  1. I don't even see why the Kings would be stupid enough to make this deal in the first place. They lose an expiring in Thomas and a halfway decent player in Nocioni, to get Giddens (who has done nothing in his short career) and Dalembert, a toxic contract and a player who rarely wants to play like a big man. You have Tyreke, Martin, Thompson and Hawes. Build around that. The more I think about it, the less I think this will happen. I don't think this franchise is that ignorant.
  2. It's fine. Hopefully, they'll have to go through the Heat, Hawks and Magic to get to the Finals.
  3. On paper, the Celtics should be able to win every single game for the rest of the season. Ray Allen Paul Pierce Rajon Rondo Kendrick Perkins Rasheed Wallace Marquis Daniels Kevin Garnett Andres Nocioni Lester Hudson Brroeaihtgioh.
  4. What have the Sixers done without Iverson? They are on the ropes again. Before Iverson, Philly hadn't had a 50-game season since 1989 or 1990. After him? They haven't won over 41 games. What Denver team mutilated themselves for Iverson? I hope you're not talking about the 2008 Nuggets. Melo: 25.7 PPG on 49.2% FG Martin: 12.4 PPG on 53.8% FG Smith: 12.3 PPG on 46.1% FG Kleiza: 11.1 PPG on 47.2% FG Camby: 9.1 PPG on 45% FG Carter: 7.8 PPG on 45.8% FG Najera: 5.9 PPG on 47.3% FG Nene played 16 games. Chris Andersen played zero. Iverson led that team in points, steals, assists, lack of personal fouls (over 15 min of play), minutes played, free throw attempts, free throw percentage (more than 25 games played), played and started all 82 games, and won 50 games that year for Denver. The team shot very well with him. Didn't look like his selfishness led to poor shot distribution, and Melo still put up his numbers. Iverson's statline? 26.4 PPG on 45.8% FG, 34.5% 3PT, 80.9% FT, 3.0 RPG, 7.1 APG, 2.0 SPG, 3.0 TO, 41.8 MPG Denver was ranked 10th defensively with Iverson on the roster, and ranked 8th last season without him. The team shot 47% from the floor last season, and shot 47% the season before (with Iverson). They allowed 44% shooting last year, 45.7% shooting the year before, not much of a difference when you factor out Camby's overrated defense, the team not having Birdman, and not having Jones or Afflalo playing defense. If the Nuggets had Nene, Birdman, and had met anyone other than the Lakers in the first round, they would've reached the conference finals.
  5. Their FG% is so good as a team because Kobe is shooting nearly 50%, and Bynum is at 60%. That's most of the team's shots, really. Josh Powell is at 55+ (can't give you the exact number), and Shannon Brown is around that number, also...but most of their shots are coming from a very efficient Bynum and Kobe. eFG% against is just another one of those weird stats I hate using. Boston is 9th in the league in allowed FG%, Cleveland at 12th, Houston is 17th, Magic at 18th. On the other hand, Detroit and Dallas are 4th and 5th, respectively. Just doesn't make much sense. Most of that is from one or two very good defensive players. Kobe and Artest are defending very well (and Shannon Brown), but everyone else on the Lakers has no idea what defense means. I'm sure +/- and eFG% allowed won't tell you the same for individual players (because +/- stats for Battier have shrugged him off as a good defender so many times already), but that's what happens looking at the stats. If we keep this up, though, we won't grab that top seed in the West, and none of this matters anymore. We need Gasol back as soon as possible.
  6. He knows this is it, just as it was for Diesel. He also knows that both Aaron and Justin will want to ban him, and Justin usually gets to these before I do anyways. If I had members that would make up for the 1500 posts, he would've already been gone for good. But, again, this is it. I'm to the point where I don't care anymore. I've shown it with a dedicated member already, and I'll be happy to put it on display again. In addition, there's a report button for these posts. I don't want it abused, obviously...but it would be nice for the button to be used every once in a while, for important things the staff needs to look into.
  7. Send Ellis and a filler to the Sixers for Elton Brand. There's no chance you will be able to trade Maggette, though. He's signed up until 2013, finishing at almost $11 million a year.
  8. Sure, but there are JTV pages that get around 100-300 people chatting at once (and if you're female, 600+). Running a game similar to ATH would be impossible for anything over 10 people, I would imagine.
  9. Yeah, that's a bit odd, because even when Allen and Shard were carrying the load for that 50+ win Sonics team, the attendance was down, and the excitement just wasn't there. I think everyone lost a piece of their Sonics when Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton took off.
  10. Blah. Not a good sign for the Warriors. You can suit up eight, but you can't play just seven unless you expect to get crushed.
  11. JTV would be great for us. I'm just not sure how great of an impact it would make as far as luring our guys over to the site...yet, it would make for a great recruiting tool. I think it would be best to use JTV to broadcast games, flashing our link on the main page, or something. An NBA trivia challenge would be cool, but you'd have to rack up tons of questions to ask beforehand, and it would be a "who can use Google the fastest" challenge, overall. The problem I have with it...is that I can't run it. I have a ton on my plate already. If someone else can get it done, I'll stick you on as a staff member (as I've done with Wali and Andre)...but there has to be proof that this works.
  12. Duncan, because I trust his leadership more, and I'd rather have the ball in his hands (or, him defending the person with the ball in theirs) at the end of a game.
  13. How the hell did Jackson play this game? That's hilarious. "Play him NOW!" - Larry Brown
  14. I think the bigger picture is the attendance. What are the numbers, anyways? I'd be more concerned about Memphis keeping their team than anything else. Memphis and Sacramento have been the two cities one would be curious about in regards to losing their franchises, and even getting Durant didn't help the Seattle Supersonics.
  15. Just to list something nobody else has yet...rebounding, since we were killed on the glass by the Rockets, who are one of the smaller teams in the league. Also, Gasol helps spread the floor by being a willing passer, which will assist our guys in their shooting percentages. Check them out so far... Artest - .427 Odom - .433 Fisher - .333 Farmar - .333 Walton - .424 Mbenga - .407 Vujacic - .360 Morrison - .429 How are we 7-3?
  16. That's 10 days. The next racist comment, and I'm going to let Aaron and Justin decide if you ever post here again.
  17. I'm guessing you are? Yeah, I mean...I'm sure there are a lot of Seattle fans disappointed, especially at the way things turned out. My problem with that is the fact that MOST of the fans in Seattle have to hang that on themselves. Attendance dropped quite a bit, and despite getting Durant, nothing really ever improved. The city set their roadblocks as well. Oklahoma City was the best suitor for an NBA team. Having to go there at least every month or two, I can see how well they are taking it in, and OKC is expanding QUICKLY. I haven't seen an area expand that fast, and I'd say from Tulsa to Oklahoma City, they are doing very, very well. Tulsa just snagged a WNBA team, in fact...and about two years ago, having that happen would be pretty unlikely. Moving these teams to the middle of the country is only promoting the league better. Seattle wasn't taking the Sonics in with open arms anymore, and I ran across many people a few years back that said they were sick and tired of watching basketball. That's pretty bad, to say the least. But there's going to be a team waiting in the wings for Seattle...I just can't say it'll be soon, though. And Vancouver? I'm not sure that's going to happen. I could see Kansas City raking in a team before Vancouver, and Vegas has a good shot at one, also, if Stern isn't too worried about the gambling.
  18. I bet they were excited for that win against Boston the other day, then.
  19. Hey bro, for future reference, I wouldn't use BTA links to articles that are written by anyone outside of BTA. We figured we'd do something like that a LONG time ago, and we were contacted by Yahoo when we did it with their stories, and again by some NBA.com guy using their articles about two years ago. RealGM has agreements with their sources, and I believe they also don't supply others with links to RealGM, either...could be a big problem you'll run into if caught. Not only that, but posting full articles is a big no-no, link provided or not. I wish I still had the post that was made about it on the old OTR, where I quoted the Yahoo guy (and it was an official Yahoo support email addy, too). Just putting that out there for ya, and also reminding our members not to post full articles.
  20. I already stated that they should look into it, but I guess it wasn't the popular decision to run with at that time. Haha, I think I did it again just recently, in fact. I'm aware that Williams is playing well, but play the two together on the floor, move Iggy to the small forward slot and play Young off the bench. That should give him a bigger role, as the leader of the second unit, and it's one step towards giving him starter quality time on the floor, because right now, he's struggling with his shot.
  21. Leaving the topic shortly...all of you Raptors fans have been doing a great job posting. I'm really impressed, guys.
  22. ...with him off the bench. I think you guys can win games with him in the five, Conley off the bench. I think Conley is in the same situation as most borderline starting point guards, where he'll be much better as a sixth man in a second unit. But that's just how I feel about the entire situation. Iverson doesn't have to be your franchise point, but if you wanted to win games and have a shot at the playoffs (long reach), then he'd be the one to start.
