1) Do everything possible to get a defensive-minded point that can knock down shots. Kirk Hinrich. He's the one. Wade is going to Chicago, Hinrich is coming here. Perfect world. 2) Trade Sasha Vujacic. Doesn't matter for what or for who. If we get rid of him, Buss will be more inclined to take on Hinrich's contract (or someone else making $5-10 million a year). 3) Bench Bynum, if we don't trade him. Bring him off the bench with Derek Fisher, Luke Walton, Shannon Brown and Josh Powell in the second unit. Give Bynum the ball, and let him go to work. 4) Teach Bynum how to pass out of the post. 5) Make sure you get the defensive-minded point guard that can shoot the open jumpers.

Kenyon Martin Unsure Of Return This Season
Real Deal replied to The Regime's topic in Denver Nuggets Team Forum
He's your defensive anchor, so you're going to have trouble without him in there. Fast guards get to the rim easier, and versatile bigs can have their way with Nene. Denver needs Martin more than anyone not named Melo and Billups. -
I've had it for about three years now, and it's actually pretty nice...but since Twitter started feeding us all with info, as Phightins pointed out, I've been getting Insider as a month-to-month type of thing, where I pay for the month that I want. Therefore, I can get it for the months of the NBA Draft, the trade deadline, and the NFL Draft. Don't ever use it any other time of the year anymore.

Yeah, we sorta did that last game, and it failed. Gasol has trouble establishing position in the post because he's weak and gets bullied out of the paint. His excuse is supposed to be his hamstring problem, but I don't buy it at all. His lack of physicality has been his problem his entire career. If he gets the ball and can't make a move, he holds it for a while, then kicks it out, looking for someone to bail him out. It's bad practice, and it's something Shaq never had to do.

Best wrestling events ever?

Great American Bash 1989...that's the one with Sting and Muta. -
Well, you were here in 2007. Not saying it's you, just saying that the guy could've been here 3 months ago, for all I know.
-
The members they were talking about were guys that don't post here anymore, and they actually didn't say anything about them that makes me think they even KNOW them, just the usual incoherent comments about their sexual preference and their race. But the guys they were talking about were posting back in 2006 or 2007, so whoever is saying this stuff was a member back then. At least one of them was (if it's not just one person). Either way, I haven't gotten any PM's about it, and nobody really knows anything, so it's probably a waste of time trying to find out who it is. They are probably reading the topic right now, actually, and it's too bad they don't have the sack to get on and say what they want, and let us know who they are. EDIT: Two still post here, three don't.

This has opened my eyes a little, honestly. Like I said earlier, the stuff about the board isn't that big of a deal. We've had that kind of talk forever now. People get mad when they are tossed, so they have to find a way to make it seem like it was my fault, or everyone else's. The personal stuff (what I didn't post from the email) is the bigger problem. It was hard to swallow, some of the things that were said. I also left out two or three quotes that were putting a handful of our members on blast, more on a personal level, actually naming them. I also didn't like that. Ultimately, in the end, I see that the guys that are still here and contributing are those who respect what I've done, and they deserve the respect back from me, which I can only give by keeping OTR up and alive. I've said it so many times before...Aaron, Kyle and I (and the mods over time) have appreciated what you guys have done. Some of you do get carried away, and so do I, but for the most part, we don't have the internal staff troubles (ever), we don't have admins and mods going at each others' throats, and we don't have a huge group of members rebelling against the site (as far as I can tell). We don't reach 1,000 posts a day anymore, but a lot of that has to do with the hack and a group of members shying away from posting, or even re-registering with us. But, I feel like we still have one of the best basketball boards on the net, hands down, when it comes to overall intelligent basketball discussion, and that's all I really want out of the time and money spent.

Combined Fans' Choice for MVP to Count as One Vote on Ballot
Real Deal replied to Teletopez's topic in General NBA Discussion
Pretty good idea, but how many times does the MVP come down to one single vote? With that said, everyone vote for Kevin Durant. -
Jackson, Johnson and Van Gundy would all be good for the Nets. Keep this in mind: at least you're not rumored to get Eddie Jordan or Terry Stots.

Best wrestling events ever?
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in MMA, Wrestling and Boxing Forum
The ones I remember being really good...probably the PPV with Muta and Sting, and Flair fighting Funk. That was back in the day, lol. Then the PPV where Brock took out The Rock, and Shawn Michaels returned. Finally, that Austin/HHH match...the Three Stages of Hell? I'm pretty sure that PPV was good from top to bottom. Sorry that I don't remember the names, haha. -
I'll run one for the playoffs.

Rules: 1) 16 lines max. 2) At least two of those lines must be about your opponent's favorite sports team (basketball, football, etc). 3) Cussing will be censored if you decide to use it. Don't bypass the censor with asterisks or other symbols. 4) If you say Dick Vitale's first name, please censor it yourself by typing [expletive]. In the manner it would be used in this contest, it should be filtered out. NOBODY ELSE POST IN THIS TOPIC UNTIL THE SECOND RAP IS ADDED. After both competitors are finished, members can place their vote. Votes are only valid with an explanation containing three or more sentences, no exceptions. The lower seeds (in terms of position) go first. Based on this match-up, s.t.a.t. will be asked to post his, followed by deestillballin. You have two days to post. Good luck, fellas. Run yo mouth!

Well, that was the entire point of bringing him in, nothing more. I don't think he, or anyone on the team, expected him to average over 12-13 PPG in our offense. However, we are currently in the middle of the NBA in offensive rankings, which is not good. Part of that has to do with us not knocking down threes, part of it our bench production (25th or worse in the league most of the season), and mainly only Bryant and Gasol showing the ability to put up the scoring to win games. Everyone else is inconsistent, can't knock down open shots, can't create for themselves, or are in and out of the lineup with injuries (Bynum, Walton). It'll have to all pull together soon. Second-best in the NBA doesn't mean anything right now, and it's looking more and more like we'll be relying on Bryant to close it out again.

Looks like we have a lot of Sasha Vujacics on this board.
-
How many people have actually watched him this season? He's been an absolute monster on defense, probably top three defensive player in the league. Just because he's not fitting in offensively doesn't mean he's not giving us production. We'll adjust in May/June.
-
About 26 people played it the first week...and by the end of it all, two things happened: 1) Kyle was really busy doing other things on and off the board, and 2) there were only 8-9 people participating in the last two weeks Last year's game, it ended with about 2-3 people playing...so really, there was no point in pushing it further. It was best to cut it off before we played it too deep into the season.

Not really sure. Again, this is just something little. I wanted the Member Teams feature again, but the developer hasn't updated it for the new software, and he probably won't.

Let's say you're trying to get a non-fan interested in wrestling. What three PPV's, in order, would you show him? Basically, I'm looking for the best of all-time, whether it happened yesterday or 20 years ago.

It's just in the new skin.

Yeah, yeah...quality over quantity...but we need quantity as well, and this is something cool because we can relate it to points per game, right? Anyway, just a fun, SMALL addition to the forums. You'll see it to the left, under your avatars and other information.

Bryant is staying in Los Angeles. It's not even a question in anyone's mind, at least among Lakers fans.

If Utah were to lose this game, and Phoenix won theirs, the Jazz would drop to 4th in the standings, one win ahead of the Nuggets. Another loss, and the Jazz would lose home court advantage in the first round. They need to win these games against the non-playoff teams, at the very least.
