Raja says the Heat are out of the question, LA is the only team left. Says nobody can stop Kobe... Bring him here. -
Cavs sign Kyle Lowry to offer sheet
Real Deal replied to Dash's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
Not sure, but you have pieces to trade. Felton just found his way to New York for $7 million a year. He was there. Houston could've given him that 4 years, MLE and he would've probably considered, at least. If he wanted more, sign and trade. Just one person, though. It's just too much for Lowry. -
Cavs sign Kyle Lowry to offer sheet
Real Deal replied to Dash's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
I never said he wasn't worth keeping, but he's not worth OVER the MLE every season. That $24 million is about $8 million too much. -
Haha, the Lakers fans spammed the hell out of McGrady's Twitter account, telling him how bad they want him to win a ring and all. So yeah...keep it up. There's a good chance it may catch his eye every day, and he'll end up seeing the support he gets from the fans in Jersey more than any other fanbase.

Cavs sign Kyle Lowry to offer sheet

Four years, $24 million? Why would you guys want the Rockets to match that? Lowry isn't worth it. -

Second best. Korver is, hands down, the best shooter in the NBA.

Not that significant, guys. You do realize that Chandler is far from the player he was two years ago, right? Part of that is due to multiple injuries, part of it is due to no Chris Paul.

Damn, I used to have it bookmarked. I believe it was a group discussion board, actually...Google groups? It was archived, supposedly discussion from all the way back in the 80's (don't ask how, I have no idea). Google, Yahoo, MSN group discussion...one of the three. Blah.

Kobe in contact w/ Raja Bell
Real Deal replied to The Regime's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Understatement of the year. Hopefully, Ebanks gets more playing time than Walton by the end of the season (especially with Walton looking more and more like the old version of his dad out there), and Blake starts over Fisher by...February. Hopefully. But you know Phil. -
Are we approaching a decade of "Dream-Teams"?
Real Deal replied to a topic in General NBA Discussion
The difference is, the Lakers have a superstar, and all-star, and a star as their big three. Teams stacking up three superstars, or two superstars and a starting all-star...just not the same. Los Angeles is home to a dominant team. Apples, oranges. -

Source: Jazz in serious talks to acquire Jefferson
Real Deal replied to Newman's topic in Utah Jazz Team Forum
Yep...done deal. -
Well, it was funny, to me, because it was Steinbrenner, and you couldn't expect anything less from him. Those bans were serious and warranted, sure. The controversy when it came to how much involvement he had with the team, things like that...in-house, not off the field (the Nixon and Winfield incidents), that's mainly what I was talking about. I probably should've worded my post better.

Next season's five looks like this: C - Amare Stoudemire PF - Anthony Randolph SF - Danilo Gallinari SG - Wilson Chandler PG - Raymond Felton Not really much of a bench (Douglas, Turiaf), but not much of a roster beyond the five, either. Still needing to sign some guys. Can New York win 40+ games? Do you think they can sneak their way into the East playoffs next season?
-
Both New York and New Jersey can slide into that eighth...just depends on how well they play as a team. I am still convinced the Nets tanked, though. Harris and Lopez, and the role players they had, may not have been able to win 40 games...but they nearly tied the worst record in league history. I'm not a believer. Given the team they have now, and assuming Favors won't be an absolute bust his rookie season, the Nets can be a 40-win team out East...and that's enough to get in. New York? Same thing, with Amare, Felton, Gallinari, Chandler and Randolph. That's not a bad team at all.

Nets Orlando Summer League 2010 Thread
Real Deal replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Ah, didn't see the last game. I had no idea Favors put up 23 and 11. I was actually talking about his fouling problem, though. I think he's just trying to do too much on the defensive end, to show he can play defense on the next level (which has been in question), and it's getting him in trouble. -
Yeah, Steinbrenner was more involved with the team than ever in those first two decades. People were comparing him to Al Davis (pfft). Crazy thing was, those people that he treated badly in the FO...he ended up calling them when they retired, gave them weird positions on the team (assistant scouts, for example), and paid them for the rest of their lives for what they did while they were actually working for him. Basically, it seemed like he took care of those people for putting up with him. So yeah, the controversy was good at the end of the day. Being banned from baseball twice (lol) was funny, firing Martin five times...just some of the things he did, you had to question. However, it influenced others (both players and executives) and encouraged winning, and how success was more important than anything else in professional sports. Also heard on SC that he would meet high school students, and young college kids, just during his time out in the city...and the next day, they would get phone calls, told that they had a full scholarship to the college of their choice (whatever college they were able to get into).

MJ having 2nd thoughts about Raptors trade

Hmm. Well, I hope not starting Favors ends up being a good idea. Some rookies wouldn't swallow that too well (Cousins would be a perfect example). I actually think that, by January, Favors will be moved into the starting five, if not by the time the season stars in November. Could be wrong, for sure...I really can't get a grip on what the Nets want to do this season.

Nets Orlando Summer League 2010 Thread
Real Deal replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
I think Favors has to play smarter. He's trying to make too big of an impact too early, and it's good for some rookies, but he is still raw and needs to get a little bigger. Still...the Nets didn't make a bad decision on him. Doesn't seem that way, at least. -
Update: Fisher re-signs with LA (pg. 3)
Real Deal replied to NJNJ's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Just going to merge all of the Fisher threads. Four of them, first page of the forums index...might as well throw them all together. -
Amen. Good for Haslem. Dude is dedicated to the state of Florida, haha.
