Then where is that when he's defending individual players on the perimeter? I only see that when the other teams are running fast breaks, and when a teammate of his gets burned on the perimeter. For such an excellent defensive player (as you're making him out to be), I would take at least 10-15 other players defending me, one-on-one, on the perimeter before I'd take LeBron. Probably more than that.

Any team planning on LeBron in 2010 is potentially screwed, because only one team will get him in the end. If the Knicks don't get him, they probably won't get anyone, and you may be looking at one of the worst records in a decade or so.

Rings aren't the only things that make a player. Overall playing ability, individual and team success...put it all together, and nobody tops Jordan. Remove the individual and team awards, though, and you have a pretty damn good argument. With that, nobody is closer to MJ than Bryant.

I'm sure people will be giving the same argument about Kevin Garnett over the years, then...and I'd much rather have Bryant.

Harris is the better scorer, by far, and he's the fastest player in the league and actually knows how to use his speed. Rondo plays better defense, but it's not by much. It's easy to defend other guards when you have one of the best defensive forwards in the NBA waiting for them in the paint, and you saw what Derrick Rose did to Rondo before Boston decided to double him. Rondo is a better rebounder because of his length, but I'm not sure if he's a better facilitator. I think Harris would've done a pretty good job with Garnett, Pierce and Allen as his weapons (you've got a post player, a slashing forward and a three-point shooter at your fingertips). I have to take Harris.

Jefferson, if Manu's injury puts him on the shelf even longer. LeBron is actually going to have to change his game slightly, just to fit Shaq into the offense. O'Neal is too old to change now. I'm not sure if Carter's impact on the team will be felt as much as Turkoglu's, seeing that Hedo stretches the floor more than anyone else on the team not only because of his shooting, but also his ball-handling and the ability to run the point.

Without Turkoglu, Orlando and Cleveland are probably on the same level of play. At full health, Boston is the top team. We can sit here all day and talk about how healthy Garnett will be next season, but without Phoenix's training staff, we can also do that with Shaq. We saw what they did with him and Grant Hill. It's hard for me not to say they have the best trainers in the league.

He won't be a bust because he's not going to be expected to lead a team. A lot of people know what he's capable of, and that's all-star point guard play. But that's his ceiling, honestly. He won't be Pistol, he won't be a superstar, and he won't be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the end of his career. To say he will be a bust...it would be different if he was the first or second pick in the NBA Draft, but the Clippers, Thunder, Grizzlies and Kings probably skipped him for more reasons than just his questionable availability for next season.

Kobe is the only player in the league required to make his teammates better. When they perform poorly, fingers point to him. When LeBron's teammates don't shoot the ball well, it's because they were never good in the first place. People seem to forget what happened 2-3 years ago, and all the things that were said about how Michael Jordan was making Paxson, Armstrong and Kerr better players, and how Kobe wasn't getting it done because he didn't do just that. Despite LeBron having better numbers in the clutch, you give the ball to Kobe before you do LeBron if you want to win the game. Kobe demands more defensive attention further from the rim, so his shooting percentage will be lower in the clutch. Someone posted some clutch stats of Reggie Miller before, not sure where they got them or where that post was, but because Reggie demanded all the attention on the floor, his shooting percentages in the clutch were actually a bit lower than other players' stats, but we know who would get the ball at the end of a game. Kobe has no glaring weakness in his game. You give me one. LeBron has no post game. His jumper is still suspect, especially when contested by longer defenders. His footwork is nowhere near Bryant's. You take the player that has no weaknesses in his game. It's Kobe. For a 6-6 205-pound guard that plays far away from the rim and dominates the ball, his rebounding and assist numbers are pretty solid. Give me a weakness in Kobe's game, and I'll give you a weakness in LeBron's. We'll go with that until one of us has no answers. I can assure you that I won't be the first to stop.
