Timberwolves Team Forum
The dude grabs basketballs off the glass like he has on a pair of receiver gloves. I wouldn't say he's an all-star (over Dirk, Gasol, Durant, Melo?), but he's still playing better than Mayo, which should haunt the Grizzlies for a few years. -
He needs to be in the ASG.

Nets GM: "Brook won't be a 10 rebound guy"
Real Deal replied to AboveLegit's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Sorry, but I laughed at this. Haha, riiiiight...because Kareem averaged anywhere between 10-17 RPG for the first 12 seasons of his career, averaged nine a game when he was 34. -
Bosh had 2x as Many AS Votes in Toronto
Real Deal replied to Check my Stats's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
Amare gets the nod, easily. He should start, followed by Garnett and Boozer (although I'm sure KG will end up winning through those fan votes). -
I just finished watching the fourth quarter of the game. Aldridge had some easy baskets that quarter, dropped about 12-14 points if I recall correctly, and missed just one shot that I can remember. And that last play going to Lee...I don't like it. Houston has to find a way to free up Martin. They can't depend on him getting open by himself, not on the last play of a game. He needs help.

Dwight Howard.

Are they still going to have the amateur dunker enter the contest? Do you guys remember that (the fan votes in the amateur dunker)? If so, Blake will come in second place, sadly. Otherwise, he's got this.

Cavaliers Offer Job To Homeless Man

HA HA. HA. Stupid iPhone wouldn't load up the topics in the CLE forum, so I gave it a shot, regardless. -

Kobe and Fisher = bros 4 lyfe.
-
Ron takes 8 seconds to take a wide-open jumper, lol.

Vince got Kobe on the arm, but oh well. The Lakers don't really communicate that well on defense. Part of that is Gasol's fault.
-
Blake with 21/16/7. Awesome game.
-
Steve "Buzz Lightyear" Blake is awful.
-
[expletive]ing great.
-
Hope Blake and Brown realize that there's a three-point line in the NBA.
-
Things are so much easier for Kobe when everyone else is moving and trying to win the game. Exclude Gasol from that quote above, though, at least for tonight. I think the Lakers would have a very comfortable lead in this game if Gasol was connected. He's still playing like he's in the third hour of a daily practice.
-
Disgusting pass from Odom to Barnes for that layup.
-
Good thing Amare isn't playing for the Suns right now. He would have 50 points against Gasol tonight.
-
Ah...I don't know about not being able to finish. Alonzo Mourning, and many other victims, have been put on a poster by Vince...and he's put up a 360 layup on the Lakers at least 20 times in his career (it seems). WTF is up with all of the techs?
