  1. ...lol. OF COURSE! Because the jobs aren't the same. First comment I saw on the page, by the way... LOL. You should move to Kansas, buddy. You'd fit in perfectly around here.
  2. The facts for what? You just said women are being paid less in the White House...and that they should be getting paid as much as the men who are in there. Does the maid count? How much do these women make, and what jobs are we talking about? I mean, if you're going to hit me with your facts...then you better have a reason to. With your comment above, you pretty much had to bail out on what you said, or flip the switch and alter the discussion a little...and that's no surprise to me, let's just be honest here. Give me the man, and the woman, who have the same exact job in the White House...and then give me their annual salaries...or just turn around and walk away, Mittens. It's really that simple, correct?
  3. So the women and men in the White House all have the same exact jobs? If they do, your statement means something. If they don't (and they don't), what's your point? You saw this on TV, huh?

  6. It's not as shocking as those who think a good President would wipe out medical insurance and assistance altogether, and believe that you can just save up your own money and pay for your own medical issues when the time comes.
  7. Anyone see this speech yet? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fR9jMgWq6pc This was amazing, especially the last four minutes (gave me goosebumps). He describes his plan at 12:00, and then goes into Kobe mode in the clutch. Whether you like him or not, agree or disagree with his words, or even believe what he says, that speech (especially those last four minutes) was powerful.
  8. It's funny, because I'm ALWAYS tough on Granger for being the Pacers' primary option...been that way over the years...but to see them play without him drawing defensive attention every play, damn...and I like DG. I'm just highly critical of his play and role. They need him badly, and it doesn't make them contenders (having Granger as their primary scorer means they will never contend, but that's for another discussion), but regardless, they can't even function correctly with him gone. I'm not really down on Paul George for that, because he's developing...but Hibbert just isn't stepping up to the plate and shining. It's his time. It reminds me of that one big game he had against Miami last year (the 19 points, 18 rebounds, 5 blocks game) where it seemed EVERYTHING was coming easy to him, and then he just had to drag himself across the finish line in the last 3-4 games of that series.
  9. Never noticed it before...but that black subtitle bar in the poll looks dumber than Joel Anthony in the triangle offense.
  10. You knew someone was going to ask it here...and the media is already on it. It's early, just three games, but are the Knicks better without Amare?
  11. I'm sorry...but when you're playing Luke Ridnour and JJ Barea, and you're an all-star franchise PG, I don't care how many shots you put up...as long as it's not the third-most on your team. Doesn't matter the number of assists, either. D-Will is a scorer against anyone who can't hold their own when he goes to post them up, and I have no idea why he didn't tear those two up tonight. Both PG's were in foul trouble for Minny, and still...just 12 shots, while Johnson is launching and Lopez is out taking jumpshots. Kind of frustrating to watch, but it was expected...maybe just not against Minnesota.
  12. Also, kind of weird seeing Turner, Young, Holiday and Wright out there at the same time. Maybe if you had Bynum out there with you, but that's just an awkward four, anyway.
  13. Carmelo is living in Brick City right now, but at least he's grabbing more boards than anyone else on the floor.
  14. Which team made the best overall moves this offseason? Lakers. We had three problems entering this upcoming season: Bynum did not want to be here any longer (you could just see it) and his contract was expiring, we didn't have a true point guard and haven't had one since Gary Payton, and our bench was one of the worst in the NBA. To change all of that, we dealt Bynum and traded for Dwight, sign-and-trade for Nash, and brought in Jamison and Meeks. We also re-signed Jordan Hill, who was our energy guy last year. It felt as if we did everything we were supposed to do. Which single-player acquisition will make the biggest impact? James Harden. I'd say Dwight Howard, if we're talking about the Lakers' future, but for this season, it was Harden. Houston needed it. Without the trade, they aren't a playoff team. Harden will be an all-star two-guard someday, more than likely this season if he continues his play, and the Rockets found the scorer and playmaker they were searching for when they traded for him. What will prove to be the most underrated player acquisition? Jason Kidd. I'd say Kyle Lowry here, again, if we're talking about future seasons...but Kidd is the glue guy. He's still a solid defender as well, and he can knock down threes. He's not going to dominate the ball, taking it to the rim and turning it over in traffic, putting up highly-contested shots, etc...and he has the experience, and leadership, that can wrap up a potential ECF for the Knicks. What team will be most improved by the end of 2012-13? Brooklyn Nets. Here, I just decided to go strictly by record. I think the Nets will show the most improvement in the wins column. I almost wanted to say the Knicks, but injuries and chemistry issues were playing big roles against them last year, while this Nets team, despite suffering injuries as well, just didn't have the lineup the Knicks have had. Most surprising move/incident of the offseason? Nash to Los Angeles. Nothing surprised me more, especially considering just how much us Lakers fans despised Nash over the years, and how much he hated the Lakers (even stating so this summer). Harden's trade to Houston didn't shock me THAT much...the trade itself was expected when he didn't get his extension, as talk around the area (consider where I live) was that OKC wanted to move on quickly. I was a bit shocked he landed in Houston, but then again, looking back, I can't really say I could imagine him playing for any team other than OKC, one of the LA teams (where he was born) or in Phoenix (where he went to college)...but it was unlikely that he would have been traded to the Lakers or Clippers.
  15. So will an 82-game season. He's not going to average 40. Earth, for him, is around 25 points a night. That should be where he'll end up. Houston will play better defenses, he will start to feel wear and tear from being a primary scoring option, and their opponents will defend the Rockets much differently after watching tape...so the 24 or so he scored against Portland, that's falling back down to Earth.
  16. If Nash were to buy into that, we would be unstoppable.
  17. Kobe with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists at the half, lol. Dwight is on pace to land a 40-point game. Neither will reach their goals (trip-doub or 40), though, since this game is basically over.
  18. Blame the IPB app, haha. It wouldn't load up posts, and all I had was my post box, so I just replied about the game. Thanks WarrenTwoThaGee.
  19. The Lakers aren't running the Princeton, lol. Guess they decided to just come out and win a game, before the city of LA riots. It is the Pistons, though...but whatever we can get right now.
  20. I realize Durant was being defended well on that last crucial possession (where Russ took the three), but Martin wasn't. Get it to him. He was drilling threes all night long. Westbrook is quickly becoming one of my least favorite players in the league.
  21. Was this delayed? I guess ESPN had the time wrong.
  22. Orlando nearly had four players with 20+ points in this game (Vucevic just two points away from it). Three players alone is impressive, for this team. And yes, Redick is playing very good basketball. Also, look at E'Twaun Moore...these first two have been pretty nice from him.
