  1. Didn't see the trash-talking there. What's refreshing, though, was that Ellis and Curry couldn't come through in the end, just as Kobe pointed out. If this were LeBron James or Dwyane Wade, it would be more meaningful. Anyone other than those two, not so much.
  2. Haha, that was a sick dunk by STAT. Golden State allowed about 240 points again. Pretty fun to watch, but probably miserable for their fans, of course.
  3. Why would they bench Turkoglu (the clear-cut, hands-down leader of this franchise)?
  4. Dudes were boxing Garnett out so easily. He is done as a superstar power forward, outrebounded by five other teammates, eight other players total, and his defense is just shot. Boston will be toast in the second round.
  5. Stupid call to go for the win, unless Durant was taking that shot. When you're at home, and you have your fans backing you, it's best to take it into overtime.
  6. Dallas doesn't need to worry too much about these losses, if other teams don't need to. They are 14-3 since the Butler/Haywood trade. I'd hardly consider a 1-2 record in their last three games a problem if a 2-2 record isn't for another. Slap a 13-game win streak behind that 1-2 record, and suddenly, you have something to smile about if you're a Mavericks fan: being the second best team in the West.
  7. Why is Jack coming off the bench? And damn WEEMS! ...because he is a starter on any championship team! Come on, though. Darko does still have the potential to contribute in those 30 minutes, but he's going to have to accept the lesser role on ANY team he plays for, because if you're going to be a professional athlete, you have to also accept that you may not be up to par with the rest of your competition. If he can gradually step into a starting role through a full NBA season, without being dealt and/or tossed to the side, then that's fine...but his attitude is just garbage right now.
  8. Out with Michael Redd, in with John Salmons!
  9. A win is a win. It was a slow win, nonetheless...one I figured the Magic would pick up by dominating, but whatever works.
  10. Minus Scola, Houston shot 21-68. That's 31%. And even Scola wasn't exactly the best shooter out on the floor, netting just 9-21. Big, big statement for Hinrich's defensive abilities, and Rose's improving defense.
  11. I'm going to go ahead and say it now: I'm not convinced the Heat are a threat to beat any of the top four teams in the East. I wanted to say they could tackle both the Hawks and a hobbled Celtics squad, but I'm just not so sure of it now. It really doesn't have much to do with this game, although this is a small piece of it. The Heat just play scared, and I don't know if they have the goods to get it done in late April.
  12. Tough night for the Kings. They all struggle to find ways to score without Evans taking the load off a bit. The Grizzlies' big fourth won this game. They played much better in the second half.
  13. He's averaging 15.3 FGA per game, at 37% shooting. John Salmons is taking 14.9 FGA at 45%, and Andrew Bogut is at 13.4 FGA at 52%. The success is coming from Bogut and Salmons, clearly. The two threes that Jennings hits per game doesn't make up for the 10 jumpers he misses.
  14. He does make a couple of valid points for Turner, one that I didn't really see until I watched Ohio State in the tourney. Turner can go left and still be an effective scorer. Most young players have trouble with that. Wall can drive left, but he'll throw a crossover a lot of times, switching to his right, if a good defender is laying on him. Turner doesn't need to operate that way, and that's a good sign. It would still be tough for me not to select Wall with the first overall pick, though.
  15. Man, screw Hardy. That dude was out of line for what he did to Marcus Davis (the homosexual incident), and he's way too cocky jumping into this fight against GSP. I hope Rush breaks his legs. And while I wouldn't mind seeing Mir knocked the F out...I hope he wins, so Lesnar can force him to crawl out of the octagon in their third meeting. Nate Diaz is probably going to take this fight, but I have my doubts about him adding weight. That last fight he was in wasn't that impressive, and I believe his speed kept him alive. Then again, had he had more weight behind his punches, maybe he would've come out on top. Fitch and Alves is a question mark for me. I'd probably take Fitch if I was betting money on it, but if you ask me tomorrow, that would change.
  16. Don't dig too much into that assumption that you'll end up with it just because it runs in your dad's side of the family. It's pretty random. Nobody in my family has had it. I'm the first. Specialists haven't pinpointed how it happens to a person, so while inheriting it seems to be the best answer, it's not THE answer (or at least not the only answer). I will say this much, though: when I was little, I consumed so much damn sugar. I ate cinnamon rolls that my grandfather would bring me every other day, tons of candy, and drank a lot of pop. I ended up getting diabetes when I was 10. Could've sent my pancreas into a permanent sugar shock...who knows. Just something to consider, I guess.
  17. For the record, you had to have missed the Finals if you think Prince defended Kobe that way. Hamilton and Prince both were on Bryant, every second he touched the ball 20+ feet from the rim. It left Devean George open, which was the main reason they did it. They also doubled him just to DENY him the ball, which is something I've never seen in the middle of quarters before. Maybe at the end of games, but never, ever with six minutes to go in the first or second quarter.
  18. Actually, it's Slaven's call, not mine. Many will say he'd chicken out and take the easy win, some will think that's smart. Whatever he wants to do, really.
  19. Well, that was a rumor that many eventually said wasn't exactly true. Plus, even if it was, Bosh is a superstar, and that would make sense for many teams. These types of trade offers for Bynum that may be available this offseason (such as Hinrich and fillers) could be considered. Before, not a chance...but I'm starting to think it's very possible if we get a decent big man back.

  21. If he takes injections, that's how it works. If he takes insulin pills, it's the same concept. Injections, he probably takes the 24-hour long Lantus once a day (some split the dosage into two shots), and he takes a shot with every meal, which varies in dosage (and the pharmacy realizes this and doesn't set a limit on that type of insulin). If he's a Type II Diabetic, he takes pills and MAYBE one shot per day. Most control it with the insulin pills and diet, though. Basically, the government can't decrease your dosage, no matter what, especially with a medication that is necessary for you to live. It won't ever, ever happen.
  22. An athlete's greatness can be separated from his overall abilities. If you want proof of this, pretend like Hakeem Olajuwon has six rings. Who's the greater center then, Shaq or Hakeem? Who is considered the greater center minus the storybook ending for Hakeem? Who is the better overall player?
  23. By the way, this is it for Drew, if he's out for an extended amount of time. The Lakers will more than likely entertain offers for him this offseason.
  24. That would be sick, but it's a reach. Turner can give Ohio State a near triple-double every game, but he has to lead them late in the fourth, and actually come out victorious, if he wants to pull off a Danny Manning. OSU doesn't stand out, talent-wise, like Kentucky does. Syracuse's team is better overall, on both sides of the court. So yeah, in the end, OSU will need Turner playing like Manning did for KU. It's going to be the Turner show or bust.
