Ron Artest admits to drinking during games
Real Deal replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
What WAS wrong with him... -
The Bulls are 6-9 right now, eighth seed in the playoffs. If the Sixers want 40 wins (which will probably get them in, at this rate), they'll need to go 35-29 from this point on. That's a .547 winning percentage, something they haven't accomplished since Iverson played for them in 2003. It's a stretch, just not impossible. And Iverson will average 21 or more if they want to make the playoffs.

Remember that hometown hero article I wrote a while back? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/48499-hometown-hero-mitch-rolls Mitch has started three games for Colgate (out of six). Team is struggling a bit, but he's doing okay...probably not the type of numbers you want as a starter, but given the situation over there (they are 0-6), he's still playing D-1 ball. http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs118.snc3/16543_1293805983665_1185750034_30962958_4894850_n.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/1r2rn6.jpg

:o Thanks for registering. I know you'll contribute a lot here, in all of the team forums.

Shawn Kemp came out of a JUCO, and Stephen Jackson actually went to Butler County CC (which is in Kansas, and my hometown's rivals). But as far as the Lobos go, they have a winning record because they have yet to go on the road, and they've played below-500 teams (with the exception of Louisiana Tech, who hasn't done much either). Granger's first year there, they started the season 7-3, lost plenty of games to end it, including three to UNLV, to Utah, BYU, and two to Air Force, and Granger was a 20/9/2 player with some of the best defense in college basketball. Hobson is the best player on the team, though, easily. I just can't say he'll be a top pick in the draft.

Shouldn't be fighting a war that you can't win to begin with. You can't defeat terrorism. I have no idea why it started, no idea why it's still going on, and that's where most of our money has been wasted this year, last year, and since 2001. Damned if we do, damned if we don't today. If we stay and fight, we continue to spend for a war we'll never win. If we leave, we leave a country in ruins, one that others will blame us for destroying. Go figure.

Wow, so if he plays the next game (excluding tonight), it's against Charlotte (Larry Brown) on Saturday. Then he plays the Nuggets in his Philadelphia homecoming on Monday. Then the Pistons in Philly on Wednesday. LOL. Perfect timing.

Welcome to the best.

Didn't expect this one. Mike sure does know how to run with his old team. It makes me wonder if he's been planning for this game since Phoenix decided to bring back that run and gun play.
-
Wow, no defense by either team. So many open shots... Toronto has to close out on shooters, and Bosh needs to work on his defense badly.

There's no modification for the new board version just yet (Wali asked about this already), but I'll add it when it comes out.

Just noticed that our Alexa ranking is back up to 576,493. About two months ago, we were above 800,000. Keep up the great work, everyone.
-
Depends on how well everyone around him performs, though. If he's the only one scoring the ball, teams will target him, and his percentages will drop. That's the reason he shot lower in Philly.
-
Haha, it was all New Orleans. I'll admit that I was worried the Pats would take it in a close game, but that entire game was domination. There was no little mistakes here or there, no bad calls that would change anything. The Pats didn't stand a chance.

Our online list is set to 30 minutes, and most sites set theirs to 60. You can't really compare us to other sites just by looking at the list of online users. Not saying you are. I just wanted to add that info.

C - Dalembert PF - Brand/Young SF - Iguodala SG - Williams PG - Iverson Bench Young or Brand once Williams returns, stick Iverson at the point, and run with that five. I'd play Williams at the point, but you'd much rather have Iverson defending the smaller, quicker guards. There are too many offensively-injected SG's in the NBA, and Williams is a better defender.

I could create a subforum for other sports articles. I'm just not sure if it would be a good idea to add football writers to the basketball writing staff. Maybe we can discuss this later down the road, possibly at the start of the new year. We could have baseball writers, maybe even some guys who will want to write about the MMA or soccer, so it's not going to be ruled out just yet.

Yeah, I get where they think passing the ball takes a ton of IQ, but Duncan's defensive IQ is far greater than LeBron's, and I would go on to say that his offensive IQ is just as good, if not better.

I'm really, really excited about this.

We have a few guys going around with excuses as to why they left OTR, mainly to our affiliates, which (in their minds) will be a good way to turn people away from us. One of their excuses is that 80-90% of the site is full of Lakers fans. And they'll see the topic here because they still browse OTR, despite leaving or being banned. Really not so happy about guys blasting our community, either. Plus, it's always good to see what teams' fans we need more of.

How many Lakers fans do you think they have? How many Raptors fans? You'd be surprised to know there are tons. So before we start throwing out inaccurate statements about OTR in attempts to shy posters away from the site, let's get our facts straight. I really don't like doing things like this, but sometimes, it needs to be done, to educate those who just don't take the time to lay everything out on the table before opening their mouths. After I finish up the current projects I'm working on, I'll set time aside to recruit. Once that's finished, it'll be hard to take any jabs, at all, about our collection of posters...something I really can't stand anyone doing.

True, but I'd stick Tim Duncan in that list somewhere.

The NBA's "Other" Terrible Team
Real Deal replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in General NBA Discussion
New Jersey will be the one raking in attention because they can be a playoff team in the East, if everyone is healthy. Even with Love on the court, the Wolves will be a bottom team in the league, so while there's no jaw-dropping going on in Minnesota, you can't say the same for the Nets. -
Not everyone shot the ball well. Jennings was terrible once again.
