It's just not the right system for him. I just don't see the Sixers playing a half-court game where they dump it off to Brand every time in the post. They need to run and get open jumpers. Iggy just isn't the right teammate for Brand (and vice-versa). They need to be split up.

Make it 30 days, not three.

Better careers? Probably not. But just be thankful you made those decisions to deal them, because Portland won by a landslide. I just can't say that Foye and Thomas would've had better careers mainly because Aldridge feeds off of Roy, and I think the same would be said for those two. Thing is, using the situation you presented, Roy wouldn't be in Portland, and they would've been in the same boat together, really.

They decided to show it on ESPN just now, lol...said that's why they are 0-8 now.

LOL...yep.

Should there be a foul out rule in the NBA?
Real Deal replied to AboveLegit's topic in General NBA Discussion
That's not the point. In the NBA, fouls can be good. If someone wants to foul Shaq every single time he gets the ball, they'd be able to, and his team would be forced to score single points, on free throws, as long as they have him in the game. I'm sure when Shaq tries to get his 20+ against Dwight Howard in the playoffs, the Cavs would be irate if Howard was allowed to foul him the 20+ times he gets ready to shoot the ball, a very easy way to build a 10+ point lead on a team early, wearing Shaq down as well, and increasing the risk of injuries as the rate at which teams foul increases. The idea of a sport is to try not to foul. In the NBA, fouls can benefit your team. What "foul" in the NFL helps you? Therefore, you put a limit on each player. Otherwise, you change the game, dramatically, and definitely not for the better. Basketball is a sport, not sports entertainment. I don't care if Dwight Howard is in the game for 48 minutes, or five minutes. -
Wow man, Dalembert is awesomely bad. If I were a GM and he was on my team, I'd waive him and just pay him the money, just to get rid of him. More wins and tickets sold, you can afford his millions eventually.

Should there be a foul out rule in the NBA?
Real Deal replied to AboveLegit's topic in General NBA Discussion
Why would he compare a holding penalty to an NBA foul? In the NBA, a foul can be good, if someone is about to rip the rim off the glass. Fouling Shaq and sending him to the line for 50% shooting is good. In the NFL, a penalty will lose 5-15 yards. You hold, personal foul, pass interference, grounding, whatever...there's nothing positive about them, at all. He's wrong. Basketball (NBA, college and HS) needs the foul-out rule. -
Wow, Chicago's shots just...stopped falling. Credit Toronto for getting in their faces on a lot of them, though...but even open jumpers were rimming out. Good win by the Raptors. They didn't allow over 90, haha.

Nah, he's fitting passes into tight spots (some that he shouldn't be), and some of the guys aren't handling passes well, either. Just a collective effort, really.

How the hell do you not call an offensive foul on that?
-
LOL, to put some light at the end of the tunnel, Gibson is a decent player with loads of potential. He shouldn't be dropping that many points yet, though, but with some rooks, you really don't know what you'll get. Bosh needs to step up his game, both sides of the ball...and I have this gut feeling that Rose is just toying with Calderon, preserving his energy for the fourth.

Iverson spent his entire career in Philly, with no help. He made them much better than they would've been without him. And it was Melo who choked in the playoffs, not Iverson. In fact, Iverson did well against the Lakers, while Melo played inconsistent on the offensive end, and let Luke Walton average 16/5/5 against him. I wouldn't say Iverson killed the Pistons, either, seeing the record they had when they actually started him with the right players (Stuckey, Amir, Sheed and Prince). And as far as Memphis goes...well, they suck anyways. They are a terrible team. Iverson has put up two very solid games for them off the bench, one very good game, and yet they still go with Conley, who has been struggling finding his shot and having problems keeping the ball in his hands. Give Iverson a load of defensive-minded players, he gets to the Finals. Give him Melo, and he wins 50 games and has to play the eventual West champs in the first round. Give him a dysfunctional team with no coaching whatsoever? Well, then it's time to point fingers at Iverson, I guess.

Toronto Raptors On Pace For Historic Season
Real Deal replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
Well, they play at a fast pace, which explains the offensive and defensive spike. The more you score, the more teams will score, most of the time. But, 40 games in, take a look at where they are at. I'm sure they will slow down, which will drop their offensive production, which in turn will drop their allowed PPG. -

It's not that weird. Like I said, most athletes are content with their game for their entire career. Some, like Bryant, work all the time. Allen Iverson has been a slasher since draft day, and he still is. The day that he completely loses that speed that I believe he still has, he'll probably retire, instead of working on his jumpers. I could talk about how I fixed my jumper after I messed my ankle up, stopped driving to the rim so much for the fear of doing it again...but I was still pretty young. When you get 30-35 years old, playing basketball for over a decade, you start to accept things easier. You accept pain in your knees and everywhere else, among other things...and that's just how things are.

Utah is so inconsistent, you really don't know how bad this loss will be for them. Rondo's defense will be put to work, though, having to defend Williams. I'm just not as positive knowing that Boozer, Okur and Brewer will be up against the likes of Pierce, Garnett, Allen and Sheed, even though the Okur/Sheed match-up is quite interesting, seeing how both love to run out and hit a three. That leaves people guessing how big of a night Perkins will have, though, because Boozer and Okur sure the hell won't defend him properly. Maybe Millsap?

This could be a great game to watch. Toronto has been struggling defensively, and the Bulls are beating (or almost beating) some of the league's contenders. Rose had a good scoring night against Billups, so I can only wonder what he's going to do to Calderon...and we also saw Noah eat up the glass, and the Raptors are currently 26th in total rebounds, while the Bulls should be hanging out with the top 15 of the league. Watching the Raptors choke in the fourth, and seeing how they have tons of trouble defending most spots on the floor, I can't give them the win here, despite it being a back-to-back for the Bulls.

I expect the Pacers to pull out a win here. Even though the Warriors scored about 500 points their last game, I'd be shocked to see it tonight. The Pacers can be really tough against teams coming off solid wins or good winning streaks, and I think the Warriors are probably going to be proud of what they did last game, coming into this one thinking they can do it again. Plus, I'm wondering when the Jackson distraction (you like that?) is going to be in full effect. That could explain Golden State's record so far, or at least have a hand in it.

Report: Raiders want to fire coach Tom Cable
Real Deal replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in AFC Conference Discussion
I second that. And Shanahan will never be associated with Al Davis again. That ran its course and blew up. Gruden would've already sat Russell, and he'd be calling his own plays, no matter what Davis wanted. -
Nah, Iverson wouldn't come off the bench. If he plays in Cleveland, he starts at the two, and they've been needing a two-guard for a while now. Not sure how he's going to fit in with Shaq, though, because now you'd have two slashers in Iverson and LeBron, moving Shaq out of the paint on every play. I guess you'd have to play AI and Bron on opposing sides of the floor, and that makes Mo Williams an all-shooting point.

Westbrook is really starting to get on my nerves. He missed a very, very easy shot down four (I believe it was four), which would've changed the way the Thunder ended the game. Missed shots all game, in fact. Lucky for the Thunder, Durant had that three to bring it to within one, then a foul and down three. Durant missed the game-tying shot, though...tough break.

Teammates Ready To See Jackson Traded
Real Deal replied to Legacy's topic in Golden State Warriors Team Forum
Haha, I'm more interested to see who they are going to trade him to. I'm not interested in the two players simply because I'm sure everyone on the team shares the same opinion about him. -

I like him there. He stretches the offense a bit, because he can pull away from the rim and hit 18-footers. It forces teams to play small with the Thunder, which is how they are winning games. Green should actually be playing small forward, but he causes so many mismatches, it gives Durant a chance to score with one man on him, and back on defense, Green is a pretty solid defender that can hold his own against the larger power forwards in the league.
