AMEN TO THAT!
-
Dude, seriously, just wait and add another $70 and get a brand new PS3 Slim. It'll be worth it in the end. Bigger hard drive, probably cools easier, and it's new. I'll never play Madden on my PS3 again. I really think that Madden 08 killed my first one.

That's understandable, but it wasn't like Hill couldn't score. He averaged 26 PPG with Stackhouse on his team, and that was the year Stack was dropping 24 PPG on 18 shot attempts a night.

What's the most free throws you've made in a row?
Real Deal replied to Diesel's topic in Other Basketball Discussion
I've hit 46/50 before during tryouts back in high school, but I'm pretty sure I can't do that now. Couldn't tell you how many of those were consecutive makes. -
Well, let's go that route... + Hill was the better scorer and had twice the offensive game Pippen did + Pippen was the better defensive player, possibly best of all-time at the three, but Hill was a good defender + Hill was an exceptional passer, and Pippen was good + Hill and Pippen were similar in athleticism, and I can probably argue that Hill was more athletic (should've seen him dunk the ball in his first 2-3 years in Detroit) + Hill was the better leader Now, if I could have the 1994 Scottie Pippen (22/9/6/49% FG) or the 1997 Grant Hill (21/9/7/50% FG), I'm taking Hill every day of the week because, while Pippen was a seven-year player, Grant Hill had just entered his third...and, surprisingly, put up 20/10/7 the previous year, as a sophomore. Very similar to LeBron James' second season numbers (less points, more boards), and some believe LeBron will close his career as good as, or better than, Jordan.

Keep that 10-year old crap off the board. You can talk a little trash on other teams, but you know how much is too much.

Shaq and LeBron relationship facing problems?
Real Deal replied to magicbalala245's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
You mean "superstar" guard. It didn't work with Steve Nash or Penny Hardaway. -
Yep...post-Jordan. I think that if Pippen had stayed in Seattle with Ellis and McDaniel, versus Jordan and eventually Phil Jackson, I'm not sure if he'd be the same player he turned out to be.
-
Yeah, Pippen was still a pretty good player, but his attitude is another reason why he fell to fifth in the draft. Both the Nets and the Clippers were looking at forwards (and small forwards at that), and they eventually took Hopson and Williams over Pippen (hell, Seattle took him and traded him for Polynice). In fact, if it wasn't for Pippen's play in that pre-draft invitational, he wouldn't have went top five. Jordan set him straight and had a hand in Pippen's attitude adjustment.

Haha, yeah, good point.

Neither. A true "Big Four" has four all-stars. Rondo won't make the all-star team next season, and neither will Richard Jefferson. Same with Artest. An example of a Big Four would be the 2006 Pistons (Billups, Rip, Sheed and Big Ben). Kobe, Shaq, Van Exel and Jones got there together, and the Sixers put in Erving, Malone Toney and Cheeks, I'm almost 100% positive (couldn't tell ya the year, but it was in the early 80's). Just some info if you ever run into a trivia question.
-
Grant Hill, if healthy, would probably be a top ten player in the history of the game by retirement. Back when he came out of Duke, I was almost 100% sure he would be the next to average a triple-double.

Shaq and LeBron relationship facing problems?
Real Deal replied to magicbalala245's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
Reading too much into it. Shaq is right in what he said, too. He and Kobe won three rings, despite not getting along. Not saying I believe LeBron and Shaq will win it all. It's just possible for two superstars to do so in any given situation. -
Well, it mainly allows Facebook users to sign up using their FB account. Easy way to connect. But it also lets you guys connect your OTR account to your FB one. So, for example, when I update my status on FB, it does it for me on OTR as well. Same with my profile picture, or my About Me section.

Western Conference forums were all giving skin errors...but that's my fault. I was installing a quick JS update.

If the topic doesn't pertain to you, stay out of it. If I see anyone doing what they did the last time this topic was up, you're getting a permanent ban.

Just noticed the drop-downs at the top aren't working on the home page. Might be a YouTube problem, actually. We'll see.

Thanks. If you guys have any suggestions, go ahead and tell me. I'm going to take a break for a while, though.
-
Hope you guys like it. http://www.otrbasketball.com (home page) Also added a 24-hour online list and member legend at the bottom of the board, and Facebook Connect. Log out, then log back in and link your OTR account with your Facebook one. Do NOT create a new account! Select the second option if you decide to do this. Then, you can go into your profile settings and choose to sync your accounts. Ah, and team forums are back up.

Houston should welcome a trade for McGrady, though, because this is probably the best time to do it. He may not be the 30 PPG McGrady he used to be, but he's still an expiring, and there are teams looking for that 2010 cap room (isn't McGrady expiring after this season?).
-
Yeah, Gordon's defense doesn't leave much to be desired for. I think Chicago will do just as good without him, especially with Deng back in the mix and, well, D-Wade coming in soon.
