Great loss by the Raiders. Here we come, class of 2010!
-
A better defender? Yes. And he's also a better offensive player, overall...just not the better scorer.

Bynum is our first option now?
Real Deal replied to kingfish's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Kobe has had two bad games in a row. He had about 6-7 of them, in a row, last season. That was the season we won the championship, and he won Finals MVP. -
Kobe hurt himself in the game against Phoenix, came into Denver and sucked, played this game and sucked. Funny that he dropped 41 on Ariza and Battier about 11 days ago, 50% shooting, and it was Ariza who, again, shot terribly from the field.
-
Yeah, he's definitely not trying out there. He never has bad games when he tries. He's always healthy, too. If he tried every game, he'd average 50 PPG on 60% shooting.

You didn't do anything wrong.

Bynum is our first option now?
Real Deal replied to kingfish's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Yeah, Bynum scored 40 points three times already this season, and he's averaging 23.5 shots per game. -
It's so [expletive] annoying when idiots come into the game topics we lose in, just to mouth something off about a game they aren't even watching. I would do the same for their team, but it would have to be 50+ games. Second consecutive loss, but oh well. Don't even care to talk about the game. I'm just sick of point guards abusing us, and sick of Fisher sucking on offense as well, and Odom never showing up on either side of the court. Basically, when Kobe plays bad, we lose...and that's not a championship team.

Jennings Scores 55 in Win Over Warriors
Real Deal replied to Sun Tzu's topic in Milwaukee Bucks Team Forum
No, I SWEAR I said this yesterday to my brother, haha. Man, I wish I would've posted what I said. I came in and told Terry that he needs to get back into basketball, because there's an Iverson clone in the league. He said he didn't care, and I was like, "Yeah, well you'll care when he drops 50 soon." He's my favorite rook. Griffin would be right there with him in that sentence, but there's no doubt Jennings will keep this 20 a game up and get ROY. -
Can someone please create the poll? I've got about 500 million viruses on the computer I'm using right now (I'm out of town), and I'm having trouble removing them AND posting. When you select the poll options, you can add IMG tags, placing the images in each poll option. Just do it as if you were placing pictures in a post. It should work. Thanks.

Redd not playing is a great thing for the Bucks, haha. They are more likely to win a championship with him out than they are to get into the playoffs with him in the lineup.

High Flying Hawks off to a fast start
Real Deal replied to Carmelamare's topic in Atlanta Hawks Team Forum
Don't get too excited. Atlanta started the season 6-0 last year, lost four in a row after that, and I believe they actually beat the Magic on the road in their opener, and they ALMOST beat the Celtics in Boston in their first loss of the season (lost by one). I can't say they are much different from last season. I know what Crawford is giving them, but I'll reserve calling them a contender until we dive into the season a bit deeper. I mean, Atlanta had a seven-game winning streak last March, so they were looking good...but inconsistency kills. -
Is anyone seriously considering these teams contenders?
Real Deal replied to Check my Stats's topic in General NBA Discussion
Atlanta, Miami, and also Washington, Detroit, Toronto, Chicago or any other team in the East would not take out the Celtics, Magic or Cavaliers in a seven-game ECF. Not a chance. -
Ty Lawson Slams It All Over Mbenga
Real Deal replied to Sun Tzu's topic in NBA and College Basketball Media
Notice two things: 1) Mbenga practically clotheslines him trying to block the shot, and 2) Mbenga is seven feet tall, and Lawson is said to be 5'11" So yeah, pretty amazing. He got up in the air quick...dude has hops. -
LeBron changing his number?
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
Why didn't you quote the first person that brought up Bryant, instead of a Lakers fan? And BFT, it's not baiting. It's a good point. I don't see anything wrong with changing the number. AND...I also think he slipped and made a mistake by saying that if he can't wear it, nobody should be able to. I think he wanted to twist that in a different way, but it just came out wrong...just to say that the players should follow his lead. -
I just hope our server holds up until we're all baked by the sun. I just hate when members have to deal with connection errors.

Henry is for real. I'm really glad we got him. I know it was against Hofstra, but you can tell he's going to fit in nicely.
-
Nobody watched this game? CP3 went down, messed up his ankle, and didn't return. He's doubtful for the next game. The Hornets are looking worse and worse.
-
Damn, that needs to be edited for consoles, not the PC.

Probably the worst 24 minutes I've ever seen of the Lakers to end the game. Turnovers killed us. Denver doubled the hell out of Bryant, and there wasn't a single player that could capitalize on that other than Bynum. Fisher sucked, Odom's statsheet doesn't tell you just how bad he played, Artest couldn't stay in the game long enough to matter, Powell was in Ron's boat, Walton forgot how to pass the ball, and Shannon Brown was throwing up bricks. Excellent defensive effort by Afflalo. Won't happen again, but he defended Kobe very well tonight, forcing him to a 2-10 shooting display (just against him). It was actually getting hilarious watching Walton defend Melo, and I don't know how many times Artest was screened off of him. Odom is a pathetic defensive player, and I'm not buying his "back injury" he is supposedly playing with, because he has no problem slashing to the rim and finishing with a layup, but he'll launch threes and not even jump to contest shots on defense? Monster game by Bynum, monster dunk by Lawson. Smith would be nothing without Melo...every shot he makes is wide open. Didn't see much from Billups at all...but Chauncey has been pretty quiet for a while now. Trashy game by LA. Great game by the Nuggets. It was bound to happen sometime, and it's not like it didn't happen against worse teams during last season's championship run, so I'm not too concerned.
-
Haha, bad shooting, but he actually played well everywhere else. Funny. I figured he was going to put his foot in his mouth.
-
Odom is choking on defense. Does he EVER contest a shot? Damn man. And we need to get the ball inside more, to Kobe in the post, and down low to Bynum. Ron is playing decent defense, but it's Melo...tough to defend, no matter who you are. I just think Artest needs to attack the rim more, and dish it off to Bynum or Lamar. Work more in the post, and defend the damn perimeter, and we win the game. Denver is a one-trick pony against us, but we're letting them perform the same trick over and over again.

LeBron changing his number?
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
I'm not for or against it...but none of the players you named had a better overall game than Michael. Each of them had a weakness or two, and there was no glaring weakness with Jordan after 1992. -
Scream "OTRBasketball.com" really loud, so everyone can hear you. Sucks that I won't be able to watch the game, though. I'll be at my parents' house tonight, out of town, and that means no League Pass.

K-Mart has been struggling, and Billups doesn't even play the same anymore. I wonder how much Martin will have to defend Kobe in the post. That's going to be a huge issue for Denver, as it'll mismatch Afflalo with either Odom or Artest, and Kobe could post up on K-Mart just a bit away from the rim, enough to where he can't recover for those rebounds, and Bynum will eat Nene alive on the glass, along with Odom. Denver is going to have to do something about Bryant.
