  1. Simply put, D'Antoni is an offensive-minded coach that is running an offense that's lacking offense. Confusing? If he was back in Phoenix, he could get away with it because the Suns would pour in 110 points per night, coming out with 50-60 wins. But it's not difficult to stop a team that has mediocre offense and bad defense, especially when the coach doesn't want to play defense. All you need to do is outscore the team and get a few stops here and there, and you're off to the races with another win. That's the Knicks in a nutshell.
  2. 1) Portland Trail Blazers - Kevin Durant 2) Seattle SuperSonics - Greg Oden 3) Atlanta Hawks - Al Horford 4) Memphis Grizzlies - ? Who do you select for Memphis with the fourth pick? For a complete list of players to choose from, here's the 2007 draft: http://www.draftexpr....php?syear=2007 If you need the Grizzlies' 2007-08 roster, it's here: http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/MEM/2008.html

  4. Right, but I just realized...can you actually do a hurricanrana?
  5. Atlanta can play really good at home. I expect a close one. I think K-Mart would be important in this game, as one of Denver's better and more versatile defensive players, but it now forces Nene and Birdman to step up and play more on the defensive end, while the backcourt will have to make up any scoring lost in their efforts (as most players have to substitute defense for offense, and vice-versa).
  6. Wow, the Nets are down to eight already? What is going on in New Jersey? Boston could cremate the Nets tonight...but as always, there are always those weird games where the stronger team can't figure out the awkward style of the "disabled" one, and it ends up being a good game. We'll see, though.
  7. Haha, yeah, it was really odd that they didn't run double teams at Kobe the entire game. Unless you have someone like Pippen defending Kobe, you really don't let Kobe "get his" and force the rest of the team to beat you, mainly because the rest of the team CAN beat you.
  8. The PERFECT time for you to run out onto the ramp, get in the ring and give someone a hurricanrana before getting arrested.
  9. I have no idea, because I don't have the old database anymore. You have my AIM, I'm guessing...so next time you see me on, just shoot me a message.

  10. LOL. Yeah. Woo. I'll refrain from being excited until we win the Finals, since these wins are just too easy for a team like ours.
  11. Yeah, I read Chicago is going to let him go anyways. I think they'll do fine without him.
  12. Mo shoots a career field goal of 45% against Alston in the regular season, only 1.6 turnovers a game. If you're talking about the playoffs (which I'm sure you are), he had a streak of bad games that started against the Hawks. Unfortunately for your argument, he finished the ORL/CLE series with two very good games where he scored 24 and 17 points against Rafer, two total turnovers, 50% shooting both games, while it was Rafer Alston who shot 1/10 and 5/16 in those last two games, crushed by Mo Williams. I can give you more point guards that Rafer has played poorly against, offensively AND defensively. Non-superstar point guards, if you wish. I'd rather not have to list all of their numbers, but I've already ran across two more just searching casually.
  13. 11/2 - 439 posts 11/3 - 386 posts 11/4 - 345 posts 11/5 - 288 posts 11/6 - 322 posts All-time lows, I'm sure. We've been through four full NBA seasons, half of the 2004-05 season...and this is terrible for us. I don't know if it's going to take me having to go out and find multiple board affiliations and/or possible merges or what, but it's looking more and more like we need new members.
  14. Wow, I don't think anyone is freaking out that we won the game. My sarcasm about being a piss-poor team without Gasol and Bynum must not be detected here, so let me cut to the chase: Kobe dropped his third 40+ point game in the last four games. He put in most of his points off of tough fadeaways. Ron Artest had an excellent game where he was actually hitting his open shots. That's all. The next time I make a post, I'll be sure to make it third grade level, so it's universally understood.
  15. I have no idea how the Heat managed to beat the Nuggets without Wade contributing big time. I mean, yeah...I see how they did...but it's mind-boggling. Denver should've capitalized on Wade's bad shooting night, but they let guys score left and right. And I wouldn't say Miami played that great defensively. They allowed Denver to shoot 47% from the floor. Melo put out his usual 30, but Lawson did what he wanted, and surprisingly, Afflalo played like an all-star. Denver just missed a ton of open threes and had no answer for Jermaine and Mario, as you said.
  16. Yeah, so we're a bad team? Go ahead and exit the topic.
  17. We just beat a Grizzlies team without Gasol and Bynum. All we had was Kobe (who is out of his prime now), Artest (the bad seed and chucker) and Odom (inconsistent loser married to the ugliest Kardashian). We just defeated OJ Mayo, Rudy Gay, Marc Gasol, Mike Conley and Allen Iverson with a group of "losers" that depend on Gasol to win anything.
  18. Haha, well...that wouldn't be the case for him on a consistent basis, though. Plus, he's still bad offensively. He does move around well, but there have been a few games this season (preseason and regular season) where he has attempted some of the dumbest shots I've seen in a long while, haha.
  19. Can't complain about the personal attacks you get if you're going to throw them as well, bro. And as far as the topic goes...when did Rafer Alston become a decent (let alone the best) defensive point guard? Really? I remember when Deron Williams gave him 32/11 when Alston was on the Rockets. Chris Paul handed him a 37/11 game back in March of 2008, slid in a 21/4/10/4 game their next meeting, then a 26/4/10/2 game to end 2008. Steve Nash is averaging 19/9 on 54% shooting against Alston for his career. Tony Parker is averaging 15 points per on 49% shooting against Rafer. What elite point guard has Rafer shut down? And when did Pietrus and Barnes become poor defenders? Barnes may not be the one you want defending the likes of Bryant and James, and Pietrus did struggle against both of them as well...but who doesn't? Both players are still good perimeter defenders.
  20. Nobody is getting out of the first round in the West unless they have an all-star teammate, doesn't matter if you put up 35/4/3 or 30/8/8. Kobe's scoring is a product of many shots, while LeBron's all-around numbers are a product of not having anyone else handle the ball or rebound. Both translate into playoff losses.
  21. No, Jason, he's too old to do that now. He's falling out of his prime. Can't you tell?
  22. Whoa, the Warriors are a mess. They shot 29-81 from the floor (which is 36%), but even worse, they allowed the Clippers to shoot 44-74, which is almost 60%.
  23. Wow, Kobe...41 points, 19-30 from the field, just three points off of free throws? No turnovers? And Ron "Chucker" Artest hits Memphis up with 19 points, 7-14 shooting, seven assists, seven rebounds? Love this team. I just can't wait to get Gasol and Bynum on the court together with everyone else.
