  1. What monitor resolutions are you guys using?
  2. If you see any odd blues in the skin, let me know. I created it using the Clear Cut default IPB skin. Hope you guys like it. Team forums will follow, just need some time to rest, haha. EDIT: Boston Celtics team forum - http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/forum/13-3-boston-celtics-team-forum-46-25 And Orlando: http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/forum/33-2-orlando-magic-team-forum-50-22
  3. That's because Finals MVP's are for 4-7 games, and that's it. Who won the last Finals MVP for the Spurs? Tony Parker. Paul Pierce won it for Boston two years ago, but we know why they were champs...and it's more obvious now, because Boston is struggling to stay in contention as Garnett struggles to stay healthy. Finals MVP's are a joke. Shaq ended up with Rik Smits opposing him, and Kobe had Reggie Miller. Shaq took MacCulloch and Collins, Kobe had Kidd and Kittles. Granted Shaq did abuse a DPOY in Mutombo, it was Kobe who had to step up and defend Iverson when Fisher was getting lit, and Iverson was the reigning MVP. That's like Aaron Brooks being defended by a weak point guard all game. He goes off and scores 30. Finals MVP's shouldn't define a player for a full season, let alone through 4-7 games.
  4. This is still on, we're just waiting for... 1) teams to be filled, and 2) Justin to come back from his magnificent vacation
  5. Cheese isn't as bad as what people are making it out to be. It's protein. Cheese doesn't make you fat, it's nourishing to your muscles. Milk, not so bad if it's skim. People don't like skim milk, though...seems like it's too watered-down. Try 2% if you're going to drink it. You still need the Vitamin D, though. I drink three glasses of 2% milk a day.
  6. Text her, just in case she senses you're a bit nervous and asking her for other reasons. Plus, it's so much easier for girls to answer over a text.
  7. Haha, probably the worst book ever. I give advice using past experiences, lol. I did the stuff I told Yama when I was a junior in high school, actually...and it worked on a girl I only knew for about three weeks.
  8. JR Smith comes to mind. He should be shooting 40% or better from downtown, with all the open threes he takes. Daequan Cook as well, although he hasn't played much at all this season.
  9. In his prime, on a team without McHale, Bird probably would've scored 35 a game. Overall playing abilities, one could argue for LeBron...but LeBron is not as great as Bird. I'll say this much: a physically-gifted athlete can slow LeBron down, despite how bad he could be as a player (James White with muscles, for instance). There were very few people that could stop Bird, because he could score from 23 feet away, in the post, attacking the rim, mid-range, off the dribble, off the ball, and against any quick or strong player (or combination of the two), because he was three times smarter than LeBron is today. James has yet to win a championship because the reckless driving to the rim only gets you so far. His game has improved significantly since his rookie season, and somewhat since 2007...but he tends to re-visit what has earned him individual success when the Cavs are in trouble, and as we saw last season against the Magic, and against the Spurs in 2007, it's not going to get it done. LBJ has had very solid TEAMS. They have been excellent, standout defensive teams with players that can score 15 points on any given night. They are filled with guys that can knock down shots, the perfect teammates for James, who loves penetrating and passing. Slaven, you (of all people) should be giving LeBron's teammates more credit. Your favorite all-time player (which I assume is Hakeem) had nearly the same team surrounding him, and he made the best of it by winning two consecutive rings.
  10. See if she wants to see a movie this weekend. Don't exactly let her pick the movie...but let her, you know? Just say you want to see something both of you like, then if she suggests this chick-flick, be like, "Oh wow, yuck...for real?" Then when she says you two can go see something else, just tell her, "Nah, I'm kidding. We can see it." After the movie, that's when you ask her. Someone else could be thinking the same thing right now, and she could be taken before you know it.
  11. Kobe doesn't make his teammates better? I can put that to rest easily by giving improved stats from Smush Parker, Lamar Odom, Trevor Ariza, and many other players. And yeah, the "Kobe was Robin" argument needs to die. In NBA history, there was no other "Robin" who averaged 28 PPG and shot more times than "Batman," let alone ran the offense. When you can find me ONE, I'll reconsider.
  12. Gotta drop that weight, but you have to stay consistent with what you do. One slip-up, and you're going to gain 10+ pounds back before you can lose another pound. Eat three medium-sized meals a day, with a snack in between breakfast/lunch, lunch/dinner, and dinner/sleep. Make sure your snack is protein. Balance carbs with protein. Not exactly by the numbers...but for a carb-loaded item in your meals (say, some sort of pasta), add a protein. Water + crunches + berries. That will lose your stomach. Berries can be strawberries, cranberries, blueberries, etc. More water. Your body needs water more than anything else, and a single bottle won't do. The more water you drink, the better your body can manage the food you eat, and the easier your activity will be on your body. Muscles lose water quickly, and when they do, they shrink. When they shrink, they hurt. When they hurt, you don't want to exercise, and you lose focus. Less caffeine. It drains the water from your muscles. See above. Exercise at least four times a week. Don't be a weekend warrior and do something for five hours on Saturday, then sit the other six days. That's actually bad for your heart. Of course, this is all what I do to stay conditioned, not to necessarily lose weight...but you can apply it to your situation as well.
  13. Go here: http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=usercp Click the forums tab (third over), then uncheck the option to view avatars. There's something going on with your computer or the browser. I have no problems, and I've asked four other people I know (from TLN), and they are fine viewing them as well.
  14. Alright...with a new skin comes new banners. I just want to say that these banners won't be the norm. They'll be a little simple here, graphically-injected there, and a different concept on player placement. I'm going to go big with this skin, and I'm going to try and get it done quicker than I usually do.
  15. Haha, man, Mir didn't stand a chance. Too bad he doesn't get that shot against Lesnar, though. Still would've been fun to see Brock break his face, then stick him in an F5, like he did guys back in the WWF. And, wow...Hardy sucked. The only thing I was impressed with was his rubber arms. At one point, I actually thought I saw him tap (anyone else?), but he stuck it out...figured he was going to pass out, but he rolled out of that armbar. GSP caught his arm really, really good TWICE, and he just laid there. Had it not been for his refusal to the tap-outs, he would've looked like an amateur from the Ultimate Fighter. GSP is just too damn good.
  16. LOL man, it gets so bad. A KU fan had his car drilled with purple paintballs the night KU lost, and there were K-State fans dipping toilet paper in purple dye, then throwing it everywhere and on everything that had to do with a KU fan...cars, their houses, trees in their yard, etc. It was [expletive] up.
  17. YES! Damn man, I HATE K-State. This was probably the best game I've seen all season long, after all of that trash-talking I have had to put up with since KU lost. Every damn day, text messages, AIM messages, Facebook, hearing it from friends I run into, hearing the K-State fans talking about how they are going to win their first championship and shove it down our throats. YES! Butler = awesome.
  18. Would you have another place to post, have to look for another place, or give up on posting on message boards completely?
  19. Not too worried about them, really. Kobe usually drops 30 against them, so it's not that big of a deal. Could be a tough six-game series, though...but we won't lose to them come playoff time.
