  1. He stumbled right when the ball was snapped. He didn't stand a chance after that. And I've lost all respect for him anyway. The dude was standing tall all game long, not grabbing his hammy, playing really well against Moss...and then, he gives up the touchdown and grabs his hammy right AFTER the touchdown. If Moss didn't catch that ball, I'm 110% sure Revis would've been fine.
  2. I don't think he misses the game. He would be called a coward, and I think his ego is far too big to risk that. He would rather score 60 points and lose.
  3. And NOW Revis grabs his hammy? Please.
  4. I'll consider if you put up a VC hate sig of my choice for two months.
  5. AboveLegit is joining our moderator staff as we gear up for the upcoming season. Smitty, Force, bigdog and AboveLegit will be the global moderators. I may add one more, but the staff will hold a meeting sometime this week to discuss our plans first. I was expecting to cut a moderator (meaning I'll definitely need two, maybe three), but our three are still active, so things are going good. Welcome AL to the staff. He'll be here for a long time.
  6. I have an uncle that has been in and out of jail numerous times, and I also know of a high school classmate that is currently in prison. My uncle talks about how he would rather live in jail right now, how you get to work and make money, get an education, and basically live for free. The guy that I went to school with, he's in prison for murdering a girl, and apparently, he has been telling his friends you can do more with your life in prison than you can living on your own outside of it. So I recommend doing something else. Death penalty? I really don't care. Do something, though...just don't let them enjoy the rest of their lives in prison.
  7. I was actually reluctant answering this because James, Wade and Bosh are all in their primes. Problem is, I don't think that trio is anything like Kobe and Shaq in their primes. I can't see Bosh dominating in the post like Shaq, can't see James or Wade pulling off a career like Bryant's (sustaining the numbers, playing through injuries, having that skill set).
  8. They should also be appearing in the footers. I have options for headers, in posts, footers and sidebar. Putting them in posts and in headers is not an option, at least not for me. I would hate that.
  9. Probably not, haha...just going to mess around and see what comes out of them. And by the way, guys, the site will stay up no matter what. The ads will just help with hosting and the updates. I don't have any plans on selling the site, merging with anyone else, or shutting it down...never. I'd just rather do this, than accept donations. Just not my thing...and to be honest, I would actually take these sidebar ads down if most of you thought they were too much of a distraction.
  10. You'll see ads in the sidebar pretty soon. No pop-ups, ever (those were the ads I absolutely hate and will never put up), and no highlighted/underlined ad links in the post (can't stand that, either). I know you guys were asking about donations, but I can't take money from you. I won't accept it. You shouldn't have to pay to talk basketball, so you won't. If the ads do help pay for the hosting and software updates, and there's money left over, it will go to prizes for games we have in the future. Could help draw interest when we do hold contests and such.
  11. Bigs actually shoot poorly, for the most part, because they have insanely large hands. As most of us have found out, either by shooting "paper basketballs" or anything similar to those in size, it's much harder to make a basket with something smaller. Bigger hands don't exactly mean the basketball is smaller, but it gives that player the feeling they are shooting a softball, instead of a basketball. Hard to explain, really...but to the point: Rondo's hands are large. They don't even match his body, really. He's a weird guy.
  12. The best thing is to just bring Arroyo off the bench. He'd be more effective in a bench role, handling the ball more and attacking the basket.
  13. Rondo isn't that much of a reach, but I wouldn't consider him in the same breath as other points, like Kidd and Nash. His IQ is up there, though.
  14. Other than those you mentioned, Tim Duncan has a very high basketball IQ. Gasol is up there, somewhere. I know some will think I'm kidding, but Luke Walton is a candidate as well. Too bad he's not a better player, or healthy enough to be a good role player.
  15. Use AIM. We don't delete posts, and I'm not going to close topics I find valuable to the forums just because a couple of members continue to go at each other. And spammers who only care about posting their blog links? You can post videos in your About Me section. I'm not going to allow video uploads, because I don't have the server space for that. Status updates have been around longer than you were registered here, so how do you know if OTR was better? Never going to happen.
  16. I found this in the Chiefs/Browns game topic... So here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to merge your "Michael Jordan" account with your two other accounts (TytheSportsGuy -- the spammer -- and the new Truth_is_the_Standard account you created), and then I'm going to tell you that you're suspended for 30 days, for multiple accounts (you should be banned). If I were moderating your posts, and it was something against you (like, you know, spamming your articles and blog without discussing them), you would be pretty pissed off, saying I am too strict. So I'll show you how things are done, if that's what you really want. See you in 30, just in time for the NBA season.
  17. I'm just not sure if Pierce can carry a load like Granger or Wallace, at this point. Wallace hasn't proven he can average 25-30 points, but he's dropping 20's and playing the best defense on the team. Granger can average 25+ on a less-talented team, primary scoring option. I think Pierce would struggle if he was asked to do the things he did back in the early part of the decade.
  18. Thanks. Very difficult to round out the five after adding Melo. I seriously sat there for almost an hour, changing it up...and finally settled, haha.
  19. By the way, I would appreciate it if you guys helped me out and tweeted the article (using the Tweet button on the blog). No biggie if you don't, though.
  20. I realized I never finished these...so I better get on it. View the rest here: http://www.alldaynba.com/nbageneral/nbas-fab-five-small-forwards
  21. Fun to say you were signed by the Lakers. Not fun when people bring up how bad you ended up being in camp.
  22. I just don't see why Houston wants to bring in Dampier OR Fesenko, when they have one of the best defensive centers in the league in Chuck Hayes. Even though both are legit bigs, I would still trust Hayes against any other big man in the league over those guys.
  23. You say he had 2-3 seasons without Shaq or Gasol to drive and score efficiently...then you say he was doubled and tripled, almost as much as O'Neal, for 2-3 seasons (and I know which seasons you're talking about). Think about that. How is the obvious a cop-out? Why was Kobe playing so much in the post when Bynum or Gasol was injured, but moved right out of it when both returned to the lineup? He was shooting better than 48% with just Drew in the five this season (when Gasol missed the first 11 games), and that was against more doubles than he saw for the rest of the regular season. Was shooting 49-50% for the first 30 or so games of the year, right before the finger re-injury. Yeah, Bryant never did get to the rim like LeBron or Jordan. No reason to kick dirt in his face, though, because when Kobe didn't have a primed post presence (two post players currently), he didn't have a legit second scoring option OR any shooters. No Kukoc, Kerr, Paxson, Armstrong, Williams, West, Jones, Gibson, Ilgauskas, Parker, Szczerbiak, Pavlovic...ALL guys that were teammates of Jordan or James and were knocking down threes at 40% or better while playing alongside those guys. Shooters spread the floor, opening up lanes, turning collapsing defenses stationary. One of the most valuable players a superstar can have as a teammate. Who were Bryant's three-point shooting teammates (40% or better) in those three seasons without a post presence? Brian Cook, who couldn't play over 15-20 minutes a game because he was so pathetic. And...that's it. Efficiency isn't that big of a deal, or else people would still be questioning why Kareem wasn't shooting 58-60% every season, why Gasol shot under 54% for a big last year, why Hakeem NEVER shot 54% in a single season, and why all three of the players I mentioned have two or more championships because of their contributions. Dwight Howard is more efficient than all of the above. Career-wise, he's almost up to par with Shaq. Doesn't mean much, though...because his offensive game is nowhere near the level of Yao Ming's, who is also having trouble posting 55% from the field, a career average of under 53%. Efficiency is overrated.
