  1. 1) Make sure you know at least one or two people where you're going. You don't have to share your dorm with them, or rent an apartment with them...but just make sure they are around, just in case you need anything. You don't want to go to a college packed with all of your best friends, because they will drag you away from studying...but you don't want to be a complete stranger, as many will feel that way for quite some time, no matter how well you get along with others. 2) If money is a problem, find a college in a medium-sized city. In the biggest cities, you'll find everything is too expensive, and you'll be driving a lot. In smaller cities, there are less jobs. Go with the middle man. 3) Make sure the college is best for your intended major. That's one of the biggest mistakes many people make: they go somewhere that really doesn't offer them what they are looking for, and they end up transferring, or sometimes just quitting. Don't listen to your friends, though, because they want you to be where they are. Just do what is best for you, because it's not high school anymore.
  2. My uncle broke his a long time ago, took two months to heal, but it was a bad break. Hairline fracture could be half of that, maybe six weeks? Depends on how bad it is.
  3. He's actually doing really good. He's still a bit lost moving without the ball sometimes, but he does set screens well, and he's still working on that shot, as unorthodox as it looks. As far as that shot goes, they called it good on the floor. If they say there's not enough visible proof that it was or wasn't good (that was their statement), they shouldn't overturn the call.
  4. WOW, they said it wasn't good. Terrible call.
  5. How is nobody watching this game? :o Bulls down one, 0.3 seconds on the clock (no time for anything but a quick tap-shot lol), and Brad Miller catches and shoots it, releases the ball RIGHT WHEN the clock hits zero, and nails a 20-footer.
  6. It's in Sacramento, so it could be tough for the Thunder. I'm watching this one. Since I moved out of Coffeyville, I've been getting every Thunder game on local TV. Pretty awesome.
  7. Many superstars don't change their game throughout their career. I'm thankful Kobe is able to go into the post and still get 30, draw doubles and still be that dangerous player. Hate to say the name again, but it's the same thing Jordan did after the first three-peat.
  8. The hacker part was to get the truth out. Otherwise, this wouldn't have been a serious issue for the board as a whole, although I still consider it one. It took less than one day to figure out what happened. I hope people take a mental note of this. Basically, we have a clown or two on the forums that decided to get with a non-OTR member, have them register and post trash under a real person's name (Mike Pittel). I'm not going to name the people involved, although it certainly isn't difficult to figure out one or two of them (I already said their names to two of my mods last night, in fact), but I'll say this much: don't ever get on that personal level with me, ever again. Delete all of my pictures from your hard drive, also. If something like this ever happens again, I put my life on it that I'll delete those pictures myself, along with everything else you have. As a site owner, it's not difficult to redirect you to any site I want, using htaccess. Easiest thing to do. Start thinking about the dedicated members here who don't want to put up with your childish games all the time. It's comical, yet very real, to bring my personal life into this, because it only makes you into more of a stalker, one that has a black and white life, either to be cool on a message board or to cause problems (or both). Let me finish this off by saying what I wrote in one of my email replies: you're going to fail...and you did, and you're lucky you're still here, along with everyone involved. Hitler would've dipped you in acid. I'm telling you that the next time you do it, there will be more than just a ban, and any redirects I set up will be done on multiple message boards as well, as I have enough pull to get it done on most medium-sized forums. Matter is resolved, like I said it would be. Topic closed.
  9. ...putting two and two together? ESPN isn't going to report that he's nailing Gilbert's fiance, but five other sites will (and they are).
  10. Not going to fight him at all, I'm going to just ask him what all he has to do with OTR, if he's a member, and if anyone put him up to it. He posts on four other message boards, blogs for two. He'll talk to me.
  11. So, I've ran across a Mike Pittel. Supposedly, this is the guy that emailed me last night, the one that was posting on here late as TheSweedishHammer. He goes to the Univ. of Kansas, undergrad, but is from Houston. He's 21, born October 15th. He is also a registered member on Clutchfans, writes for SBNation's blog. Now, either this is the guy, or someone is putting him up to this. Either way, he and I will meet up very soon, face to face, in Lawrence, KS...and hopefully, we'll find out what all is going on then. I sincerely hope nobody is behind this, because that's just a terrible thing to do to someone else. If anyone else knows anything, don't post it in here...just PM me. Don't be so quick to trust everyone around you, even if you're the one just keeping a secret. You turn them in, you may be responsible for saving our forums, may even be worth a free OTR shirt or a spot on the staff, as I really don't have the time to continue digging through the mess -- gotta focus on OTR, not one individual. Thanks for all the help.
  12. Maybe this will help: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4642307
  13. Yeah Slaven, Miami would have the money for him...but Jermaine would have to take much less, they would have to drop either Q-Rich or Haslem (or both, or re-sign one or both for MUCH less), find a way to keep Dorell Wright for cheap (or let him go), and sign minimums to fill the rest of the roster out. I really don't think it'll happen.
  14. Wait, LeBron take a backseat to Dwyane Wade? Come on now...
  15. Nathan Jawai sucks, and the Warriors are shooting 60+ percent from the field. That's just terrible.
  16. Haha, sorry man...I gotta laugh at this. I was watching some of the game, and it really is crazy how Bonner was getting what he wanted. And once again, Calderon is just terrible on defense. Wright shouldn't be starting. Toronto has some major issues to deal with this season, and I'm starting to wonder if the coaching can be questioned yet.
  17. You missed out. Barkley was the man. Like I said a while back, I was rooting for Phoenix until Kobe was drafted. Barkley, KJ and Majerle...sick trio.
  18. Yeah, I've counted a couple of times where Calderon has gotten burned, then he just stands there...and, even worse, Bosh sees it and doesn't go after the shot. That might be due to CB being in foul trouble, though...but there's no excuse for Calderon.
  19. Haha, I actually figured Deron would dominate this game, but I guess not...and in turn, the Knicks nearly won. New York was outrebounded, as expected...but Utah turned the ball over too many times, and Deron's 2-10 shooting didn't help, as he never really got it going from the start. 16 assists, though.
  20. What was the point of launching threes (Williams) near the end of the game, then deciding to just trade baskets (layup for two Nash frees) the rest of the way, and expecting to win?
  21. Wow, Wright is a screw-up. I would rather see Belinelli and DeRozan out there.
  22. This would be absolutely hilarious to everyone if it were Mehmet Okur's fiance. Not to mention she's cheating on Gilbert, which makes her ugly and a cheating whore.
  23. Hope it's not too difficult... http://reasho.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/chris-paul1.jpg
