Phil getting frustrated with Kobe?
Real Deal replied to AboveLegit's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Haha, what other players? You can't "take anyone out of the game" if they were never in it to begin with. I don't think you watched the game, then. If so, you'd know that Bryant went 6-11 in that quarter, 5-6 from the FT line (that's not missing most of the time). The Lakers were down by 13 after the first 35-40 seconds of the quarter. Bryant basically did everything he could to close the gap and bring them within two points, but it wasn't going to matter because everyone else was playing like garbage, as bad (or even worse) as they were in the first half. During Bryant's third, Gasol made a dunk, Fisher was blocked by Marc, Drew put in two, Fisher missed an easy floater, Fisher missed a jumper, Drew missed a hook, Odom missed an oop, Odom missed a jumper, Blake made a shot, and Brown missed a three. Bryant was 6-11 in the third, the team was 3-10. In the first minute of the third, Rudy Gay came up with two steals, against Gasol and Artest. For the first six minutes of the quarter, the Grizzlies were held to just 8 points. In the last six, they scored 23 points. Fisher and Artest are playing like they don't have to defend anyone. Artest has been a poor player for us this year, and he and Fisher are also shooting terribly. If Phil Jackson wants to criticize what Kobe did in the third, he can also say something about his team's garbage play in the first half, when Kobe wasn't shooting the ball (1-3 in the first quarter, 1-3 in the second). In fact, sad enough, the team was down by two in the first quarter when Jackson pulled Bryant. They were down 34-27 when Bryant came back in during the second. Bryant immediately threw an assist to Fisher for a three, then hit two free throws, followed by a three of his own, to bring them within three. At that time, Conley and Randolph decided they were going to destroy Fisher and Gasol. Apparently, Phil didn't watch the game, either...too busy sitting on his high chair, thinking about retirement. -
I guess it really doesn't matter. It would probably eliminate a few useless topics in the games forum anyway. First person to create it gets a fist-pump.

Cake Boss would do better.

Haha, I really thought I was doing that already, despite me having very low expectations for this. I wasn't going to participate because I always get hooked on the NBA, completely forgetting about football (last year, I watched a lot of NBA games on Sunday, from my DVR...only watched the Raiders play outside of that).

Good job, everyone. Can't wait for the playoffs to begin. It could be where I'm at my worst, though, lol.

The poll wasn't going to make the decision for me, it was just me asking a question. If I made decisions based on the popular vote, we would be a wreck. I know of a site, right now, that was pretty popular when it was first put up...and members loved it because it gave you a chance to speak your mind, no censor, and it seemed to be fun. Big difference today, though. I will never rule it out completely, and I'm still intrigued by the idea, but I'm not going to drop it because everyone else wants me to. I'm sure people want me to have an 18+ forum for nude pictures as well, but it's not going to happen.

Close. I can't say I'm happy with missing the playoffs, but it's a win better than I expected.

For one, it's been clinically proven that fluoride reduces youth cavities by up to 40%. Hard to really go back and change those findings. Two, there's not enough fluoride in the tap to hurt anyone. There were 2-3 cases of problems in the 90's, and that's it...probably due to an accidental fluoride dump, or drinking way, way too much tap water (which is possible...hell, you can harm your body by drinking any kind of water if you're downing too much of it at once). What you're referring to was most definitely intentional (the tactic), and it was effective, and very noticeable just by the color of the water. They basically used high levels of fluoride to accomplish it, though, while our tap contains far less.

This is it for Phil, or so he says
Real Deal replied to The Truth's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
I believe it, 100%. He was very close to not coming back for last season, and there was serious talk about him coaching just the home games, Rambis coaching away and doing all the traveling, because of his health (might have been in 2008-09, but possibly last season as well, can't remember). As for someone like Karl replacing him, it's not likely. Shaw is a leading candidate. Byron Scott would be if he was available. Derek Fisher is also a candidate once he retires. In regards to Phil coaching the Heat later in his career...I'd say not a chance. Most importantly, his relationship with Jeanie Buss will prevent that from happening, most likely never coaching another franchise against her daddy's Lakers. -
DEFENSE! Funny, though...Gentry says they are going to start judging their defense from now on, but that will be pretty interesting with Carter on board, and Nash still having to play a large role (against playoff teams, at least, haha).

Haha, maybe, but did you see the picture Russell Brand posted on his Twitter the other day (and quickly removed)? http://i53.tinypic.com/25z5ci0.jpg

1) Most hated player on the Knicks right now? 2) Most memorable Knicks moment? 3) Most memorable NBA moment? 4) Insulin injections, or the pump? 5) What do you reach for if your blood sugar is 50? 6) List these diabetics in order, according to awesomeness... Adam Morrison, Jay Cutler, Walt Frazier, Chris Dudley, Jerry Stackhouse, Bret Michaels, Nick Jonas, Halle Berry, Mike Sinclair, and Rick James 7) Should Brandon Jacobs get the ball more? 8) Where do you rank Eli Manning in your list of best QB's in the league? 9) What one thing, if anything, should big bro take from Eli and apply to his game? 10) Would you drive Eddy Curry around NYC for one week?

Nets getting frustrated with Denver's demands?
Real Deal replied to Dash's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Yep. And, above all that, the Nets are probably growing impatient because they are sitting on a 9-23 record, 3-7 in their last ten games, and will basically need to win another 29-30 games to get into the playoffs in the East (based on them ending up with a .463 record, which would be good enough to give them the 7th seed today). So, the target would be 29-21 as of now, 50 games remaining...which is around Denver's winning percentage as well. Makes sense for the Nets to think that way. If Denver waits a week or two, that's another seven games...two against the Bulls, one Lakers, one Suns, all potential losses. That pretty much forces them to win what...34 games out of what's remaining? The time frame is closing. The Nets will still work the trade, because they would want Melo for next season (and seasons beyond), but they would LOVE to get this done immediately, before their chances of making the playoffs are wiped off the board. -
Everyone is healthy except for Bryant (who probably won't be "healthy" for the rest of his career), so we'll see how this turns out. Drew is starting again.

Roy Sidelined Indefinitely
Real Deal replied to The Regime's topic in Portland Trail Blazers Team Forum
It's a big deal. I have a friend that has the same exact problems, an excellent basketball player in high school who eventually had to stop playing ball competitively. He doesn't limp around or anything, can't even notice he has a problem, but put him on the court, and he's done after 15-20 minutes of playing, and has pain for 2-3 days after going out and even shooting around. -
How Far Do You Think The Bears Will Go In The Playoffs?
Real Deal replied to Pooh25's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
Do you think they'll get good tickets, and seats on the 50?
