Milwaukee Bucks Draft Discussion
Real Deal replied to Jenneral's topic in Milwaukee Bucks Team Forum
Sort of complicated when comparing the two, really (Redd and Henry). Henry has more offensive skills, but Redd will probably be the greater scorer (talking Michael in his prime, of course). Defense? Sure...there's no comparison there. Redd has never defended well. Redd's range and his overall shooting assisted him when he slashed. Players didn't want to give him space to get his shot off, so he took them off the dribble and got to the line, or finished at the rim. Henry will end up being a more complete offensive player, though...but I doubt he makes his way into Redd's territory when it comes to pure scoring. -
We could get it done...Vujacic (expiring) and Walton would do, but Chicago isn't stupid.

Just a few things to keep in mind... 1) When creating topics, be sure to place them in team forums when necessary. There can be duplicate topics for trades (one in each team forum). If it's about a free agent signing, it goes in that particular team forum. We all have been doing it for years though...no biggie. 2) Your general draft discussion goes in those pinned topics in each team forum. However, there will be articles that you can post, and Twitter notifications (ex. Aminu gets a promise from Clippers) that you SHOULD create a new topic for. 3) All topics you create have to have decent titles. You don't have to be too descriptive, but keep in mind that these hit our search engines AND make their way to our Twitter, so do your best. Aminu gets a promise from LA Bucks acquire Maggette from Warriors Lakers show interest in Bosh Those are great examples of topic titles we are looking for. 4) I'm aware that there's an AIM chat for the draft, but I'll also create a draft discussion topic right BEFORE the draft is on, for everyone to post their thoughts in. I would appreciate at least some activity in it. 5) Post your mock drafts in the appropriate sub-forum (you'll see it in the NBA Draft forum). Get them in soon...the draft is Thursday. Thanks for the activity. I hope we pick it up even more after the draft, once teams start dealing players and those big-name free agents begin hunting down contracts.

If Maggette was a shooter, it would be different. We all saw how well (jokes) Brandon Jennings can shoot the ball at times, and Bogut is a post big, so you're asking your three top scorers to play at the rim, two slashers and one post. John Salmons was the perfect ingredient for the Bucks because he wasn't a one-dimensional player for them. He didn't hesitate to shoot the ball. I just don't like it.

Actually, give us a 100% Bynum...sort of changes things. While Pierce would've had his way with Trevor, I think we could've had enough production from Drew to stick with them and win the series. Kobe would eventually switch over to Pierce, and Trevor would be on Ray. We'd lose offensive production from Kobe, but we'd gain it in Drew.
-
Nope. Pierce would've lit Ariza up.

Truth is... Fisher Farmar Brown Vujacic They are all shooting guards in point guard bodies. All four. None of them play like a point guard, and none of them have legit point guard skills. We need a point guard that can make the post-entry pass, knock down shots, and defend. Doesn't have to be at a high level, either...just show those three things, and you're as good as gold to us.
-
I wanted Ariza back, also, until he didn't want to come back. The thing with his agent is BS. These players are adults, and they are the ones paying their agents. They make the final decision. Ariza wanted the lights to himself, and that's what he got. We ended up with a better defensive player to replace him, and it paid off in the end. And yes, I can't really stand Farmar, either. Good for us.
-
Could...I'll have to look into the resources it uses up on the server, though. Operation Sports probably has a dedicated server (aren't they really active?), and right now, I'm paying for a semi-dedicated, so I'm still a bit limited.

Detroit and Houston making major push for #4
Real Deal replied to Dash's topic in Minnesota Timberwolves Team Forum
If the price is "too expensive" for Houston, is there a chance we're talking Yao Ming? I guess you guys are high on Kevin Martin. I think he's a loser, to be honest...would trade him in a heartbeat if it meant getting Cousins or Favors. -
On paper, the Bucks look good. I'm not so sure how that's going to translate into actual teamwork, though. When Maggette isn't getting to the foul line, he's worthless...and to do that, he has to have the ball and create his own shot. And if this was made to replace Salmons, it's not going to work.
-
He'll learn, just as Ariza did. And we'll replace him, just as we did Ariza.

Chris Bosh: "I'm not an addition, I'm the center piece"
Real Deal replied to Poe's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
I would love Bosh in purple and gold, but I don't see anything wrong with his thinking here. That's not me saying I believe he can lead a team to a ring, because I don't think he'd be able to unless he had another 2-3 all-stars by his side, but he's too young to "Gary Payton" his way to an NBA championship. -
Wolves "ecstatic" about Johnson going to Nets...
Real Deal replied to a topic in Minnesota Timberwolves Team Forum
I call BS. If Minny is really looking at Cousins or Favors (because who else would they care about?), that means they are trading Jefferson or Love. Wesley Johnson was their pick. Now he's not. Changes everything. -
LOL...just re-watched that draft on NBATV. The Knicks fans were chanting "LAMPE" like he was their next franchise player.

Should WNBA end and just allow women in the NBA?
Real Deal replied to reno's topic in General NBA Discussion
Good point. Even the weight of the ball would change a woman's range, and her ability to shoot through the course of a full game. -
I would, but I fear massaging over the other bubbles I already have. Funny though...I thought about that yesterday, figured I'd work them out the next time my blood sugar hits the ceiling. Best time to do it, anyway.

Draftexpress: Nets will take Wesley Johnson at #3
Real Deal replied to Dash's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Huge slap in the face to the Wolves. Minnesota was going to take Johnson, and really, the Nets aren't filling a need here. Maybe they feel as if they are taking the best available. OR, maybe they are super confident about snagging Bosh, Amare or Boozer, and there's something we don't know. -
Well, I've had one this year, two last year...but before that, I didn't have a seizure for maybe six or seven years? Just happens when I slip up, or when an insulin bubble breaks (sometimes, injections won't disperse correctly, and insulin stores under my skin, in a bubble, and busts later on).

Detroit and Houston making major push for #4
Real Deal replied to Dash's topic in Minnesota Timberwolves Team Forum
That Coleman comparison is because of his playing ability, though. Coleman was a monster...came out of the gates dropping 20/10 on elite defensive players because he was so physically dominant. We can all point to big men and say they can end up like Oliver Miller...that's easy. If we're just talking about his potential weight gain (meaning, what he COULD gain within 3-4 years), I think we're looking at it the wrong way. People were worried about Andrew Bynum's weight, also, and there's also some big, massive center that nobody could stop in the 90's and 2000's, and he had no problem playing at 355+ pounds. So take that one variable and remove it from the discussion. Cousins is suddenly a freak in the making. Given the fact that he's going to be working with professional trainers and he's actually got enough game to matter in the pros, I think I'd take my chances on him. -

Golden State would take him, though. No owner/GM in their right mind would pass up a chance to pair him with Curry and Biedrins. There's just too much potential there. I wouldn't be surprised if Don Nelson was on his way out after the pick, also...assuming the Warriors would miss out on the postseason again. Plenty of Dallas fans believed he would coach the Mavs forever, but that didn't work out so well despite all of the Mavericks' regular season success. I don't believe ANY hype beyond Wall and Turner, so when I look at Cousins, I see one of the best prospects in the draft among everyone BUT those two. Not saying he's going to be a superstar, but he does have that potential to be an all-star quality player, and no team should disregard that. -
Stephen A. Smith: LeBron Leaning Towards Knicks
Real Deal replied to magicbalala245's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
Haha...just watched the 2003 Draft, and I finished hearing New York fans chanting "overrated" when LeBron was picked by Cleveland. Funny. -

Don't see Houston's motive, really...at least for Cousins. Maybe they see Scola better suited for the bench? Eventually, Cousins will be a better NBA player...could be right off the bat, to be honest, just depends on him keeping that weight off and working like crazy. Detroit is dangling Tayshaun Prince, I'm sure...but Minnesota has no reason to bite. I don't think the Pistons really have anything that interests the Wolves. We all know Minnesota is loaded at the PG position. Maybe Rambis will show interest in Ben Gordon, to add a shooter to the triangle. I don't know. -
Turner is the one you take. A lot of people are high on Favors, but I don't know if you take that risk if you're Philly. This could be one of the Sixers' best chances at getting a superstar out of a draft, and I just think you go with Wall or Turner (and we know where Wall is going).

Thanks guys. It's too damn hard to stay away from the site just a few days from the draft. I just wrapped my finger up, Kobe style (lol), and now it's go time.
