It's not just a long shot, more like an impossible scenario. There's no way Shaq comes off the bench AND takes the vet's minimum in the process. Not a chance.

You aren't the face of the NBA until you win a title. That's the excuse they gave Hakeem Olajuwon for years, and Karl Malone as well...although the truth was that Jordan existed. I don't see why that suddenly changes for LeBron. And Kobe seems to be much more liked in China and Spain than LeBron is. That has a lot to do with Gasol and the fact that Bryant is always in China, for something, but that's all a part of being the face of the league.

For me, it was out of Beasley and Gordon. Memphis needed a potential superstar at that time (which is why they traded Love for Mayo), and if all picks are final, I'm selecting Beasley at five. I'm taking into consideration the fact that they will have Marc Gasol and Rudy Gay, and they need someone who can score points in their frontcourt, because Rudy can always play the guard position, if necessary. Beasley is too good to pass up at five. I really didn't know Gordon would be a sensational rookie, either...and I'm not sure everyone else did, or else he would've been picked top five.
