Who would you want guarding Kobe for the last shot?
Real Deal replied to magicbalala245's topic in General NBA Discussion
Well, it's probably easy because it's a clear-cut decision for Kobe to take the shot, instead of the drive, and Battier is easily the best at defending the shot. There hasn't been anyone else in the league since Scottie Pippen to defend a jumper as good as Battier. "Face-guarding" is illegal in college basketball and in high school basketball (I believe), but in the NBA, it's legal if the player has the ball...and nobody does that better than Shane, and I'm almost willing to say that he's probably the best face-guarding defensive player of all-time. It's just that there are many other ways of defending a shot, also...such as moving your hand past a player's side of their head, near their ears. It'll throw their shot off. Just a tip for you kids out there. -

Probably not, because Bryant has already dropped 50 on him, I believe. Plus, anyone dubbed "The Kobe Stopper" usually gets their asses handed to them pretty badly. -
BREAKING NEWS: Michael Vick signs with Eagles
Real Deal replied to CaliCurbStomppa's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
Nah, Vick can still be good for an NFL team. He's just going to have to lose the attitude and work on being a quarterback, instead of acting like he's Barry Sanders. I think the right coach can fix that problem, but in return, it's going to take a lot of hard work from Michael, and if he was a younger player, that might be good. I'm just not sure Vick is willing to change after so many years. -

Probably not at all, but I've also seen what Kobe does when LeBron plays him one-on-one, so I'm going to pick a defensive specialist over James. -
BREAKING NEWS: Michael Vick signs with Eagles
Real Deal replied to CaliCurbStomppa's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
This doesn't make any sense to me. McNabb will get the minutes. Does Vick believe McNabb is on his last leg? -
Doesn't make sense to do this, though. True Nets fans aren't going to reverse those jerseys, no matter what...and it's the true Nets fans that are going to buy the 10-game packages.

Who would you want guarding Kobe for the last shot?
Real Deal replied to magicbalala245's topic in General NBA Discussion
For the last shot, Shane Battier. He's not the best perimeter defender in the NBA, though. He's an excellent help defender, and he contests shots very, very well...but defending quick, slashing guards? Not his cup of tea. Now, if Kobe was going to take it to the rim, that's different. I take Tayshaun Prince. But knowing Bryant, he's going to hesitate a bit, gain some room, then pull up for a jumper...so your answer is Battier. -
Why reformat? That should be your last option, if you can't find/fix your virus problem. That'll just wipe the computer clean. You can do that, though. It's not my computer, haha. Just be sure you save everything you need onto a CD or a thumb drive, and you'll need your Windows CD, or recovery disks, unless you have the recovery feature on your computer, with your Windows CD folder.

1) Chicago Bulls - Derrick Rose 2) Miami Heat - OJ Mayo 3) Minnesota Timberwolves - Brook Lopez If you were the Thunder, who would you pick at #4? Here's their 2007-08 roster (pre-draft): http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/SEA/2008.html

What a sweep.

Do you believe the Thunder will sneak into the playoffs this upcoming season? Durant, Westbrook, Green, Harden, Krstic Is that enough to snag an eighth seed? Lakers, Spurs, Mavericks, Nuggets, Hornets, Jazz, Blazers...maybe all playoff locks. Clippers, Suns, Warriors, Thunder, Grizzlies, Rockets, Wolves, Kings...all remaining teams for that 8th and final spot.

Top 10 shooting guards in NBA history
Real Deal replied to magicbalala245's topic in General NBA Discussion
Yeah, it's the statistics he left behind, and those clutch shots, combined with all the talk from those who have seen him play. I've seen maybe as many games as Sean has, probably the same exact ones haha...but just from those games, he was a great guard, and I try to avoid throwing that word around a lot. -
Well, I was thinking more along the lines of having Bibby run the point, Crawford at the two and Joe Johnson at the three. Johnson played the three in Phoenix and in Atlanta's offense, I don't think it would be that big of an issue. But then again, they'd have Teague and Williams coming off the bench. Not that great.
-
So are we looking at a starting five that includes Johnson, Crawford, Bibby, Horford and Smith...or will one be sent to the bench to allow Johnson to play the two-guard position?

C - Eddy Curry PF - Zach Randolph SF - Al Thornton SG - JR Smith PG - Stephon Marbury Coach - Mike Dunleavy

In the 6th grade, we were forced to either be in the choir, or take band. So I took band and played a trumpet. Went through junior high and high school with it. I actually had NOTHING in common with anyone else in band, and I hated having the class, but I was ranked #1 in the state of Kansas during our state solo competitions when I was a junior and senior. Played two years of JUCO, couldn't stand not playing basketball, but with my ankle injury, it was either a band scholarship, or the academic scholarship (both are bad). Got an offer to play in the Univ. of Kansas band as a co-lead trumpet, but I turned it down. Not saying anything bad about those who take band...but in my town, I just really couldn't hang out with them during games, yet I was forced to in a way, and I was done with that.

Top 10 shooting guards in NBA history
Real Deal replied to magicbalala245's topic in General NBA Discussion
Numbers are an ugly thing when comparing careers, though. If you take the ball out of Reggie's hands, he was the best player in the league in off-the-ball play, hands down. Richard Hamilton and Ray Allen are excellent, but they really don't even come close to the way Reggie used his teammates and positioning, just to lose his man. I mean, I can look at a player's stats and tell you that Tracy McGrady and Kobe Bryant are probably going to be ranked near each other in all-time shooting guards, based on a few lines of season stats alone, but we know that's a ridiculous claim. Even in McGrady's best season, he still didn't touch what Bryant has done in a few of his. But, real talk, you brought up Ray Allen, and I would stick him in front of Reggie. He had a better overall game than Miller. Reggie wasn't a defender, and his passing and rebounding wasn't so great for a long player. As good as Iverson? No way. Better than Redd? Yes, mainly because of his higher basketball IQ, his ability to play off the ball, and his leadership and clutch factor. But Ray Allen has all of that as well, and he's the better scorer and quite possibly a better defender, although both actually suck badly at that end of the court. -
All of the teams are done, actually. I really have no idea what I'm doing with the main banners yet. A lot of old pictures are just that: old. They are grainy. So I'm really not sure if I want to go that route.

Top 10 shooting guards in NBA history
Real Deal replied to magicbalala245's topic in General NBA Discussion
Reggie is in between your Allen Iverson and your Michael Redd. He wasn't the dominant player Iverson was, but he was better than Redd and those borderline all-stars (although Redd did have a nice season or two). He did lead a team (along with Jalen Rose) to the NBA Finals, and he also went through the Jordan era...in the same conference...reaching the ECF's twice as the sole leader of the Pacers. Thing is, Reggie shot 50% or better from the field four times in his career, adn that's crazy because that's what the majority of his game was: shooting. But I can't say he's as good or better than Iverson. -

Man. I'd rather not have to do a jersey switch. Small task because I don't have to do the full switch, but still... COME ON, LEE. TAKE THE PICTURES.
